    Just wanted to say this video got me back into Eve Online. Like many people who tried Eve then gets bored because of the learning curve or sandbox gameplay, I played a few months then left. A couple of years later i saw this video and got me interested in Eve again. That was about 2 years ago now. Now ive killed thousands of ships thats worth trillions ISK. Killed everything from frigates to titans and saw empires rise and fall. I joined small fights to epic space battles that lasted hours or even days. I met people from across the world playing this game. I guess what im trying to say is, Thank you so much for this video because if wast for this, i wouldn't give Eve another shot.

  • @MrNightRa

    So the modules won't start taking damage till you activate them and you uncloak and that is all off your based off your thermodynamic skill lvl and such. I would most def recommend maybe if they are to get you again and you enter high sec then warp to a random asteroid belt and just practice stay cloaked and over heating everything then pick some random npc and nuke them with torps and have everything over heated. If you are doing mining barges and stuff I don't recommend over heating your point or any mids just your guns. (will save you some isk on repairs) either way awesome videos and I enjoy watching you squirm going " ooooh this is a bad idea" makes me laugh every time!

    Oh man, the Evemail at the end made it all worth it. I feel you being cautious there. I wouldn't have been worried about the Retriever itself, but her corpmates who might be hanging out cloaked at warp distance waiting for someone to take the bait. My corp sometimes does that with a Venture, orbiting and mining until someone shows up for the "easy kill." Of course, the Venture has a Point, then everyone else warps in, hunter becomes the hunted... ;)

    Nice! Great video. I have been playing for years, but just getting into the solo SB aspect of the game, so this was very helpful. Quick question, as a 3 month old player, how were you able have all those active mods on the SB? Those probe launchers take up almost all your CPU, no? I can not have all those mods active with even a 50mil SP pvp char. What type of probe launcher are you using? And that mail, was the cherry on top. A move I will likely adopt :-)

  • @JasonRego

    @JasonRego

    I think he was just using a core probe launcher which is light on the CPU, if he had a combat probe launcher he would have used that to find them instead of just dscan.

  • @Slotered
    @Slotered10 жыл бұрын

    Hey WiNGSPAN, how would you compare the strategic aspect of AC multiplayer and EVE Online? Before you jump on me, I understand that they are completely different type of games, but judging from your videos, it seems like strategically they're not too far apart. Now, I know it takes a lot more time and practice to understand certain things in EVE, but which one do you think requires more skill to beat veteran players and less OP weapons/abilities/etc?

  • @wingspantt

    @wingspantt

    10 жыл бұрын

    Slotered, it's not a bad question at all. The main difference between these games is that ACMP is structured and EVE is not. When you are playing ACMP, you know there are 3-7 other players who are set up in a very specific way to kill you. You are all playing the same "game" with the same rules and GENERALLY the same tools. In EVE, there are anywhere between 0 and 2000 other players around you at any time. Any of them could technically be hostile to you, and except for some circumstances (like war declarations and alliances) there is no way to know who is "good." In fact even your allies could fire on you at any time, and a hostile player may pass you up for their own reasons.Some players are itching to blow you up, others would do anything possible to avoid a fight. Some players never even undock from space stations. As far as balance goes, games like ACMP will always be more balanced because there is a set structure and timer, and everyone starts in a set place with again GENERALLY similar tools. Any MMO by comparison will be different because some people have thousands of allies, or expensive weapons, or have trained skills very high compared to a new player. However, EVE is 10x more balanced than other MMOs when it comes to this disparity for two reasons. First is that every player-owned asset is destroyable. So even if some guy has a 10-billion ISK ship with 10-billion ISKs of personal implants, if you blow up his ship and his corpse, he loses it all. It isn't like most MMOs where you find the Legendary Sword of Pwnage once and use it forever. Your "sword" can be broken, or even stolen in many circumstances. The other balancing factor to EVE is the skill system. EVE skills cap out very low, with 80% of their effectiveness only taking 2 days max to achieve. This means in a fight with a person playing for three months and someone playing three years, the 3 year player will only be slightly more powerful despite playing 12x longer. This system also means there is a limitation in EVE by ship role. You can have 5 years of training and be able to perfectly fly 100 ships, but the fact is you can only fly 1 ship at a time. Which means someone who has trained to perfectly fly 1 ship in 1/12 the time can fly just as well as the person with a billion skill points. Here I killed players who can probably fly ships that would tear my bomber to pieces, but unlucky for them I attacked when they are flying something weak to bombers. Does that answer your question?

  • @Slotered

    @Slotered

    10 жыл бұрын

    WiNGSPAN TT I think yes. And I'll take that as "EVE is harder" I guess. I was a big fan of ACMP back in a days when it was fresh and unique. I absolutely loved the sense of danger and uncertainty of it (usually wanted/deathmatch). The fact that it was all about reading your player and knowing when to strike and when to back off. So many great memories. And that's where I see the similarities, because it looks like there is as much of a "danger and uncertainty" in EVE as one could possibly stomach. Looks like EVE is an MMOs done right, and it's truly beautiful, both artistically and mechanically, much like ACB. I'm not an MMO kind of a person myself, but if I ever jumped into one, I think it'd be this game. Btw, that kill mail you sent was hilarious xD You know how to entertain your audience, WiNG, that's for sure. And I'm already seeing you moving up to be the 3rd best commentator on youtube. Who does that guy think he is?

    centralofmental The thrill of the hunt. I remember when I killed my first Buzzard... I had to wait and keep looking for prey in numerous systems, took 3 days but eventually I got him. It was hilarious, he dropped a sisters scanner probe too and I tricked him into paying me ransom as well, lol.

    Retrievers have a big ore bay, low defenses, Procurers have very high defenses, and a medium sized ore bay. EDIT: I really need to watch the entire video before I start commenting.
