Let's face it, if it weren't for the Antetokounmpo surname, would Thanasis still be rocking an NBA jersey? This isn't about hate; it's about separating the hype from the hardwood reality.
Thanasis, or should I say Thanasty, a nickname that he has earned. It's fitting for a guy who spends more time warming the bench than breaking a sweat on the court. But is he more than a Giannis' hype man? Is there any substance to the notion that he's just the symbolic mascot the Bucks need to keep their All-star happy?

Born in the basketball-rich city of Athens in 1992, Thanasis Antetokounmpo is no stranger to the court. He's sandwiched between Charles and Veronica's five sons. He's the middle child, with a not-so-middle basketball journey. Now, they like to call themselves the Antetokounbros, and basketball runs in their veins.

He's there so that Giannis is there. The day he's traded, Giannis is gone too. They know that. A small price to pay for a once in a lifetime talent. Every team in the NBA would do this.

The non existing "elite mentality" of theese bb players is getting hilarious, the team pays his salary and the team should be able to tell him wtf he should do, not the other way around, this is why everything is going soft and unwatchable
honestly, i love that guy even if hes not a great player and just warms the bench. hes such a great hype guy and has his teams back whenever theres a scuffle. he brings great positive energy. every team needs a guy like him
Realistically, Thanasis would be in Greece on China without Giannis. But the guy isn't even putting in the work to improve yet he is physically blessed. He's just taking the ride

He would be having a couple or 2 euroleague titles and he would be balling by now ...he was prolly going to be better paid too as we lack local players in Greece that can perform in the euroleague level Thanasis made sure the best antetokounmpo successed and that is definitely for a praise
Even here in Europe, we consider Thanasis to be a second division player. He has some defensive skills and a lot of passion, but his offence is awful.

so the knicks drafted him because they knew the future that his brother will be giannis? thanasis is not something special but was decent role player in europe and he is always gives his 100% unlike the most of the nba players...

There are 450 NBA players. Is Thanasis the worst of them all? He's not. He has a lot of experience plus he's super athletic. He may not contribute much in games but he he's a crazy energy uplifter and a total beast in practices. STOP THE HATE!

Well, I saw him play for Greece against Team USA this past FIBA. He didn't even play much minutes. I was even expecting him to be the captain. He's just there to represent Giannis.
Thanasis is a triple double GOD! 30.6 claps per game, 12.5 high-fives per game and 11 Gatorade drinks per game. Man is a fucking MYTH!
