The Peanuts story is one of the most shocking ways i've seen a character be removed, and I wish I could know how that fan felt after getting that response from Charles. Like imagine if fans had that level of power with other IPs, like what if I just sent a letter to Sega one day asking for Sticks The Badger to come back and they just immediately obliged on the spot?

Agreed. It seems like there's an overly popular trend to call so many retro characters "frightening" or "disturbing". To me, it has always felt like these commenters are grasping at meme straws. It honestly gets tiresome to see.

Small little thing to add, McDonald’s this year actually brought back the Hamburglar, in fact they brought back all of the McDonaldland crew, Kinda. it was for a very recent promotion where you could get Grimace, Birdie, and Hamburlger as toys (along with another character that was part of the company they crossed over with to make this possible) on the box for the promotion itself it had every McDonaldland character on the box, from Mayor McCheese to the Fry guys. Keep making great videos!

The name Negatron reminds me of Megatron, which makes me think of a lost/forgotten Transformers character, who went unknown until recently: Hauler (or more recently known as Road Hauler). He made only one appearance in the pilot episodes of The Transformers (the G1 cartoon) where the character Hound falls off a cliff and Hauler comes to pick him up in his crane mode, with Ratchet even calling him by name, then he was never seen again for the entire run of the show. I don't remember why they abandoned him, but they did include a character with the same vehicle mode and colors in season two: Grapple, but Hauler never showed up in anything official for 20 years when a Grapple toy was recolored green to be Road Hauler. It was retconned that he used to be a Decepticon, and had a hand in creating Megatron, but switched sides before going to Earth, and that was only achieved because of an animation error. This year, he was given a brand new toy exclusive to Wal-Mart, still with the name "Road Hauler", and still a green recolor/slight retool of Grapple to give him a new face and hand. I think it's really interesting to see a lost character actually get some justice, which is why I kinda like this guy. Hasbro even put him on a ballot for the Transformers Hall of Fame one year because they needed more characters from the original cartoon, which is pretty neat.

there's a couple other peanuts characters who disappeared after a while, with the most famous two being Shermy and 5 although unlike Charlotte Brown they did not have gruesome fates. Shermy actually appeared in the first ever peanuts strip but then made fewer and fewer appearances likely due to the author forgetting about him the same going with the characters Patty and Violet though their disappearances were more gradual. Five on the other hand only had one major speaking role and mostly appeared as a background character in some scripts before disappearing in the 80s. (Also when are you gonna talk about BoCo, my boi deserves some more love)

here's a lost character from the Kirby series: Dizzy he appeared in the first game as a one off enemy but then was also in a manga where he was renamed to Bitty and he served as Kirby's (basically best) friend, altough he didn't appear much. weirdly enough he was also in one piece of promotional material for Kirby's Adventure despite not appearing in that game, and then he was just dropped. sure he was referenced some times but never did he have an actual appearence after that, seems like they were trying to make him a sidekick to Kirby and he was gonna stick around with him in the future but the poor guy never made it.

There are 4 other lost Kirby enemies (well one is technically a midboss, but whatever), Bounder, Rolling Turtle, Togezo, and Capsule J, they all appeared in earlier Kirby games, but replaced in their remakes, Bounder, Togezo, and Rolling Turtle all appeared in Adventure, while Bounder (again) and Capsule J appeared in Super Star, but in the remakes, Bounder was replaced with Gip (but Bounder still appears in the background of Megaton Punch), Togezo was replaced with Needleous, Rolling Turtle was replaced with Phan Phan, and Capsule J was replaced with Capsule J2, and maybe J2 was replaced with J3 in Robobot, the only real appearances since then were in Dream Collection as part of the porta.

for some reason i thought you would've covered Rachel from TAWOG by now. she's a minor character from the show that didn't make many appearances after season 1 because some of the staff said they disliked her. her page on the amazing wolrd of gumball's wiki goes way more in-depth if you want to look into it.

It is confirmed that Rachel went to college according to Darwin in that yearbook special, which it explained her absence in the later seasons.

The only problem with your Ms. Pac-Man segment is that you showed “Pac-Marie” when you mentioned Pac-Mom. Marie was used in a separate ad campaign for a pop-up store known as “Pac Store” but then again, she was just made because of the licensing fiasco.

