The dumbest thing I've ever done happened just a little over a week ago. I was in HiSec in a Marauder class Paladin, assisting a Drake with a Gala combat site. I Preloaded my turrets then clicked on an enemy NPC in my overview who had died just before I clicked to lock it. As a result, I fired on the Drake because my safety was turned off. Along came CONCORD, and away went about 2 billion ISK. RIP

Who the hell flies in HS with safety red?

An excellent tutorial (?) =, should be made mandatory for everyone starting off, and for veterans too! Been on Eve for 13 years: 1. Lost a Nergal to the burner because didn't notice that my cap battery was offline - capped out 2. Lost a Nergal to the burner because forgot to turn off the MWD - 500% bloom 3. Lost a Nergal to the burner because forgot to launch the drones 4. Lost a Nergal to the burner because was in the wrong fit 5. Lost a Stabber to the Concord for attacking a Venture in HS whilst thinking it was low sec 6. Missed a hauler kill because forgot to activate the scram 7. Lot a 2B Mach to NPCs in a lvl 4 mission because I was not paying attention to my pathway and got caught in a maze of asteroids.

I didn't make the mistake, but while I was brand new I was mining in high sec, with a miner set for speed and warp ability. A guy pulled right next to me to try to gank me, and just as he was opening fire, I was just hitting warp to my station, just 1 short jump away. Came right back, and looted his corpse after CONCORD blasted him. I put a 10mil bounty on him after, just for good measure 😂

One thing you missed is, if you target a 'suspect' and manage to take them down, you are engaged for a 15minute time period and if your undocked the player you killed can freely engage you.

Hey man, I blame my potato laptop during 10%tidi for my first Tengu slowboating into the enemy fleet. "Let that idiot die in silence." Thanks FC haha. Another time I lent a buddy my rattlesnake while we tested the new noc miner mechanic in HS. While waiting for a third friend to join us he shoots fireworks at me. Then he fires missiles on me when we begin because he forgot to unlock me. RIP rattlesnake. Good times.

Hehe, you forgot the "I trigger a bubble by accident trapping my own fleet and the enemy gets away." 😁 Although this obviously applies to null and WH.

I think the dumbest thing I have ever done, was popped through a wh from another.... and there was a camp of 3 others... I ran back through the wh to where I came from, and forgot (thought I had) to warp after recloaking and had an eon to escape but got decloaked by a collision lol

One of the dumbest thins I've done (ok 2): 1. I autopiloted out from a low sec pocket in a black ops ship and afked thinking i was in a pod... Came back and realized I was tackled on a gate... Lol 2. I undocked in a Kronos (marauder for those that didn't know), warped to a fight and realized... I don't have an armor rep... (Switched it to my black ops ship).... Still upset i did that...

I was a new player and got ganked in an Iteron at one of the choke point systems on my way to jita with meta4 mods I'd salvaged. Very low isk stuff really. Well the guy that jumped me did so just because he was bored. He said as much in system chat. I put a 1M kill right bounty on him and forgot about it. Two weeks later I get a notice that the kill right has been used. When I checked it the guy had lost a Jump Freighter. Evidently he had forgotten about it too. 🤭

I see PVP as a chaotic bear party with drunks and loud mouth chatters boxes lashing about with their personal stories of ill gotten gains.

I laughed so hard when you talked about the modules left off. I felt so stupid when it happened to me 😂😂😂 Fly safe o/

1. 1:08 Forgetting to bring ammo & consumables (like cap boosters) 2. 2:02 Undocking with a module that is offline (burnt repaired modules default offline, or clone without an implant) 3. 3:33 Failing to lock the target (warp in sensor interference can mess with this) 4. 4:04 Forgetting to fire on the target (Eve Online tick delay can mess with this) 5. 4:29 Forgetting to turn on essential modules (Prop mods + Hardeners) 6. 5:04 Forgetting to launch and use combat drones (Make sure to have them attack too) 7. 5:38 Attacking players in lowsec at gates/stations and getting wreckt by NPC turrets (review suspect / criminal engagement rules) 8. 6:44 Going AFK in dangerous space (even in a "safe" spot you can be scanned down with combat probes and warped too) 9. 8:15 Paying no attention to where your ship is going (moving by accident away from gates, flying past enemies, zoom out and see the battlefield) 10. 9:31 Shooting friendlies (shooting your fleet commander by accident, logi sending drones on their targets) 11. 10:25 Attacking in Hi-Sec not realizing you're in Hi-Sec (low/null sec players change that security button to yellow at least) 12. 11:02 Choosing the wrong fight

13: not having an adequate understanding of how drunk your friends are. I once nailed down two Brutix Navys while I was in a curse. My friends were "on the way". I've Got the BNIs capped and we have entered drone slap fight mode. The guys in alliance that I was in comms with then began having the most ludicrous drunken argument over what ships are the best to beat a BNI. R.I.P. Curse, you were replaced.

In my first PvP battle I was doing an explo site in an astero I locked him but I forgot to change target from the can leading to the drones attack that and not him so I died

The 2 most ignorant things i've done in this game is flying into a WH after bookmarking only the hisec end of it, fly in a would-be ratting ship, kill some pirates and notice: where is that wh, not in locations, not in the anomaly list... 2nd thing is flying through a lowsec bottleneck in a not fully fit ship, getting the parts for that ship...

If you are still looking for an alliance that will get your feet wet in pvp while taking the time to teach you, Kybernauts is a good group to check out. EVEmail "Atlas Hex" in game if you want to apply. Note: We do require positive Triglavian standings as we live in Pochven, but we can help you get that in a matter of minutes so long as you haven't spent time going out of the way to kill them. Edencom positive standings are recommend but not mandatory for now.

