The MFB actually sits on Bentley's facility at the moment. Jeremy wasn't allowed to keep it because it's not road legal.

@@kavinsp Yes, he kept it for a little while and then Bentley took it back. The option for Bentley was to dismantle it or kept it in a showcase. Bentley chose to showcase it on their facility.

I buy both of them but I'd sort out the rough edges on the excellent tho and sort the imperfections out even tho I'm not a big fan of Bentleys but I like that one

James crashing that Evo VIII into that wall is the most haunting memory I have from the trio ever 😭😭

I don’t usually like yellow cars but I think that evo was pretty and seeing it crashed was horrifying. Not to mention, the evo was one of my childhood dream car 😭

I dont know what happened this car but if Mitsubishi have a museum that should be trying to get their hands on it. Like that Hilux it proves that the Evo was bulletproof

@@eurogaelThe Evo (going from UK road laws) was a write off from the tunnel crash due to how much the chassis was bent during the crash. It's mentioned by a producer or one of the trio in one of the after show clips they put out iirc.

the Lancia was a problem child no? it survived to the end sure, but broke down constantly for no good reason the Evo survived 2 events that would have totalled most vehicles

The Lancia was a wreck from start to finish, like it even broke down in the starting village... and the only reason Clarkson got it was because it was the only Lancia in the entire country and because he thought that rally pedegree would mean something... which it didn't.

If you're going to name a car from the Botswana Special, Oliver was a better candidate. It only suffered one bad event the whole time while the Lancia and Mercedes had loads of problems.

Pepe Panda never fails to amaze me

John: A kit car that took like 3 days to build, never had major mechanical problems once apart from a fuse that blown when the lights turned on and successfully made it to town after like 4 days of driving off road. Mitsubishi Evo: Crashed once in a tunnel injuring James but was working again and bogged down at a frozen lake but successfully made it with the driver’s door and the front bumper missing. Bentley Continental MFB: Is designed specifically for off road terrain in places like Madagascar, comes equipped with a winch, a spare tyre, and two jerry cans. It overheated once but wasn’t lost in the journey like Hammond’s Ford Focus Tank. Right now, the MFB became a response vehicle in Clarkson’s Farm. The Excellent: Used to be the MGD with an MG body on a Land Rover Discovery chassis until it broke apart and replaced with a Mercedes SL body. It has no working instruments apart from a separate speedometer and probably the transmission. It was sold on an auction at 4,000 quid but Clarkson took it back anyways. Fiat 4X4 Panda Sisley: One of James’s favourite cars. It’s light, small, and named “Pepe”.

Honest camaraderie and a great show. Wasn't expecting that Mitsubishi to get through honestly.. did shed a tear for awhile but the end credits was hilarious.

The Mongolia special is still one of my favorite episodes…along with when they played Battleship and got stuck in a time loop xD

its either the MFB or the Evolution. MFB tackled the harshest road on earth but keeps going on, while keeping the driver comfortable and posh. That Evolution in particular, god has tried to kill it twice, and failed both times.

That Panda really leveled its adversaries.

That EVO is utterly unstoppable

The sight of James driving the Evo (possibly the coolest car ever) through the tunnel gives me flashbacks of the hot wheels movies! 🤣

These 3 together on any show I would watch!

Top gear and grand tour holds many of my greatest television memories. Iconic.

John will always be my favourite, probably the most reliable car they ever had and they built him their selves

The vehicle would have been constructed by the props/production design department (or more likely outsourced to a specialist company). It’s called ‘The Magic of television’. Just ask anyone who’s ever worked in TV production. Still a great show though!

The clay/mud car from season 1. Could not stop laughing that episode.

It was amazing when the evo went into the water and they where able to get it out with just trees and straps.

Thank god the MFB is still in existence at the Bentley Facility on permanent display in a locked glass room for all to see it’s majestic work done by one of the legends of TOP GEAR and The Grand Tour.

James Caterham was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen as far as off roading goes

The MFB is the goat. All the posh and luxuries while mudding along.

I would love to see how the breaking on the Bentley was affected. That car has like 10 piston breaks on the front to slow down that monster V8. Jeremy put Golf GTi 3 piston breaks. Im guessing a half a football pitch would be enough to stop that thing 🤣

The Kit car gets my vote. [add] admittedly, all of those builds are amazing. However, the Mercedes with the Land Rover frame would be very popular in the southern portions of the USA. We did the same thing to Cadillacs.

I'd buy that MFB if I could, but I'll probably have to settle for the Panda.

I read that after filming, John was sadly scrapped as they couldn’t take him back to the UK.

I felt physical pain when James crashed the Evo. Car was a beast tho
