I just downloaded it again and restarted cause back in 2015 I played around 14hrs it said on my save and I had no clue what was going on. After watching the show and reading into the lore I love this universe. The game is amazing especially with next Gen update. I'm about 2 hours into my new playthrough as of yesterday and I'm loving it 1000x more now that I understand the characters and what not. Truly an amazing game, I'd love to see a number 4 come out

@@TurkeyLurkey00 I've learned the lesson to "save often" the hard way... just got killed by wraiths and poison clouds 3 times in a row until I finally decided to meditate and save after every single fight 😅 Ngl Keira hard-carried the boss fight while I just ran around regenerating health and spamming igni 🥴

This guide is fantastic. I’m playing on Death March for the first time and the only thing I use (a lot) that you don’t is Quen, especially in the early going, but I will definitely be mixing in Axii during combat, didn’t realize it gave big XP!

It gives big xp when you use it in dialogue, not any extra in combat. It can definitely be useful in combat tho.

cheers for this, its so easy for these guys on their lvl 100 chrs to show OP builds and how to set it up but this is the first vid iv seen thats giving tips on the early game and actually on a low lvl chr, for most of us "regular" type gamers the vast majority of time we will spend on our playthrough is just leveling the chr up especially on console where theres (strangely) no console commands to cheese the system lol

The level 3 Axii delusion actually increases your XP Total gain not by much mind you. (Like another 5 xp lol) Might be worth it at higher levels or NG+

Just a stupid question, but I just lvl4 and my muscle memory is 0/3. (Haven’t invested in this) But your is 5/5, does it change to 3/5 when I increase my lvl?

How often do you have to change the skill tree setup? When do you unlock the bottom one? I used skill points believing that all my abilities were active at one time.

I'd beaten Death March years ago but had found my playstyle (extensive Sign focus) functional but boring and am now doing a new playthrough using your build and intending to focus more on flashy sword maneuvers. I didn't have the expansions the first time I beat the game, as they may not have existed yet, but Blood and Wine's "Gourmet" is invaluable now that I'm not immediately rushing Quen-Shield.

Happen to have a potion video? I always grab the “scrolls” at vendors, but my toxicity is still at 100. Do I have to make the potion for it to auto replenish, or does bought ones count?

Wow, the utility on Gourmet almost trivializes the higher difficulties. Cool how a few small changes makes you prioritize abilities that were previously useless. Great work as always!

I've played the game multiple times, but with the next gen i decided to go again, despite having to set everything to low in graphics lol, used to play on high. One thing i noticed in regards to food is that they completely changed how it works. Now regenerating almost nothing(at least on Death March) even though judging by the tooltip, that regen is based on number of kills during combat. That fundamentally makes food useless for anything except a bit of passive regen out in the world. And even when fighting groups and killing, the healing is completely negligible. Had to rely entirely on Swallow, but sucks due to limited charges...can't exactly meditate in combat to replenish.

@@optimusgrime8265 I'm not sure if you've checked yourself. but now food regenerates 10-15 hp per sec and another 10-15 per kill during combat...so if your fighting bosses or 1-3 mobs...tough luck, no food recovery for you, the bar doesn't even move :P It's really weird and sucks hard. It really annoys me, particularly early game where you need to rely on consumables a lot, as you don't have the damage, gear or stats. There are so many cases where i get overwhelmed by 3+ mobs because with no recovery i am forced to spend more time evading than actually doing damage.

@@Kristers_K Yeah, I'm not touching the game until they rollback, remove or add the ability to turn off the mod. It's not just health regen either, I tested all of my builds across multiple saves and everything is much worse than before. After a handful of hours I just put the controller down.

Seems like that just strengthens the need for Tawny Oil in combat (I think that’s the name of the one that doubles health regeneration)

I'm level 38 wearing full set of Mastercrafted Wolven gear. So confused as to where to put talent points. Do I need to manually save the game and apart a new one in game plus it says geralts quest is over. I have the wircher 3 complete edition wirh all the expansion packs. Or can I keep playing as usual?

Was there a change to abilities during the next gen update? Because I can only max out muscle memory at 3/3. I've watched the video several times and am confident that I didn't miss anything but I still can't get it beyond 3/3. Any advice? It's a good build as is but if it can be better, I want it to be better.