A lost character I think of is Pip from South Park he appeared in the early seasons as the kid the main boys would always make fun of. He had his own episode but fans and even the creators agree that it’s one of the worst episodes in the series. Overtime he appeared less and was ultimately replaced by Butters who ended up becoming a fan favorite and Pip was permanently killed off. To make things worse the episode he last appeared in was later banned (for different reasons) so for many people Pips last appearance was around season 4 despite his actual last appearance being in season 14. Ironically he did have plush merch made and because he no longer appears in the show they call sell for up to $1000 on eBay because of how rare they are

Pip got written off because south park already had another super saccharine acting kid with butters. The writers couldn't really figure out what to do with him because at the time butters was practically the same character as pip except butters had a more interesting family and more potential for a darker side and as a result after butters got a bit more development pip just became redundant and was slowly phased out.

I never really cared for Pip but to me his removal was a clear transition of the earlier seasons style to the ‘modern’ South Park which I think is pretty cool

@@flowerzforsaturn Pip also couldn't really hold an episode on his own without sharing screentime with one of the other boys as he didn't really work as a solo character. The fact that his solo episode is often considered one of the worst in the shows history while butters first solo episode is viewed as a fan favorite further drills this home.

Here's a few you could do for the next one! 1) Donkey Kong Jr. and Redneck Kong Truly while appearing in games through to the Nintendo 64, ever since Mario Tennis, he has been nowhere to be found in any spinoff games or the Donkey Kong series. Diddy replacing his role was really the tipping point. In the unreleased GBA racing game Diddy Kong Pilot, a cut Kong named Redneck Kong was to appear, but he was seemingly cut, as well as the entire DK part of the roster. 2) Mouser and Wart/Mamu (and other Super Mario Bros 2 characters) It's no secret the SMB2 was NOT originally a Mario game, but the characters (excluding Wart) were used extensively in the west before Mario 3 released. Mouser himself and Triclyde made appearances as King Koopa's henchmen in the SMB Super Show. Wart is called Mamu in doki doki panic and in Links Awakening, where he appears because both SMB2 and links Awakening take place in a dream world. 3) Stanley the Bug Man He only appears in Donkey Kong 3 but his influence is mainly felt in the game & watch games (as dk3 received a release on that format) and is thus his legacy is his bug spray in the Game & Watch smash character. 4) Sonic's Freedom Fighters, Tiara boobowski, Honey the Cat, Archie Cast Because SEGA lost the rights to the Archie cast, they also chose to forgo the freedom fighters, whom they still own, when rebooting the comic with IDW. Unfortunately that also meant nixing honey the car, from sonic the fighters, based off a fighting vipers character and characterized in the Archie run as a seamstress. Also Tiara Boobowski from sonic Xtreme because you had her in the last video's intro. For a fake character, you can maybe gleam from Ashura sonic -- a sonic 2 glitch recolor that inspired Scourge from Archie and Surge from IDW -- ORRR the gaming magazine hoax, Rankles the Otter from Sonic 3. Or Omelette, the fan adopted character who is eggman's younger relative. 5) Blue/Green (3rd Rival from Pokemon Gen 1) It's clear from concept art that the original pokemon games would've had a third rival -- a girl with a tight low cut black dress and white gloves. While scrapped from the game, she was used in the pokemon adventures comic, but she was revamped as Leaf for FireRed and LeafGreen in the GBA remakes as the female counterpart of red, instead of rival. You can consider Leaf's last appearance in Smash Ultimate!

Also, I don't think characters like Honey were related to the Archie situation, it's just that Sega doesn't really like using characters from the classic era aside from the main cast (with Mighty and Ray being the only exceptions so far).

So about the peanuts! I used to work for Dorney as their snoopy costumed character. There were serious talks from higher-ups about Charlotte, however they were all shot down due to Charlotte's popularity being nonexistent, and we got Schroeder instead. (Edit: It was also due to the Schultz foundation not allowing us use of the character, given she was canonically dead :))

One lost character i'd like to see you cover is Tak from Tak and the Power of Juju. he was a video game character from a trilogy of platformers published by Nickgames and THQ from 2003 to 2005 that i fondly remember having fun as a kid, before getting his own nick show in 2007. Unfortunately that show was recieved Negatively and sales of the games werent doing so well so Tak faded from the limelight. i think his last appearance was in one of those nicktoons crossover games. However now that THQ got the rights to publish nick games again there is a chance he could make a comeback.

as a HUGEEEE animatronic fan i’m so so so happy you mentioned crusty!!! i flipped out cause normally you never hear about him outside of animatronic spaces 😄 some other lost animatronic characters include the ENTIRE rockafire explosion characters (since they were, you know, replaced by chuck e. cheese…) and as for chuck e. cheese theres: harmony howlette, madame oink, the king / king kat, foxy colleen, artie antlers / bb bubbles / dollie dimples (they all used the same mech) and a lot more, it’s quite interesting!

