hey eric great videos at usual brother!! i own a tokai telecaster it came in a aqua blue, its based on a vintage modified series, new they are $599Aud, i kept the original neck pickup in it, i put a chinese hotrail single coil in the bridge position, they are a little hotter then the seymour duncan ones. i also put a 5 way strat switch in it, (im legit the first guy in australia to do this lol) so i have neck, neck & bridge out of phase, then bridge coil split, bridge in parallel single coil, and then full single humbucker.. its the craziest tele ive ever heard, if you use this mod of 5 way in tele make sure to give me props and a shoutout lol. its now called "the kado mod" for telecasters.

i have juts been using damp kitchen roll to remove the surface grime and dust, i should try polish as i have some! i also use a little candle wax on wood screws which can prevent the wood splitting

Any non-abrasive liquid like guitar cleaner is great for getting grime off of a finished surface, with a good cloth as well. Glass Gleaner and car wax on gloss finishes goes a long way too

I am surprised you can get so versatile tones out of this thing. It clearly is building for metal but at the same time beautifull clear tones to solo

EMGs sound better clean than distorted in my opinion I guess I like a little more compression on clean tones than high gain tones. EMGs are great versatile pickups but the best active pickups I’ve ever played was a set of Dave Mustaine live wires but EMGs sound great clean too.

Jesus christ! Who does that to a guitar?? I regularly clean my guitars,i use f1 guitar polish/cleaner, lasts for a long time, the leo jaymz skull graphic on mine had some stiff pots so took some deoxit and sprayed them and they are loose now and easy to turn and then took wd40 to the tuneomatic bridge screws that adjust the action and that's good now,the little things make a huge difference

I don't get why people are still calling EMG's solderless. It's clearly not, you still have to wire the PU's to the pots and jack inputs.

  • @EricMorettin

Soldering is a method of connecting a circuit to make it work. EMG uses the quick connect system on their pickups with their proprietary wiring and pots that don't require soldering.

Usually with an EMG pickup kit the only thing that'd need soldering is connections to the toggle switch if there are multiple pickups.

@@EricMorettin True. Though I haven't seen kits come with the solderless switches, possibly because not every switch shape can fit every guitar. I may be wrong though.

@@MT_800 I bet EMG would be losing too much $$ sending multiple switches with all of their pickups. It's on the owner/tech to make it work whether they buy extra parts or not!
