Thanasis Antetokounmpo has become a punchline on the internet because of his many mistakes on the court as a Milwaukee Buck. People openly call him out for not deserving his roster spot in the NBA. This video looks at how far the disrespect has gone and why those people are actually wrong about his place in the league.

Herb Kohl was a US senators who never accepted a pay rise. He did need that money. His family owns the Kohl's department stores chain. That guy always wanted to keep the Bucks in Milwaukee. He bought the franchise in 1985 keep it in Milwaukee. He also contributed $100M towards the building the Fiserv Forum when their lease run out at the old place and seemed like they would move. He passed on in December 23.

Which is funny because Giannis, Thanasis and Kostas all have rings. Kostas with the Lakers and the others obviously with the Bucks. Just shows you can still achieve your goals whilst looking out for your family.

Bro he is the 15th man in the roster why would you sign anybody else ? What 15th minimum contract guy is more valuable to the bucks than Thanasis, I would rather have a great voice on my bench and locker that can pick up the pace on and off the court than some randomer so the media stop complaining.

I think you make some great points in the video. Very few of us can understand, truly feel, what this family has been through. Their bond is real. What better could the Bucks have done with the 15th spot really, than have their star player feeling cared for? Giannis feels family is the most important thing in the world for him. The Bucks actively show him they respect that. That's why he will never leave. If you want to be cynical about it, Thanasis represents the best return on investment when it comes to the 15th spot in a roster ever. Plus, most of the haters do not realize how well respected Thanasis is in Greece. Personally I am a Panathinaikos fan and I would take him back in a second. His passion when he is on the court really lifts a team. It's just that this "enforcer" style of play and over-the-top attitude on the court don't resonate well with US sports fans. But in Europe it's a big plus and much sought after. Don't get me wrong. We don't like players being goons, but defence is extremely important in Euroleague games. And willingness to defend many times improves with passion, especially in close games, which is what most Euroleague games are. These brothers have been through fire and whenever they are on the court they are hungry and try to prove themselves, every day. This is highly respected in Europe and in Greece in particular. Kostas currently plays for Panathinaikos. With the team being 3rd in the Euroleague standings, he is always a spark plug from the bench and a joy to watch, even though he is still improving. The Greek freak mentality fills the court, I'm telling you. Finally, when it comes to the Greek national team, I personally feel Thanasis is the one who keeps Giannis connected to it the most. Giannis loves the team, but he is just such a big star, he has a lot on his plate. Thanasis always answers the call, as does Kostas. I love them for that and I can't stand watching him being so disrespected overseas. I would love to see him back in a Panathinaikos jersey, but I understand why he stays there. Giannis needs him.

I beg to differ about MJ's time in baseball. Terry Francona has made it clear that MJ could have legitimately made it to MLB given a little more time. He wasn't as bad as people make him out to be as a baseball player.

This story makes me think of Malcom Gladwell's book "Outliers." Gianni's wouldn't be where he's at if it wasn't for the very fortunate series of opportunities he was provided and his ability to seize those moments. I love the book and stories like these because it just proves that there is more in "rags to riches" stories than meets the eye, so to speak.
