*ACTUAL THEORY:* The person Emily's mother is so concerned about showing up is her estranged father; the concern is that he's going to show up and _take her_ - a parental kidnapping situation. Notice that Emily's friend sends her a _late_ birthday present. Why is it late? Because they _couldn't give it to her in person_ because she hasn't been in school. Furthermore, the gift comes with a "get well soon" card because Emily's mother has been _lying_ to her school + everyone else and saying that her daughter is _sick._ In reality, Emily's mother is _confining her daughter in their home_ to prevent her father from getting access to her. This is why she instructs Emily to flee to her bedroom if someone knocks at the door - she's not worried about a _dog monster,_ she's worried about Emily's _father_ showing up and taking her away. This is also probably why Emily's friend asked her to film the opening of the gift - he couldn't be there in person to see her reaction to it. Emily's father probably killed Bailey and is the one who rips down the flyers out of rage. Suffering from isolation due to home confinement, as well as the trauma of her family's dissolution, Emily begins to dissociate and starts seeing things that aren't there/rationalizing things in strange ways. Bailey has always been a surrogate for Emily's father - as the thumbnail states: *THE DOG IS DEAD.* He's been dead the whole time. This could be subverted with Emily's _mother_ actually being the bad one and preventing her father from seeing her despite him having visitation rights of some sort. It's ambiguous.

A lot of people don't bring up another disturbing part, is that when Emily is showing pictures from her photo album and we get to her and Bailey, his head is turned at an unnatural angle. Like his neck has been snapped. Took me a few viewings to notice it like that.

My theory is that while Emily was out one day, some random stalker/serial killer murdered the dog, (and took the head with him), snuck into the house after probably scouting it out for a bit, and found the best hiding spot he could....and I think he was hiding there for a pretty long time. He could have tampered with some of the tapes to freak her out even more, he's the one ripping down flyers with help of the random punka$$ teens, and he's the one you see in the crawlspace. He's wearing the actual preserved head of her dog Bailey. I mean he could easily have picked any lock or copy any key right, like this guy is whack It's pretty mershed up

The fact that she stood there staring at it in the crawlspace is terrifying

Theory time: Bailey was never a dog. She thought of it as a lost dog as in those scenarios, the dog is often found safe. The tapes were a coping mechanism. The dog in the crawl space? Fleece jacket, like from the tapes, hallucination maybe?

I agree - the fact that we get distinct evidence that the father is _out of the picture_ (in the story book, she mentions how her mother goes to work and she's alone - no mention of a father). The mother insisting that Emily not answer the door suggests to me that perhaps the father and her split up on bad terms, he kidnapped/killed the dog, and this whole thing is a way for Emily to cope with traumatic collapse of her family. The fact that "he's still out there" could apply to both her missing dog Bailey _and_ the mysterious father figure is also probably not a coincidence. That is my initial impression, at least. Also - pay attention to which lines from the Wegman tapes get emphasized. "We need to change this part" "Had she forgotten?" "You think the dog is still out there?" Those words aren't chosen randomly - there surely a lot to gleam from them. I sorta made light of the lore analysis at the end, just because this is a synopsis video and not a proper theory, but I actually do think the series has _already_ given us most of the clues we need to puzzle out the overarching narrative. ...lot of ambiguous father-figures in my videos lately 😆. First _Angel Hare,_ now _Dog Nightmares._

If you spent even half a second looking at my channel, you'd see that I am by no means desperate for views or attention: I moved away from commentary and into storytelling, and my channel has never been bigger. TRUE STORY: I had an imaginary friend named Senna, I was 5 at the time. She would never speak and only bark but I somehow understood her. She wasn't creepy or disorienting, she was actually very detailed and kind. One day she told me that we shall meet again. I didn't know what ahe meant after that but I never saw her again after that. When I turned 7, A dog named Senna was new to the house and she immediately climbed too me. Same name, was a Yorkie (Senna liked Yorkies) and she never barked. What do you think, coincidence??

Ok so I actually had the same kind of incident but it was a cat now this cat was old and I was four when she died I was told that she went somewhere else and then I started having dreams where the same cat with the same name as the one that died kept appearing in my dreams and would purr in patterns and I understood what she was saying as if she was speaking English she would ask to play games with me one day in my dream she said we would meet again and then never appeared in my dreams again and when I was around eleven to twelve I started seeing a cat and it was a girl and she would come to me instantly and nuzzle me and she would play with me and never bite even when I picked her up but not how your supposed to pick up a cat and she had the same name coincidence I don't think so.

I loved the William Weggman books when I was little. I’ve never heard of these television series. Sometimes I feel like anything can be turned into a creepy analog horror series… especially that damned vacuum from Teletubbies.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! When someone sent me your series I immediately knew I had to talk about it. It's... so uniquely weird - I love it. I'll add a flashing light warning. To be clear (and without going into more medical detail than necessary), I've suffered from multiple tonic-clonic (gran mal) seizures myself and am much more susceptible to flashing lights than most people. The scene in question didn't bother me during editing, so I didn't think anything of it. That said, watching it back now and putting my eye very close to the screen - yeah that's a bit intense. It could bother some people, and it does exceed 3hz as far as I can tell.

When I was 22 my beloved dog went missing, she was everything to me....I went looking for days in the cold rain my heartbroken.... Then something told me to look in my dads trunk and there she was.....dead My dad was an abuser in all respects abs he loved abusing animals ....she had no marks but yea he killed her I'm sure. I'll never get over that or forget it or....my sweet cami. I'm 52 and 30yrs later I still cry over it....& I still rage about my sick father and of course he wouldn't admit it.... I’ve never heard of this series but the crawspace video was one of the most unnerving things I’ve ever watched. The way the light reveals it and the blacked out eyes show something isn’t right, the way it slowly starts crawling towards the camera, almost unnatural… something felt very very wrong about that.
