This is the story of the Numbers gang, the most dangerous prison gang in Africa that runs South African prison services to the extent where even the government has no true control of them, it has existed for over 200 years, and every new inmate in a South African prison is subjected to the ways of the numbers.
Our short documentary mainly focuses on the effects of the gang in Pollsmor prison which is the most crowded prison in south Africa and also one of the most dangerous prisons in Africa. Its said that half the inmates are members of the gang who most of the time don't have a choice but to be part of the gang

I seen a podcast interviewing some guys from the numbers gang, and one of them was the man you kept showing, I think they call him the "book" but these guys are no joke. Very dangerous

I used to date a numbers gang member he was 26 I uses to ask him why choose this life,coz he used to say I am either gonna die or go to prison forever.
