I remember The Moments aka Ray, Goodman and Brown. My favorite song when they were known as The Moments is "Love on A Two-Way Street". My favorite song as Ray, Goodman and Brown is "Special Lady". I agree with the fact that they were a very underrated R&B vocal group. And it goes to show how even if you have the talent, that you can still get caught up on the ugly side of the music business.

The Moments or Ray, Goodman & Brown had some cuts! They were smooth. My favorite songs by them were "Look At Me," "Love On A Two Way Street," "Special Lady," and "Happy Anniversary." Didn't know they provided background vocals for Alicia Keys on her recording of, "You Don't Know My Name." Thanks for their story.

As the story goes, at 1:30, Stang was part of All Platinum since Joe and Sylvia Robinson formed All Platinum in 1968. In addition to the All Platinum family of labels, Stang came first, and then Turbo and Vibration. After All Platinum closed down, she formed Sugarhill Records in 1979 and their very first hip-hop single was “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugarhill Gang, and the rest was history.

Their mega hit, "Love On A Two Way Street" wins with me😊. It is alleged that Lezlie Valentine co-wrote "Love...". I hope she gets credited for her portion of the song. I'm also a fan of "Look At Me, I'm In Love" (lush strings), and their cover version of The Ink Spots song, "If I Didn't Care".

Shame there is no mention of their UK top 20 hits. Girls, Dolly My Love and Jack In The Box. I think the last two were recorded in London and both were very different mixes than what appeared on the US album.

So interesting to know. While I have so many memories with their songs, I have a lot of favorites. What is played and shared mostly is “Happy Anniversary”. I play it every year for mine and I send it to many friends every year. The Moments/Ray, Goodman & Brown are cemented into the soundtrack of my life!

My Favourite Song from the moments is Sugar Sugar From the LP The moments meets the O Jays 👌🏿.

Happy Anniversary Make Sure Shoestrings are tied, but I have loved all of their Music.

As I write this in early 2024, it was about 15 years ago when I learned this group was the first to record (We) Don't Cry Out Loud as a smooth soul song two whole years before Melissa Manchester transformed it into a power ballad.

I like mostly all of them I miss Goodman soo much just like the dramatic I miss ron Bank that is my favorite group too

Yep! Stacy Lattisaw did a great version of “Love On A Two-Way Street” and it became a hit in 1981.

There were many great groups back in the day that you would have to appreciate music and be exposed to as much music as possible to know about The Moments later known as Ray Goodman & Brown. Great post.

We had a party at work in 1995 right out on a very spacious work floor. Karaoke was brand new and I got up and sang Love On A Two Way Street. All the girls began screaming and screaming!!! It wasn't me, it was that song man. It was that song!!!! Moments Forever!

I go back as far as the the 60s with Ray Goodman and Brown the Moment's!! I have to be honest I just can't pick one it was everything that they were able to sing with greatness and the Harmony with vocals skills unimaginable!!! And The talented musician was all heavenly sent and they mastered their craft!! The moments was amazing group!! Like Blue Magic, The Stylistics, The Delfonics, Black Ivory, The Dramatics, The Whispers, Heat Wave, and The list the continue!!!