Alex The Kid. Before Sonic, SEGA's mascot was Alex The Kid who was supposed to go toe-to-toe with Mario. He didn't last long, especially after Sonic became a massive hit from them.

Like I said last time, the entirety of McDonaldland was erased, except for instances of nostalgic merchandising. They brought Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdy back for those dumb vinyl toys in that stupid Cactus Plant Flea Market promotion. Though there are a LOT of characters they deleted back in the 80's. Some weird professor whose name I can't remember and Captain Crook. Seems they don't even have ANY mascots now in the US. Not even those dumb Minion ripoff Happy boxes.

The Professor doesn't have a name, they call him "The Professor".

Maybe do Pappy Van Poodle, a lost Nintendo character who appeared in Rusty's Real Deal Baseball on the 3DS. He only appeared if you didn't haggle with Rusty buying the DLC minigames. He was eventually found by a KZreadr by Nick Robinson in 2019

if you make another part to this you should definitely do Homeschool Winner from Homestar Runner. He never actually appeared on anything major on the site before being scrapped, but he definitely fits the criteria of "lost character" well.

I seem to remember there being more than one Peanuts character that vanished, but Charlotte probably had the fewest appearances. Wouldn't mine more stuff about Peanuts.

There was another Chuckie Cheese character that, well, I’m not sure counts as a character. He was a test character named Dr. Dux I think??? He was a white duck with curly brown hair, a cap and headphones. I heard about him on the Chuck e Cheese iceberg.

I remember another lost Peanuts character that appeared in an episode of the animated show that my family has on DVD. He was the younger brother of Linus and Lucy and I never saw or heard of him beyond that one episode. I believe his name was Rerun or something like that?

One of my favorite lost characters is drake from the pikmin series Drake( name is not known but theorized) was supposed to be the 4th pikmin captain in pikmin there removed for an unknown reason the reason that is generally believed is that it would be hard to control 3 captains. Now to explain the name drake it is believed that’s his name because each captain follows an alphabetical scheme Alph, Brittany, Charlie so have the last captain name starting with D makes sense the name drake comes from the ship that the kopaites fly in game which is called well the S. S. Drake. but yeah hopefully you can put this in your next vid!!

at least we know what happened to crusty, my two favorite cec characters are sally and bb bubbles and they both barely have any documentation or photos :(

You know, I really don't get why the Jimmy clones were voiced by other people. Their not voiced by Jimmy Neutron's voice actor, which feels weird when Evil Jimmy created an evil dimensions where everyone but himself shared the voices as their polar opposites.

When I think about lost characters, I always think back to these 3 : Bosko: Bosko was overall the first ever Looney tunes to be made made by Disney's two pervious animators, He made his first appearance in "Bosko, the Talk-Ink kid", and then appearing in 38 more shorts before just vanishing from the spot light, for decades being over shadowed by Bugs, Daffy, Porky and etc. Julius the cat: Before their was a cult classic shorts and movies of Disney classics, their as The Alice Comedy's, a live action aminated series, that feature Julius the cat, he was the second main character, and is overall is seen as Alice's sidekick and even love interest, but he really first appeared in Disney's version of little red riding hood in 1922 where he was unnamed at the time but made a tad impact on people who saw it, but since The Alice Comedy's stopped making anything Julius seemed to just be lost into obscurity, with the only tribute to him being a shop in Disneyland being, "Julius Kats & Sons". Honey the Cat: Honey is hands down the most obscure character in the sonic franchise, she was said to have a upbeat and friendly like demeaner and a businesswoman, Honey first appeared as an unimplemented character in Sonic the Fighters, but was later made a fully incorporated character in the 2012 remake, be she would make appearance in the archie comics, since then she has never been seen in anything again, forever just being lost. That's just a handful of what I got right now, so yeah have a good day or night.

Kinda weird that happened with Ms. Pac-Man and the funny part is I got the two different Pac-Man family games on my NES Machine the one that has an hdmi cable and takes a usb cable to power on and has 16-bit outlets for the controllers

alright, here comes another lost Mario character, Tatanga. You know how Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser all the time? Remember when Daisy was once kidnapped by Tatanga in Super Mario Land? (probably not) We seen him one more time as one of the bosses in Super Mario Land 2, working for Wario and then never again. Whiling is seemingly lost, Nintendo does have a thing for bringing back lost-characters (at least the Mario ones) including Foreman Spike (being the most recent case in The Super Mario Bros. Movie), Wart, Boom Boom, The Koopalings, Pauline, hell even Daisy was once a lost-character herself back in the 90s before Mario Tennis on the N64, so never say never.

