I've noticed on the Pro it doesn't light shots in the same way my LE does. The LE (and I presume also the premium) use RGB inserts which change the colour of the shots you need to make dependant on what you are doing. This helped me figure out at least what I needed to do. You are also using custom code which has overwritten the standard call outs telling you what to do. No denying that this game is hard though. I've managed to just about reach horde mode but it was the game of my life.

Great video Gonz. I had the LE version at one time and it is frustrating. I found out I didn't concentrate too much on those drop targets on the left. I would let the wild ball bounces during multiball or other shots get them for me. Instead I would usually go after the other shots, such as 3 shots up the left ramp to start bicycle girl (which would collect a weapon). Also, don't forget about the zombie head that pops out of the prison. Hit that enough times and you get a nice multiball and you can really accumulate the weapons there. Now if you want to talk about a difficult game, you have to throw Stern's The Mandalorian into the argument. I love both pins (TWD and Mando) and they were both dream themes for me, but Mando takes the cake. I ended up selling my LE and got a Pro later and I loved the pro version of TWD better for some reason, but I ended up trading it for GOTG. Thanks for posting again mate!

Also, during your game you had all of the weapons lit. All you had to do was shoot the ball back into the shooter lane (woodbury shot, or the extra ball shot) and you would have got the Beware the Horde mode I was telling you about. I was cheering for ya mate, but you couldn't hear me scream "HIT THE EXTRA BALL SHOT GONZ!!!"

I've found walking dead has made me a better player and flipper tricks. LE is good fun

One last thing Gonz. Even though I loved the pro version of TWD better than the LE, I really did miss the excellent lights that occurs during the Beware the Horde mode on the LE and Premium versions that wasn't included in the pro. Once obtaining it (collecting all of the weapons), the game pauses and the lights start beating red with the sound of a thumping heart preparing you for the mode. You get a multiball as well as the chance to hit the middle button (not included on the pro) for a walker bomb to help advance to getting the kill count of walkers. One of the best moments in pinball history IMO.

Hey Gnozo, nice to see the game growing on you...was wondering what is your take on virtual pins? iI know that you are the analogue king but with the rising popularity of the hobby plus the general struggle for space that most of us has to deal with, makes the all thing quite attractive...it would benefit the new comers to know how a purist feels about it...Thanks for your work guys

Go for Barn, CDC.. left hand side modes/shots are easier to hit, collect weapons and reach horde!

It's pretty rough. The SDTM drains feel really cheap. At least on AFM there's high rewards for the risk.

I'm another who likes this one! I'd want to own one if it wasn't for the ugly, gory theme. Even though I'm a terrible player, I prefer difficult shots and simpler code, as I can't remember the code and get bored if I'm just knocking the ball around. Frustratingly brutal pins have the same appeal as temple run-style games on mobile phones; the frustration spurs me on to try again. Watching you play has definitely made me want to borrow one for a while :)

@@GonzosPinballFlipperama It's Vee off PinballInfo. I'm in London, so I've got to play at Pinball Republic, The Pinball Office, Chief Coffee, and Brunswick Arcade - plus a few seaside and general entertainment arcades (e.g. Gravity in Wandsworth). Nowhere has an Aerosmith.

I'm not sure it's supposed to be ugly and nasty. I think they're just side effects of some poor design. If it were truly designd to be nasty, they wouldn't have as many ball saves. Starting modes through the drop targets was a very bad idea. It basically pushes the ball sideways, to the outlanes.

One of the most massive changes of opinions I have had was that I didn't like Godzilla first time I played it. I felt that the flippers or....something behaved a bit counter intuitive or something, not sure. But second time I was absolutely sold.

After watching that game I feel I need to set my prem back up 🤔

I would say Lyman's amazing code update a few years back, and Borg's incredible layout make this one of the best Stern's ever, and some of the best code ever written for a pinball machine. So your take on this game is pretty uncommon at the least for an almost universally beloved Stern Title.

I'm far from on my own on this. I know many love it but if it was universally acclaimed it would not have so many negative reviews on pinside. You have to be a really good player to get anything put of this. I'm afraid regular guests here just get frustrated with the ball draining and move on to play Deadpool or Medieval Madness.

I own the pro. I love the code. When you get into a groove, this game is an outright blast. The table can be absolutely unforgiving, though.

Arena is the hardest shot up that ramp..

Sorry, last comment. You're running custom code with missing callouts and then upset you're missing callouts. Lol

Hit the extra ball shot to start horde. That’s the teaser. Difficult shot to carry out after doing all that!

I wasn't aware you could love pinball and NOT love this machine. It is brilliant. Is it hard? Clearly, you must do more than the drop targets. Shame you're so focused on being frustrated by the game rather than exploring the many wizard modes it has to offer.

Truly Brilliant Game. Hard? yes Brutal? yes. But when you get that one game that comes together it's totally unrivalled for me. Horde is amazing and so atmospheric it's a true pinball moment. Bad news is its pretty tough to get to,lol To get the best out of it though you really need to read up on the rules though.

Bzzzt! Wrong answer walking dead is one of the all time great pinball machines - but it requires skill and patience. It has pinball moments that blow the doors off just about every other game out there!

Also I see your settings are quite easy. Your modes are too easy to get to from factory. Mutikills come easier than they should and your ball saver is longer than factory. Ps: multi kills are why you get yellow shots lit. Please check out the rules before you count this out. It is incredible.

I hate the look of these photoshop art package games, around the mid 2000/s or so kinda vibe. Just a general all round sense of laziness and lack of care for any of the property. Lord of the rings works because the layout and gameplay is good but damn the art package sucks haha

It is a intense..you do feel you are fighting the pin..My LE plays faster..lol Well Walker with magnet will throw the ball back at you..
