I’m another Swedish learner who coincidentally was reading about this adjective and I was writing the words for “little” and “small” in my notebook last week so I could remember them. 😃

It's funny that this video just popped up. I just got done with a lesson where I've been struggling with using these correctly and have been getting so frustrated. Thank you for the explanation! 😀

What about not describing anything specific... Eg, "it is small?" I don't think "it" has a gender.

In Swedish, "it" has a gender, depending on what it refers to. So if you're talking about a car, en bil, "it" would be "den". If it's a house, ett hus, it would be "det". Den är liten. Det är litet.

@@sayitinswedish thanks so much! What if, as in a lesson, you're not sure what it's referring to? Or like, you see some odd object you don't know what it is, and ask "what is it?"

@@sayitinswedish I suspect it's fine for people without hearing issues, but I found it very difficult. I didn't understand most of what you said at the end (I'm very much a beginner) but it was so much easier to hear the words without the music. Definitely getting into your videos as a great resource, so it's only a minor criticism!

Har för mig att jag hört att Smålandsregionen kallades "De små landen" vid någon tidpunkt, och sedan blev Småland liksom ett samlingsnamn eller förkortning för området.