I actually had them do the chuck-e-cheese ticket giveaway in the bathroom here where I live too. Only, MY experience was that it WASN'T the restaurant doing a promotion. Apparently, some pedophile was in the bathroom doing... VEERY WRONG THINGS... to kids and then giving them free tickets. Worst part was when we were escorted out of the place and the police showed up and arrested the guy. Became this whole spectacle that was lost to time. We all were asked if we were okay and my parents talked to me after about what happened and if I went to the bathroom, I was one of the only ones that did not (cause I was not a dumbass and knew stranger danger and had common sense). I had completely forgotten about that.

The general idea of "bathroom giveaways" has a creepy connotation, no matter how innocent the intention. Perhaps if they had made a direct association with keeping yourself clean (and the restaurant by proxy) the idea would work better. Something like "clean rewards" (for hygienic kids).

Haven’t finished watching this series yet but I wanna throw one out there, since it’s one I don’t hear any talk about really. Invader Zim: it’s pretty well known that there were some cut scenes from the episode “bad, bad, rubber piggy”, cut because of the nick censors. The series has a bunch of scenes like that, where they want to kill off characters for jokes or whatnot, and nick won’t allow it. What makes bad rubber piggy special is the nature of the cut scenes, famously showing for covered in either blood or ketchup, which nick asked the team to cut prompting them instead to hide frames of a png of the scene in future episodes out of spite. Bloody Gir is a fun Easter egg that totally sounds like a creepy pasta, but is absolutely real and you can look it up and watch episodes for yourself to confirm. That’s not the cut character I wanted to bring up, though. In the dvd commentary of the very same episode, Johnson Vasquez mentions an alternate ending where the major character Dib was to be straight up killed and leave the series, to then be replaced by a character named Louie, who would take over Dib’s role as Zim’s foil, and was to be voiced by Shaun Cassidy. Cassidy reportedly had too high an asking price and that combined with nick obviously not wanting to kill Dib (they wouldn’t let anyone die, not even Iggins, also originally planned to die on screen), Louie never made it. Apparently some showrunners have since said that this was just a joke for the dvd commentary, but the fairly detailed specifics of it cast doubt on that statement. Invader zim was fine with changing the status quo, with a planned season three to be one season long interplanetary road trip/chase as opposed to being stuck on earth, so I can believe the idea to kill major characters being genuinely considered.

Stanley the Bugman (Mario's younger cousin), he was an early-80s bug exterminator who exterminates hungry pests and then later battled Donkey Kong...................in the Game & Watch game "Green House". We would probably never see him again, but then we said the same with Foreman Spike (from Wrecking Crew)................and to an lesser extent Pauline and yet here we are. Hell of all the Mario Movie cast we actually heard of Foreman Spike's VA in The Super Mario Bros. Movie (his first new appearance since Wrecking Crew btw) first before we heard of Mario's, Luigi's, Bowser's, DK's, Toad's, etc. a couple months later after that, so "Never say never".

On the topic of comic strips, The Phantom is one of the most successful superheroes that very little have heard of. Despite being read by 100 MILLION people _daily_ at its peak and having films, TV shows and other adaptations, it's pretty obscure in America. Anyway, the strip was pretty infamous for introducing characters only to never do anything with them later, even if they seem like prime recurring character potential. Jimmy Wells is an especially weird one because he was set up as a competing love interest for Diane (the female lead of the strip) but never appeared after the first storyline aside from a single appearance in a Brazilian magazine story 30 years later. Peanuts also has a handful of lost characters, though they started reappearing in recent media. Violet, Patty (the OG one) and Shermy were all core characters of the strip before they just kinda vanished.

theres a lost character from kickin it. at the end of season 2 the character eddie left the actor alex jones announced he was leaving to further his education. kim had also left for most of season 2,3 since the character moved to china but they still mentioned her from time to time but eddie just disappeared and none of the characters spoke about him again. kyd wykd was another character who was in the original teen titans show as the 6th member from the hive, after the show ended he along with private hive disappeared and not appearing in the sequel. a majority of the tennyson family from the original ben 10 had also disappeared and have not been mentioned in the sequel. red neck kong was a character who was going to be a playable character in the sequel to dd kong racing which was dd kong pilot. after the game was cancelled he was supposed to be in another game but was replaced by candy kong and has not been heard from since.

I can never forgot Jimmy Negatron. I had the pc game that I played over and over.

After watching this again, it only just now hit me that the Krusty Cat intro was “Survive the Night”, ooof it’s been so long lol