It simply costs less to max out a skill now, and despite a lower level the effect is mostly the same.

Same. Just bought it on Black Friday for the 1st time. Doing my very 1st playthrough on Death March with no knowledge of The Witcher beyond the Netflix show (which I know isn't quite accurate). The amount of quests is overwhelming and I try to prioritize quests that are around my level just so I'm not doing quests in which I'm overleveled and get little XP. It's a bit difficult until you get the mechanics down and start understanding the game more.

Probably bear school technique in the gold tree, and abilities that increase vitality or hit points. Heavy armor is mostly for tanking

@@95fyken ah! My bad there are several nilfgard sets, thought you meant cavalry or golden sun. If you are going the medium route try to get the griffin stuff asap. As far as abilities, griffin school, and sign intensity as well as stamina regen would be best.

@@95fyken yeah stick with nilfgard, if you make it to kaer morhen, wolf is available around level 14 and it's basically an upgrade to what you are using now, at 17 cat is available which has higher damage but much worse defense, and if you want to go full on tank bear set is in skellige around level 20 or so, those would be the most noticeable stat upgrades early on.

I have 3 experiece points in muscle memory. I have 4 more points left but I can't put them in muscle memory. Could some one please expain why? Thanks.

The next gen patch reduced the levels and points to make it easier to max out abilities, you're more than fine, use the points on some other stuff

Did they nerf the perks? i thought the max for some like poison blades was 5 now i can only put 3 ability points in.

How do you get exp early? Can’t get any abilities, do or upgrade anything because I’m level 1, defeated tonnes of monsters and get nothing.

Yeah it sucks, 95% of ALL EXP comes from main story progression. You can also do side quests but they don't give as much. Farming monsters for exp is a waste of time. They usually give 1 or 2 points each.

how does Axii gives more EXP with delusion? doesn't say anything like that

@@Jasmin.M-hz5ty Cat school has the lowest defense so potions and decoctions for vitality can help, also if you really struggle with damage the Ursine set is best. You could also strengthen quen intensity in the blue tree, or add quen runes to your armor.

@@optimusgrime8265 I know that,but rune stones are useless.And i have all 8 witcher armors,wich just complicates things.Becouse i must spend lot of cash for repaires,and each armor is good only for one tipe of enemy.When i just need one armor,to beat them all.And i have visited runewright manny times,for armor and sword upgrades.But it's still a dissapointment,and my toxicity bar don't work properly.PS:Its time for real and serious talk about PS4 Witcher 3 dissapointments,so ask yours viewers what they hate the most about PS4 Witcher 3.

They nerfed food (just 10-15hp per second instead of 50-80hp) which effects the gourmet ability (not OP anymore but still not a bad option to use on deathmarch). You have to use swallow a little bit more… which in my opinion is a good think.

It's like if Jesse Pinkman was teaching me how to play The Witcher

They reduced most skills maximum level, with the next gen update, good news is that most of them have similar increases to stats. In short way more skill points will be available to you now.

For me, this game is confusing. Simply i can not recognize what skills are important. I am at lvl 7 or 8,my 1st playthrough ever of this game and simply i dont get it for now. I am looting all i can, collecting diagrams where ever i can find them and simply when i open inventory i have no clue what i suppose to keep as important thing. But thanks for this video, i hope that will understand game better. For now i really dont enjoy playing it.

Each skill has it's own total value. So either you already maxed out that skill or you don't have enough points.

It's tied to one of the expansion either hearts of stone or blood and wine, I forget which one. It's not that important but it does make healing with food far less tedious.

Put the game on easy mode. That how to be early op.

What game would you consider a masterpiece? I'm sure that I would also disagree. It's an over used and devalued word for sure. However when compared to any other western rpg before or since, it has the most intricately designed world, lore, characters and story, that actually influenced the entire generation. The Witcher 3 will be loved for decades. Can you honestly say that with any other western rpg in the last five years? I don't believe so, but everyone can, and SHOULD decide for themselves. Arguing opinion serves no purpose beyond creating conflict.

I feel like it bugged LOL. feel like I need Game Of The Year Addition XD. its all good u can help with just strange. love your vid though :).
