    I just started playing Eve online again today. I managed to find a wormhole and thought "Why not?" so I went through, warped to a random moon instantly, and tried to find other anomalies. within 20 seconds a random player blew me the fuck up lol

    A bit late to give an advice ? its recomended not to warp at 0 near any celestial object, if they Dscan and figure out your exactly near one of those they will show up almost immediately , what you need to do is warp to an object, bookmark your ship "curent" location and you'll have a place to warp at in between 2 objects at a decent distance, then they need to Combat Probe Scan your location wich depending on your ship size and some other factors will take a while for them to pin point your location. If you want to go full paranoid level safety, make several bookmark points and warp betwen them every few minutes and that should give pusuers a hard time finding you. (all this in case you dont have cloak device)

    Yes, jump to the furthest point away from a random location, especially a location nestled within another. Then bookmark the location of an object - an asteroid in an asteroid field next to a planet with a POC. Then use a combination of the sites you've scanned, WH entrances, and saved locations to jump around while you scan. You should only stop moving if its a barren WH or you are exploiting a site.

    Avelino Silva Guerrero depends on a lot of factors, but if you're just starting out in wormholes I recommend going for a cloaky frigate at first. If you want to go do combat sites as well I'd recommend a cruiser, maybe even a recon. At least in C1s and C2s :)

    I came here for a little nostalgia. Between 2011 and 2012 I spent 6 months in a C3 WH with a null sec static in my solo corp. That was the best time I had in Eve. Managed to fund my subscription for over two years with the proceeds I earned. The thrill of jumping in to the unknown never left me. Even after 6 months of going back and forth between known space and unknown space, passing through that glowing colored mass in space, always send a shiver up and down my spine. BTW, I don't know today, but at my time a null sec static was the best static you could have, even if at first glance doesn't sound like that. Matter of fact is that generally speaking null sec guys are not WH hunters. My worst threats always came from other WH and from the occasionally hi sec/low sec WH opening from time to time. Anyway, nice video mate, liked.

    Just found my comment from 3 months ago when I was starting out and didn't know what I was doing, saying how good this video is (it's still so relevant in 2021). Since my first comment I've been mining and hacking in Wormholes, been popped a few times and just done the first Corporation wormhole event for players who've never been in one. Got an Astero these days 🙂 and I couldn't imagine my Eve experience without Wormhole diving.

    I watched this video after finding what appeared to be a C2 or C3 WH so fairly standard from what I've gathered so far. Fully insured, I was prepared to lose my ship. Didn't have probe scanner as I was only intending to pop in and out for a first visit. All fine, jumped in and out, D-Scanned and no threats nearby, bookmarked my exit. Can't wait to go back to WH space when I'm less of a noob. Thanks for this video (especially checking out the location on zkillboard).

    When you find a wormhole, and you click on it and select "show info", you always get the same text for the same class of wormhole. So the stuff that says "This wormhole is beginning to decay, and probably won't last another day" is just standard boilerplate text. It doesn't really tell you anything significant at all. All wormholes start to "decay" as soon as they appear, and none of them are permanent. The vast majority of them evaporate after about 24 hours.

  • @Daegarn

    @Daegarn

    2 жыл бұрын

    At least at the time this video was made, this is false. The wormhole had a few different stages, at the end of the decay period the text changed to "about to collapse". And also when the wormhole was about to be massed.

    I would love a guide on how WH corps are organized. What is a standard setup of modules for POS? Do you have multiple POSes and why? How is fueling the POS handled and payed for? +ChuckNoctis i found my POS setup on a russian eve site. its basically a sensor dampening/warp disruptor setup. with laser turrets for the blapping. it really works great. my POS is insanely hard to lock onto, and if they uncloak, they get scrammed, disrupted, and dampened. most ships ive seen sniffing around last about 5 seconds. a harbinger managed to hang on for almost 10 though haha

  • @Daegarn

    @Daegarn

    ryelor123 Good question, you need an alt in there in case you get locked out so you can check in which system the static appeared. Also POS no longer exist at this point, it's all citadels now and I have no idea about the dynamic of these. Best of luck!

    I decided to try ninja hacking a sleeper relic site in my anathema, figured I'd get maybe one can then warp off. Maybe 10 seconds later my poor anathema was in pieces. Nice video, I'll definitely check out more.

  • @Daegarn

    @Daegarn

    9 жыл бұрын

    Yeah I wouldn't recommend doing sleeper sites in a frigate :) the cans in there are not even worth much anyway, except the derelict talocan frigate (it's a hacking can, not an npc). But in order to do that you'll have to get rid of the sleepers first. I'd stick to the Pirate relics since the sleeper relic and data sites are all about the salvage, not the cans.

