Yet again Philip was quite amusing while Anna was showing her creative talent. I needed some chuckles. I don't ever want to miss an episode.
Philipp should be worried, Nathan is the influencer now. He steals every scene he is in. And I love his 4th reason for the chipper - it makes noise!! (And you can tell that Nathan and Philip have a great relationship. And the kidding around.)
Glad Philipp has finally found somebody equally as mad as himself in Nathan ... I am still laughing about that "HELP" sign at the end !!!
The copyright for the wallpaper will have definitely expired, so you’ll be able to recreate it. If you can find out who made it, it’s possible that the company might still have an archive, or have passed their archives to a museum, with (a) the original woodblocks still surviving, and (b) a paper record of the exact design, who purchased it etc. The V&A has some remarkable wallpaper archives for British wallpaper (by the manufacturer Cowtan and Tout). Dr Wendy Andrews (Cambridge) is the expert on these. In France there was also a big guild of ‘painters and paperhangers’ controlling the wallpaper trade and they might be worth looking up too.

Phillip, Clematis requires its roots to be sheltered from the sun. Either underplant the clematis with other plants or place a large stone on the roots to keep the roots from overheating. Additionally, apply only a thin layer of your newly shredded wood chips as fresh wood chips can affect temperature, soil pH, and soil nitrogen levels. From an avid gardener in the US.
That degree in Philosophy....useful
I so enjoy the "humor" of this vlog! Along with the history, diy info and just fun. The filming style is so great, it keeps me coming back again and again!
I have enjoyed joining your journey. You have separated yourselves from the "pack" and I think bring a great mix of story, DIY, and very drole humor. I really look forward to your episodes. Thank you so much!
love Nathan in the videos, these are a tv show worthy episodes !
Ha Ha! The miserable landlord and his virtuous wife...perhaps Nathan will inscribe something on a wall regarding the removal of nettles.
A really great vlog today! The wood chipper is excellent and you'll use it often! The old wallpaper is such a beautiful design.....I can see why you wanted to remove it carefully and keep it in tact! It would be lovely to recreate the paper for the hallway and even feature it in some other places. Framing some of the original salvaged pieces would make an interesting collage of history.....different sizes and designs of beautiful gold leafed frames......It would really accent the wall from which the old paper came. Love the humor that Phillips ads to your vlogs! Bravo!
Agapanthus would be beautiful in the well-house trough planter-it would provide some height and they like being constricted in their pots, so a perfect place for them.
I REally do hope YOU SAVE THAT WALLPAPER DESIGN. IT REALLY IS BEAUTIFULL AND WILL LOOK LOVELY IN YOUR HOME
Love love love!!! The wallpaper is fantastic Anna!!!! Poor Nathan!!! Thank you guys so much, love from Nebraska America!
Fantastic episode as always! When sawing off branches, you should make a cut on the underside first so that the bark of the tree isn't stripped by the weight of the falling branch.

We used to own a chipper almost as large as yours. A bit smaller. I named her Edna. She was amazing. Transformative. Hope you have many a noisy, empowered, transformative afternoon in your garden.
You are absolutely correct about the Stupid Sycamore trees - they are everything you said. I live in Southern California and it took over 4 years to get rid of all the little trees that popped up in my yard from the seedlings from my neighbor’s sycamore . . . 4 years AFTER they removed it from their front yard‼️🌳 And the root system is crazy how deep it goes immediately.
Wow Phillip got close to that badger!! They dont have very good eyesight and the wind must have been blowing away from Phillip to be able to get so close. Cool!

Phillip and Nathan the two funniest people and the main reason I watch this vlog.
As we know, philosophy has always been very useful for groundskeepers: If a tree falls in the woods... etc. Never thought it might extend to dominating the functioning of machinery though. Maybe thats why I always mess up appliances, I always think: I´m going to break this. And lo and behold, the damn thing malfunctions. Mystery solved, thank you Philipp. This vlog is pure gold! Anna, I´m in awe of your care, focus, perseverance and creative fearlessness!

The plantings around the well house are looking nice and the color will be a pretty site as you drive in from the main road. There is one suggestion that would turn the eyesore into something to compliment the chateau and that is clean off the roof of the well house. Philipp, I enjoy watching you work in the garden and keeping the vegetation under control. Remember to pay Nathan very good wages for the work he does so you don't loose him to someone else.
I just love your vlog.Philip is such a laugh and then discovering treasures on the walls. Perhaps photograph the old paper and with your skills have it copied. Do hope it is tongue in cheek putting a child down the well and locking up your helper. Wonderful. More please.. it is all natural especially the fire alarm. Keep safe.