I'll never forget losing my battleship by escorting my friends Indy ship through one low sec system.. there was no need to escort as it was such a cheap Indy lol... I could of gotten away had I just jumped back into a safe system but I fired a shot ..,. also shot a gate once in an empire war. learnt from both lol

the flying off in a random diriection thing is not only a misclick issue but I found can also be a hotkey issue, my eve-o preview uses the numbers 1, 2, 3 to quickly switch between my 3characters, somehow my hotkey for 1 also got set to approach so every time I would switch to my main it would start randomly approaching whatever I had selected last. drove me insane till I figured out what it was. can happen when people accidently hit q as well as I think q is the original hotkey

i lost a cerebus in the abyss lvl2 cuz i bounced off a rock and flew off into the forbidden zone.... watch those edge cans lol ...great video bro.

...and gate guns have infinite tracking speed 😢 frigates usually are insta-popped by lowsec gate guns ... bah....lesson learned 😢 My biggest loss was my faction fit, passive armor tanked Vindicator after mistakingly warping into a drifter battleship beacon. Not even my overloaded, fancy-dancy microwarp drive could get me out range of his web. Using my long range 90% web did little to nothing to slow it down. So I overloaded the top rack of fancy-dancy neutron blasters, stripped off all his shield in the first volley, hit armor and the second volley didn't even scratch it 🙄. He then one-vollied all my armor and hull 🤯😢😭 15bil down the tubes. Done with EvE. That was one of my inclusion ships. Top of the line...I did manage to get my high grade slave set out but still, I heard drifters were allowed to pop a pod, even in highsec, so, farewell to EvE...what a rip-off 🤬 iirc I had 4 or 5 officer blasters on that ship 😢 Drifters were bran spanking new to the game and I told my fleet, I was an armor tank incursion fleet commander at the time. I told my fleet to stay out, don't try to save me. Might lose the whole fleet. I spent a month on the test server figuring out how to hunt drifters and was successful using a Deimos but bye bye 👋 EvE anyway. The Deimos could 1v1 a drifter battleship and 5 v 1 cruiser gangs but still, sick of EvE

If I log out undocked my ship is safe??

Fell asleep. Woke up in a pod. That's my habit. Happened exactly 3 times in every month. I have learned to stop doing that though. I now just dock and quit.

The dumbest thing I ever did was fly a firetail directly into a red flashing gnosis.

Forgetting to stop overloading mods. This happens to me often.

Don't put bounties on gankers. They will simply kill themselves with an alt and pocket that ISK. You are literally paying them. in fact I wouldn't mess with bounties at all as it is simply to easy for players to turn it to their own advantage.

Yes, these obvious and silly mmistakes happen often, but... i was hoping i would learn some less obvious but common mistakes from this video... taking up first 4 or 5 spots with the "DUH!" ones seems a bit like a waste of time and potential to actually teach people something...

i have had russian anom farmers lock me up a couple times in high sec... then nek minnit.. they shoot me.. and concord saves me..

#1 mistake is playing EVE online. you can't loose at EVE if you don't play eve!

I've been playing eve now over 12 years, had 11 accounts, both PvP, Indy, Mining, PvE you name it I've done it. Been into wars from Fountain War to simple Faction Warfare. And if there is one boring side of game that IS PVP. I literally like everything else in the game but PvP. That is just so damn stupid in this game. I usually told my friends if you like PvE kinda game Eve is for you. If you like PvP then you are in a wrong place.

I was doing some single frigate 1v4 arena fights a while back and went to get another breacher. Manually added drones, a mod or two, but then used the Fit Ship button to speed up the process. The fit I had saved did not have any drones. I undocked and headed into the arena, moved towards the first opponent, and noticed I couldn't see the drone window. Tried to figure out which hot key opens the drone window, and then realized it wasn't there b/c there were no drones. So, autofitting a saved fit that has no drones will throw out drones that are already in your ship! Not nearly the same magnitude as that Paladin loss described by @DisturbedKid47 :_( but still something to note.

The first mistake is playing the game.

If you are doing any of these mistakes then... you are never going to improve in PVP because you are not even doing the most basic things.

I solo PvP all the time, and still manage some dumb ones. Like only having enough paste for one rep load, or taking my Crystal clone to nullsec on accident... The important thing is learning from them, and just having fun!

@@capnchronic408 I've been blog- and guide-reading after watching his video on 'How CCP ruined my career [path]; I think that they are trying more 'gimmicky' stuff to keep the game fresh and attract new & dormant players. This year's releases seem aimed at more easily onboarding newbs so they don't get overwhelmed or discouraged, and enticing players to do more combat. Whenever a game that's not combat-driven (Eve has plenty of that, but it's not a necessary part of playing) starts to promote the combat experience, I sense the beginning of the end.

Win by not playing. Or play like a god and complain that the game is dieing because there are to few sheep left to statpad on and playing at 110% does not give back the return endorphin rush from back in the day. Even the f2p sheep are a pitfull sight to hotpach this decline of tryharding.

I've seen other guides that are far less informative, more nìche in their content (here's my ship & fittings, here's how I make ISK, etc.), or just poorly narrated. This is one video I would definitely include in a tutorial playlist.

Horrible interface, micromanaging ... Can't do stuff without the RPG skill tree. Wonder when these people are going to realize the huge server is cool... And that's about it. Star Trek Armada.. is better.

I'm a Star Trek fan, and I have no interest in Armada. The idea of one person directing all aspects of Starship operation is ludicrous. Compared to the way Starship Creator was designed (it was terribly executed, that concept should be revisited), Armada is oversimple.