  • @titotheninja
    @titotheninja8 жыл бұрын

    id say the best piece of advice for exploring WHs, is assume someone is in a cloaky ship and just about to jump you. always be ready to warp out at a moments notice. Dscan helps, but dont trust it. always have your people and places open, and be ready to warp. (ive been living in a C1 for the last 6 months, thinking of moving to a C2-3, in my alt corp)

  • @Daegarn

  • @killzsik

    @killzsik

    8 жыл бұрын

    +cozmo88 yes ghost sites exist, and it is important to know that a majority of sites in wormhole systems have sleepers, but not ALL. You just need to search for sites that have another npc faction name in them "Guristas Ruined Monument Site" for example. It takes more time to search for those empty ones, but they are certainly out there

    I used to make a living in EVE finding wormholes and mapping shortcuts to Jita and helping corporations by escorting them there. Made a fair few trillion in this way, as PVE and PVP still eludes me as to the combat capabilities. I've only really commited to one corp driven POS, and nobody else seemed care to level up their scanning skills to find exit wormholes. Needless to say when I started to play it less and less, I earned quite a bit of flack from my corp mates when I wasn't there when they needed me.

    Do you have a probe launcher? You could scan down another wormhole and check out where it goes, eventually you'll find a high sec hole in the chain. Look for a C1, those usually have high sec statics. It's possible that after the collapse another static spawned if you're in such a system. If you don't have probes the only option is self destructing your pod.

    So, from my understanding, a Wormhole is a Jump/Star Gate. I found my first one by sheer accident in Sasio in Caldari Space, and it took my to Akila in Amarr Space. So, its not some place inbetween, where its packed with loot and stuff, and when the Wormhole Collapses, you dont die?

    How do you activate the 30 day trial? I only found links for a 21 day trial. But either way, I've been told it's still possible to get the 1.2 bil ISK for PLEX in that much time, at Exploration. I'm 2 days in to a 21 day, got my relevant skills up to level 3, working on Archaeology 4 now. In your opinion, how wise/stupid is it to go in with a Heron without cloaking skills? Especially if you are prepared to lose it, are you able to still make some rich discoveries with a basic frig?

  • @Daegarn

    @Daegarn

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Makarov Rassledov Yeah apparently they changed it to 21 days. You are definitely able to go and do exploration in a basic frigate in wormholes no problem at all. I would even go as far as encouraging it. DO IT. It is one of the most profitable activities in EVE while risking barely anything (potential 500 million payouts vs 1 million frigate). Going in and making up your mind you already lost the ship is once you press the 'jump' button is the best thing you can do. The extra profits are a nice plus. Just make sure to bookmark the wormholes, watch dscan, abide to these rules religiously, and even in case people hunt for you you can still easily get out. I would recommend making a bookmark in the middle of your warp (a safespot) where you can warp if you see someone on dscan. Also put dscan on a hotkey (i use middle mouse button) so you can spam it continuously. If you see combat probes on dscan do not stay on the safespot though or they will find you. In that case warp to the wormhole at zero and spam that jump button to get out. You'd find other wormholes and cans to hack that are safe. Good luck in EVE. If you play it right you will plex your account in those 21 days with ease. o7

    After you pass through a wormhole you can turn around and go right back through, kind of like burning back towards a gate. However, once you've already gone through both directions, you'll incur a timer that prevents passing through it for 2 minutes. Helps to keep folks from camping both sides of a hole, and slows the rate at which high-mass ships can repeatedly splash through a hole to purposefully collapse it

    EVE is pay to play for now, but on my channel page you can find a referral link to play 30 days free. If you make enough money in game you can buy plex which will give you a months game time on your account.

    Why are you griefing the Magnate? You killed his ship; ok. But you also killed his capsule and then the cargo. Just because it is Eve Online and just because you are stronger that doesn't mean you can't be immoral.

  • @Daegarn

    @Daegarn

    Seems to me you didn't listen to the video very well, if wormhole space was 100% safe the loot would be worthless. The magnate is the one taking the risk, and the risk versus reward is really good since a magnate is so cheap. You can earn your magnate back in multitudes from a site.

    @@Daegarn Ah, delusional Eve logic to justify any immoral act. You are literally saying that if you didn't kill the Magnate, and then grief him, the devs would have to come in and ruin the loot of the Magnate. If you ever get fucked over in the real world, I hope that other person applies that logic to you and we will see how sweet those tears are.

    It's not for everyone :) The learning curve puts most people off. It's pretty hardcore. If you think you can deal with it, give it a go. Find yourself a corp and get into it. If not, well, then don't :)

    Daegarn I'm not afraid of complex games. I just think that this game has too much grinding :/. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's not only my opinion. Doing one thing over and over for a long period of time doesn't amuse me. I understand that sometimes it is worth, because it gives a lot of satisfaction if you achieve something which is time consuming and requires constructive thinking. But is it really worth it? If you spend most of your time in this particular game probably yes. But if someone plays many different games and can't afford to stay for too long in one game, just to get this tiny little bit of that game? Does this game have a place for such a person?

  • @Daegarn

    +TheDarkFighterek it all depends on what you enjoy doing. Eve is a sandbox, that's the biggest appeal to the game for most people. There's a place for many playstyles. You can play half an hour a day and still be successful. It's just all about how you fill it in yourself.

    Daegarn Thank you, your opinion is actually pretty helpful. To be honest, I was quite impressed when I saw this game, it has many aspects which I enjoy. I was worried if it takes a lot of time to get to those aspects. Maybe I'll try it sometime, if this game was free I wouldn't have this problem.
