After playing mut religiously for the past 4 years I stopped. And I got to say. It’s the best decision I could of made man. This game gets us addicted and gets us spending way to much time and money on jt. And when you look back at it you feel like a fool. I am now a casual regs player. I play like 10 games a week and am so much happier in life now

I’ve never played MUT because I’m not spending money I’m a regs guy and even that got boring when playing since 2003. Football is unique and madden doesn’t give you that

I've never played MUT, but being a football fan it's just weird to me that the game allows players to put Derrick Henry at QB and that guy can sling it all over the field with seemingly no downside. What am I missing here?

MUT makes popular players have out of postion cards. For example the Derrick Henry they are using here is a QB card not the RB card. They give the QB Henry card boosted throwing stats. But when he scrambles out of the pocket he breaks nearly every tackle and never fumbles. Its the best QB card in the game

Imagine playing in a tournament FOR MONEY and the game you’re playing IS BROKEN to the point where you literally have no way to be original. Shame on EA

All I play against is Bunch TE and wheel Routes up the ass ! Also I can’t remember when someone punted the football and I play about 6-8 games a day ! 4th down is a joke no matter the yardage !

Great video! I was hoping that you would break down Gun Bunch one day! It seems like Gun Bunch has been the best formation in Madden going back to at least Madden 13, and it hasn't stopped since. Before I watched this video, I also never knew *why* you would motion out the outside bunch WR from Z Spot and Go before snapping. Now I get it! I thought that it was just to give that receiver more room to run when he breaks up field, I didn't realize that it could help to open up the corner route!

This video should have been titled part 1 of everything that's wrong with Madden 😂😂

You didn't touch on the most important reason as to why almost everyone runs gun bunch: EA has not built in the checks teams have for their defenses to defend bunch, and the one's they have are buggy and vulnerable to one play touchdowns when the AI logic breaks. If EA put the manpower into putting in bunch checks into the game besides box, and fixed box so the AI play correctly bunch would be a situational formation instead of base. Same with any variation of trips TE: If EA put the manpower into putting trips checks into the game and making sure they worked instead of the superficial back of the box features it wouldn't be nearly as popular.

Gun bunch TE or whatever it is that has PA boot over in it has one of the most broken glitches in the game. There is a clear man / zone tell based on where the bunch side DE lines up. EA hasn’t done anything to fix it all year

@@leojones8273 What? ... That's not how football works. Coverage rules and formation checks exist in real life. Saying that they shouldn't be in Madden is just ... Wow. I really don't have anything to say to that. Madden players typically have very low football IQs, but saying that coverage rules shouldn't exist and the user should make the adjustments might just take the cake.

Of course that's mostly all you see in weekend league cuz that's what the pros run especially when they flipping every play. The fact is there's a lot of good formations if you put a lil lab work in.

Two things i noticed watching mcs this year is this. 1) 90 percent of the plays ran were the same and 2) Escape artist was way overpowered. Overall it was very boring to watch.

@@heathhenderson8235 every game has a meta, I agree with that point, but I'd argue that balanced games have some form of counter. Again yes a meta does eventually develop but if you are too predictable your opponent can read and counter you/the meta. I've never been super into fighting games so I could be completely wrong but those come to mind, where there is a meta but the meta changes over time as certain counter pick fighters become more popular. Rock paper scissors is a good way to illustrate what I'm suggesting. If rock is the meta today, paper is the meta tomorrow, etc. A game I am familiar with is rocket league, and while there's definitely a meta of sorts to the game, there has always been top pro teams that have played differently. Some are super aggressive and force their opponents to play at their speed/make mistakes, some sit back and play more of a counterattack, most are somewhere in the middle. In conclusion, while I agree with your general point that every game does have a meta, there are well balanced games that offer variety in how you can counter that, and your opponent can counter your counter, etc. This makes the game more enjoyable long term from a player perspective as well as a viewer, in my opinion. Edit to add- def ain't happening in madden anytime soon lol. I haven't played a madden since 15, I wanna say? Lmao. I remember playing madden 05 and thinking how crazy sports games would be in 2020. Sports games are crazy in 2020, but for slightly different reasons than I might have anticipated as a kid.

EA should call this game Madden arcade.. there is nothing simulation about this game.

I only use gun bunch and gun bunch te when I play. In my opinion best formations in the game

There will always be metas, but unfortunately this year there wasn't much variety in the meta. Hopefully next year will be better!

@@SpruceGooseTV it’s more than just being “the meta”. When you have routes that kill the AI logic, then its “breaking the game”. And this is something that EA isn’t going to fix. Next year it may be another route or another formation, but it’s the same thing. Find a route that the AI legitimately can’t cover and abuse it. Flip the play, abuse it again. I’m sure all of these guys would be great at the game even if there wasn’t spammy game breaking plays, but if the game plan is to run those plays all the way down the field, then how is this game even fun for them. I’ve seen your video on plays that madden zones can’t even cover. I try to play a user franchise and people who do these plays over and over entirely kill my enjoyment of the game.

Think bunch will get patched next year in madden 23?

For some pros, they'll always run it. But they should nerf wheel routes in Madden 23 which should cause a decline in the number of people running Bunch

Typically playbooks will have one or the other. Henry and Wesley used Cincinnati

It's not just the top 1 percent of players that run these plays if that was the case then maybe i would have respected it more but if you watch a pro madden stream and those guys are using the same offenses that you see normal people running yo would think that these pros would have it locked up but it seems like they have problems defending it too obviously less problems then most but still problems

That's fair, but I do have two thoughts: 1) In MUT you don't need to break the bank if you play consistently all year. If you want to compete in the MCS tournaments that's a different story, but you can have a solid team all year without spending money. 2) As someone who was only a regs player for a long time, I've actually come to really enjoy MUT because it adds more depth to the game. The customization you get with team building and abilities just really adds a new layer to the game in my opinion. And of course you get that to some extent with a CFM, but for me, MUT is the most fun way to play Madden.

@@SpruceGooseTV in online CFM you get to experience the growth of young players... it's like madden football's RPG version. Plus in online CFM there are usually rules that help make it feel more like a true realistic experience.. for example most people aren't calling the same offensive or defensive plays back to back to back etc. And this is just my opinion, I personally think online CFM players have more skill as far as play calling strictly because of the inability to call the same plays over and over again. Most MUT players in my experience that join competitive leagues complain like hell lol because they can't call their favorite and sometimes only play 20xs back to back.

This is why I dont play madden anymore. towards the end of the video. Money play is a hb screen. How do you run the HB screen efficiently in madden? Of course you scramble immediately out of the pocket like a jackass and chuck the ball 60 yards down field off mid sprint to hit a wide open guy, just like how its drawn up. For real, how do people think this is a fun, realistic game?

I agree,madden use to have unique routes in certain plays but they took them out,EA lazy asf now,its so many different formations with the same damn plays in them.

These pro players are lazy and uncreative. If these guys are pros then the future of Madden is in trouble.
