The Most Notorious Female Serial Killers Ever

Your parents might have told you that monsters don't exist, but serial killers sure do. These real-life monsters prey on all types of people, and they're not limited to one particular gender. Sure, names like Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy might be the first to come to mind, but some of the most prolific serial killers to have ever existed were actually women.
Female serial killers go after their victims in just as many ways as their male counterparts as well. From rat poisoning to axe wielding, their methods are as varied as their victims. With that in mind, let's take a look at the most notorious female serial killers ever.

Did anyone else notice how many of these women were nurses or in the healthcare profession? Hmmmmm....

I guarded Genene Jones when she was in the Bexar County jail, in 1987. It was difficult to work around her as I had two small children at the time. We had to keep her separated from the other inmates because obviously everyone wanted a piece of her. Evil woman.

What about Myra Hindley? In the 1960s, she and her lover Ian Brady kidnapped, tortured and murdered a total of five children in the Manchester area, before burying them on Saddleworth Moor in the Pennines. They were both jailed for life, and died in prison. What about Rose West? She and her husband Fred kidnapped, sexually abused, tortured and murdered at least nine young women, plus her stepdaughter, in and around Gloucester between 1971 and 1987. Fred hanged himself whilst on remand and awaiting sentencing, but Rose is still alive and is serving her sentence in Newhall Prison in West Yorkshire. What about Beverley Allitt? She was a nurse on the Children's Ward at Grantham and Kesteven Hospital whe she murdered four children, attempted to murder three other children, and cause Grevious Bodily Harm to a further six children. She was subsequently diagnosed with Munchausen Syndrome Byproxy, and is being treated for the rest of her life in Rampton Top Security Hospital.

This is only touching the female serial killers which is far greater than the few spoke of here. Most of these evil women also worked in healthcare and were trusted. Some of these serial killers are known to have killed thousand's of babies especially during the 1700's & 1800's when infantcide was prevalent and overlooked due to so many infant death's for centuries.

People who feel powerless will look for power in perverse ways. When I feel powerless I leave ultimate power up to God and hope I am under that protection. Only humble people can do that. Some think humility is weakness, so they act out. We are all powerless much of the time and detachment is key.

@professor sprout I agree with what you said about the powerless looking for power in perverse ways but I struggle with giving ultimate power to God mainly because I don't believe in a god. None the less I like your opinion on the matter of power.
