There is a grand tour game, and this bridge is one of the hardest levels. I had Richard fall off so many times lol
I'm staggered that the show's insurance people allowed this filming.

@@B2Roland the signs saying bridge closed don't imply that. The metal frame is probably in reasonable shape and the deck logs looked to be installed recently, so no rot to worry about. The risk is in driver error since the way is very narrow and has no guard rails.

It helps that James chose a reasonable car for the trip for once unlike Hammond who decided to bring a pick up truck converted (not very well) into a monster truck and he has no concept for anything that’s outside of Birmingham
That's when even Hammond get's grey hair ;-)

@@GryphLane Actually it is crossed often, even by an old recycled School bus for public transportation twice a day. The locals recently started adding 4x8 sheets of metal over top of the wood decking. About 1/3 of it. I know this because I just recently drove this very same route on a 1,000 road trip through the mountains of Colombia
Hammond's hands were actually shaking. Mine would have been, too!

Theres a difference between looking down from a bridge and a plane. It feels different in a plane you know you can glide.

I laughed at the part that Hammond is almost at the end of the bridge then Clarkson randomly said " Who Is That Clipity Clopiting Crossing My Bridge!? ".

I think this is one of the very rare cases where not having a seatbelt would be safer because even if you survive a fall you're just going to drown with vehicle It's weird how in very rare circumstances not following safety can actually save your life

For a few moments, I thought Jeremy was talking about the car brand Jaguar.
And I thought Jackie Chan and Tom Cruise did crazy stunts...
Jeremy measuring the width of that bridge while almost standing on the outer edge of the plank terrifies me.
This is my favorite TGT special because of how much Hammond reminds me of my father. A small, brown haired man, with an 90s GM truck. Though my dad’s truck wasn’t that eye sore Hammond was driving 😂
Grand tour outtakes. Seriously! I want to see that second and third bridge. If you guys want to keep releasing content despite Covid, give us extended cuts or outtakes. I'd happily watch a 1.30-2 hour extended episode or outtakes.

I recently did a road trip throughout Colombia and drove this very route and crossed these bridges, the one with the wood decking isn't quite as high as Jeremy and Richard was saying, about 40'. But the one with the rails perpendicular was twice as high. It was a fantastic road trip.

That bridge could be used for animals trying to cross. People build bridges just for that reason over highways and rivers especially if the river is very rapid

My theory is it is an actively used bridge, I don’t think they really have the money for bridges just for animals there and also wouldn’t explain all the roads in between the bridges. Animals also don’t tend to like to cross man made bridges like that, the ones for animals are often disguised. Anyway, my theory it is actively used by locals but they can’t afford to put in a safer nicer bridge so they put up those signs saying no one is allowed to use it because then if someone does get hurt they’re not liable for it but it’s not closed off because people still need to use it.
Doesn’t matter where you go on earth there’s always a road, bridge or railway built by the British
Jeremy - "I don't think power is the answer" I have never, EVER heard Clarkson say that. That's how you know this is serious
If I were Hammond that might have been where I drew the line.

I recently drove through that same area crossing those bridges and believe it or not a repurposed School bus used for public transportation crosses that bridge twice a day. Best road trip of my life to date.
