It’s actually the officials fault. They were lined up in the wrong lane to begin with....both teams handed off in the same lane

When they’ve made it this far they know full well what they’re doing. When they showed the top view on the curve everyone was in the proper lane. They should’ve never gotten the all clear to run if they were lined up wrong. You can see the girl look confused coming into her handoff and veering over into the other lane

I was thinking the exact same thing. The official didn’t line them up the right way. Lane 7 and 6 were definitely in the wrong lanes.

Actually, you can see at 1:40 that they are in the right lanes at the start, but then ran straight rather than following the curve. That's not the officials fault, unless the official told them to run straight, which is doubtful. They are 8 and under though. It's an easy mistake to make and they'll learn from it.

It seems that the second leg runner in lane 6 drifted back into lane 7. I assume she was confused with what lane she was in because of the straight lines intersecting with the curves. You can see once she turn to run forward she kept running straight across lanes 6 and 5 into lane 4. I assume this was the first time she ran at that part of the track.

Thundercat came flying thru at the end...that lil girl got some speed on her

The run down of at the very least 30 meters was AWESOME!! She did that! But I love the sportsmanship at the end. Great job ladies

The one running down is disqualified though, because of the first hand-off that violated the rules.

They didn’t place that second leg baby in the correct lane

Actually, you can see at 1:40 that they are in the correct lane, but ran straight rather than following the curve. They are young and they'll learn from it.

No. She was already in the wrong lane. The second lane runs the straightaway. The first leg almost fell because she ran the curve, and her teammate was in the wrong lane.

Nah. The second leg had a small portion of the curve she had to run but she ran straight instead because the lines confused her. Her running straight right away put her in the wrong lane that’s why the first leg had to bend over backwards to get the baton to her

They were placed in the correct lane. The second runner in pink ran across two lanes because she is clueless (as are you).

Bless her heart ❤️ 2nd leg just took the baton and took the most direct route and said forget a lane I’m out 😂😂 good run though she’ll get it down was probably nervous at 8 yrs old. 1st leg already knew 🤷‍♀️on the handoff and 3rd leg was wondering were she was at till she appeared from lane 2 😯and anchor said she was still gonna get hers in and was out 🏃‍♀️💨

@A.C Chissano 8c 30 meters could change an entire race, as u saw there.... that girl jus lowered her guard coz she was in front. Another 30 meters would have changed the entire race.

This is just cute OVERLOAD! These little ones are all over the track and some of them were running in the same lanes. Wow, this is just awesome. We need more of these videos.

That final kick made me fall off my seat.

They call them babies, and they're better put together than my entire life. I wouldn't be worthy to share a juice box with these bright and talented kids.

It looks like the 2nd leg confused the straight lane with the curved lane. Her starting position was in a place where the 6th lane of the curve intersected with the 4th lane of the straight lane (if they were running the 100 meters or 110 hurdles). She took the straight lane instead of the curved lane.

I assume she drifted back into lane 7 when she saw the first leg approaching. Then she stayed in the straight lane 4. Perhaps the coach put her in that position for the first time so the crisscrossing lines confused her.

Jin Kim most intelligent explains ruin I’ve seen. Finally! Some of these people swear the first leg caused the confusion. NOT TRUE. First leg crossed over to the incorrect lane to get to the incorrectly placed second leg. If first leg remained in her lane like she was supposed to, she would have been handing off to air. 😩

@@theresac.d.9878 If the 2nd Leg had position herself to run the curve all would be good, but instead she started running the straightaway section, therefore 1st Leg had no choice but to follow her. It's an honest mistake, the runner in lane 7 did the same thing.

Much Love&Respect just for them being out there/running.. because at their age I was running the streets!!! They're all winner's including their parents!!!

This is really how my first 4•1 went. I look back & have to laugh. This video brought back memories 😂

Same here. But the sad truth is that I’m a 48 years old fatty with a joint disease, a bad liver and some weird pneumonia the doctors can’t figure out. But damn, if I were young again. I would give it my all. 🇸🇪

Lane four had a great handoff technique. They executed perfectly. The anchor in lane six is just ridiculously fast.

If that team didn’t get disqualified from running in the wrong lane my daughter and her teammates would have not had the opportunity to break the National Record for girls 8 and under 4X100 relay. We (Fort Lauderdale Track Club) dropped the baton in our heat, although we won by a mile it messed up our time.

Infinity fourth leg better keep at it run through middle school high-school and college she could become one of the elites I love when I see fast kids I always think of their future and how far track can take them in life!

I think this is on the officials looks like 2 teams were lined up in lane 4. We coach our kids to always check your lane assignments and have a coach in each exchange zone for primaries

I do track and field. I do a 4x100 and 4x400. We made it all the way to state and also set a school record in the 4x100. At state, it was a stormy and rainy day. They made us do the 4x100 in pouring rain. We dropped the baton, along with 3 other teams. It was unfair and one of the most tragic times of my life.

Sheesh, fast kids. My 4x1 team, which of what consists of me as the starter, a fairly slow second leg, a decent third leg, and our pretty quick anchor, average out at around 1:01, and these kids got 1:03. We gotta start training harder, lol. We are a modified team so we've all had around 2-3 weeks of practice so far.

When I was that age, I was in a zonal sports where they placed us on a relay team minutes before the race began because our zone had no team. We didn't know each other, the rain was pouring, some were falling down in the mud and handed off to the wrong runners who actually accepted the baton! It was a mess! 😅😅
