    It takes tons of time to build a sizeable structure in minecraft and that's with instant block creation. Now in EVE, where it takes tons of isk and flying slow ships to haul the guns to the exact coordinates, it must've taken months!

    In all honesty it would probably be considered an exploit to do something like that. Like back in the days when it was possible to create large amount of bookmark copies to lag out systems in Eve to win PVP battles. By lagging out people trying to attack the POS with all these modules, its taking a game mechanic and purposely making another users PC run slower.

  • @NonciclopediaForEver

    NonciclopediaForEver except the fleet dropping is part of the fight. This isn't...it's a bunch of offline mods.

  • @NonciclopediaForEver

    @NonciclopediaForEver

    10 жыл бұрын

    ninjatheory Anchoring excess mods is a common practice, though, and it has a gameplay role. But knowing the corp that the POS belongs to, that POS is there just for laughs and doesn't have any practical utility. There are plenty other GPU-killing side-projects out there, like the various graveyards, the PI-U Vile Rat memorial, the Infinigrid and whatnot, and CCP tolerates them. Besides, the issues he experimented can be easily avoided by scaling down one's graphic settings.

  • @AnimeSummit

    @AnimeSummit

    10 жыл бұрын

    NonciclopediaForEver scaling graphics won't actually change anything. It has to do with loading the objects in space and the brackets, not the specifics of the visuals. And all those other things aren't constant. Ntm if everyone logged in in hardknocks did a full dscan of that pos at the same time, the system would plunge into TIDI.

  • @NonciclopediaForEver

    @NonciclopediaForEver

    10 жыл бұрын

    ninjatheory Scaling down one's graphics will actually change everything, since it's his framerate that dropped, meaning that his GPU couldn't handle the load. I've had the same experience many many times, as a CFC line member, and even the heaviest of all grids will become much easier to handle with low graphic settings. Guess what we do during stratops? We disable brackets. That's a visual setting. It makes a difference. As for the TiDI: if everyone in Jita undocked at the same time, the node would catch on fire. That doesn't make undocking in Jita an exploit, though. You can petition for an exploit usage once that exploit is actually used, and you have hard proof of it being used. And as of now, what you see there is just a fun project made by some overly wealthy and bored people.

  • @Gyva02
    @Gyva028 жыл бұрын

    If this is such a big deal, why don't the Dev's limit the amount of things or at least offline things you can build at a given site to keep someone who's innocent and has no malicious intentions from wasting their time and resources?

    You'll pretty much need a capital fleet and a lot of patience; you can either put the POS into reinforcement by shooting it with Dreds, or you can just blockade it until the fuel runs out.

    Basically, a POS can only support that many modules online at the same time, so most like not much harder than killing any other pos, except that someone in the pos can bring new modules online if you disable others. looks more that it's been created this way to lag people out (which is an exploit), but I do have to admire the care and attention that they've put into placing all of them, it's beautiful :D

    The same way you deal with any other POS. Other than the graphical load, there's nothing special about this one. Get a bunch of dreads, reinforce it, kill any warp disrupting batteries that have you pointed, GTFO, logoffski.
