This is a banger by all means, omg, the story and continuity between scenes, and the quality, outstanding!!! The music exceptional, this is by far the best demo I've seen, congratulations to everyone who was involved!
Brilliant. Imagine if this had been done back in the 80s. Great to see people are still passionate about the beige bread bin 👌

This is what gets me, people were pushing the limits even then, but the things people continue to wring out of the old hardware are incredible. When I think back to the old Christmas Card demo you got with the C64, it felt like the pinnacle, not even the machine's creators could have imagined what it was capable of in the right hands.
If this had been released back in the 80s the guys that made it would have been rock stars. Amazing!
Mind = blown; face = melted off... For the longest time I've wished that when the C64 came out, someone would have thought of a C64 JoyPad that would plug in to both ports; with JoyPort 1 controlling the d-pad and left trigger and JoyPort 2 controlling the 4 action buttons and right trigger. Considering the amazing things people are creating on the C64 now, just imagine what we could have had back then...
Good to see the C64 demo scene still alive and kicking. Nice one.
7:07 blew my mind
I wish KZread had CRT viewing mode.
I'd love to see what the dithering looks like on a period-appropriate CRT!

I imagine it would probably look a hell of a lot better than it does on a modern hires display.
The textured spiral is really something! I never had a c64 back in the day, only played through emulation, but still find this outstanding!!

They start your expectations low with a silhouette, then raise them a little with shading, then hit trans warp with bitmapping on the bread bin.
This would've wrecked everyone's mind in 1990. Kick ass!
12:06 goes from skylar white yo to the iron maiden mascot
Beautiful demo, the huge multicolored city that appears at the beginning (on the mono-color screen) is truly an impressive effect. This is probably a really well thought out sprite arrangement via multiplexing mixed with bitmap and/or redefined chars.
Okay that last bit is just incredible. Demo recordings like this need some sort of indicator of when the disk is being accessed, because I have to assume that it was just constantly streaming sample data from the floppy.
Pallete switching is an incredible feature. Amazing stuff expanded to new levels at later designs
That message rap was awesome 👍
0:52 She almost look like that X-Men mutant Emma Frost/White Queen.
thank you! such a joy to experience this!
Came from MSX, and really feel that i could have an C64 at that time.... Too bad Brazil there werent an open market to be able to see more options available at that time
Unbelievable
Outstanding demo, thanks for sharing! The music in this one is most epic. I particularly enjoyed the KISS concert and the nod to Eddie from Iron Maiden. 🤘
For me the C64 - knocked it up a notch when it came to home computing back in the mid to late 80's, everything was just blobs and pixels before this beast of a machine came out.
9:44 Path tracing on a C64!!
The ending singed demo was truly amazing!!
Bubbles in space... Just like the real NASA 🤣
14:00 mind blown
Im taking short break from writting a c# telnet bbs. I found the right place lol :) Not alot of pixels to work with- and its so SMOOTH. Back in 8th grade(1984) this would have been great to run on all the systems in the computer room :)
At first I thought these were real
Impressive in every way! I have basic knowledge of the C64's capabilities but I'm still wondering how they did some of that stuff!

Same, I did a bit of assembly coding on the C64 back in the day and the effects these guys come up with blow my mind - I still can't figure out how they do most of it.
Congrats ! You made me cry with nostalgia.

You're very welcome! :)
this is absolutly gorgeous and incredible! it's impressive to see a c64 could do something like this!
Don't believe this to be real, until I run it on a c64 myself.
I love the work on the color palette, very well tought, great decision making Eddie the head is fantastic
демосцена ещё жива?! это прекрасно!
Love Censor Design's work. Very cool
64k demo worthy of the humble guys. Bravo.
Они делают, что хотят с помощью минимальных (минималистичных) изобразительных средств! Высший пилотаж! ❤
Damn, I don't know very well the C64 possibilities, but I know enough to see that's it's impressive!
Awesome, very cool! I think this will inspire many in the future
Questa demo è assolutamente strepitosa e che possa girare sul C64 è pura magia! 😮
Wow!
everything abuot thjis awesome, but the water reflections are sublime.
Demo fantastico,computer leggendario!
just wondering how does the guy drink his beer with a spacesuit mask?
And all doable in BASIC!!!
fantastic demo!
Some Emma Frost Fan here...
I❤chip tune
WOW🎉 I REALY LOVE MY C64 ❤❤❤ FOREVER ❤❤❤
Is that Emma Frost?
Daaaamn...
kiss part is amazing
A lot of great graphics and some good effects! Just the music is a bit boring in most parts and has not the quality I know from other C64 demos.
Heh, Koenigsegg ONE:1 driving in C64 😂
the cops: get in the car. * gets in the car and drives away * the cops: no wait. what the hell... but seriously that copcar looks beautiful
Brilliant !!!!
hier wordt ik zo blij van c64
I'm curious how long this took to code.
LOL is that stiffler's mom yo.
Unbelievable!
Where's this remix of Cold Heart that's so nicely sprinkled into this at?

Those kinds of things runs on a true C64 machine or on an emulator? I remember when I was a kid everything was so slow... embarassing slow... If it's true is amazing!

Epico!
And this whole code, graphics, music was in not whole 64kB of ram. 🙂 And code must be so incredible optimized, that all run smooth on this 1MHz machine. 🙂Not mention on how deep knowledge on this machine you need to have. Do do some of this 'shit'.... Like this 'stupid' effect with samples... for today's machines is nothing special. But if you 'put' this simple effect on C64... it was HUGE. How so long samples you put into this ram and playback in real time. fck INCREDIBLE!! And this full color graphic and samples... I can barely believe that this was ordinary C64, without any ram expansion. This graphics only 'eats' almost 3/4 of memory. It's rly bad, that on PC we don't have demos like this.. but how we can? If you don't have almost any obstacles do fight on... Also I recommend check Amiga Demo Scene. It's amazing to...

I was there, graphics were really bad then, but I remember how much I loathed SID C=64 video game music. It was just really bad. I know there's an ocean of people that find SID chip cheezy video game music to be da bomb, but I just never liked it at all. The PC Demoscene stuff hacks are way better too. But I mean, you've got more hardware power at your disposal, so I guess that's an unfair comparison.
