Moomoo man is the best main character ever, I'm waiting for the hd remake now. I love watching people these type of projects! Sometimes I look at mine and recently I found an old prototype for a rhythm game where you play as a hat that has legs (?) lol This really cheered me up! Would love to see more games!

The untitled turkey hunting game has so many possibilities, like, what if the family came back for revenge? or after sunset they become evil creatures trying to kill you, so you have to hunt them during daytime, that's a hunting and a horror game combined! Love this videos btw.

Yoyogames sandbox... that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Man, though, that brought me back to when I stumbled across Gamemaker 7 in middle school and it was the best thing since sliced bread. Making crappy games and uploading them to the sandbox was my life back then. Thank you for sharing these! It's so fun to see the more wacky things you made and to see how far you've come!

Good video, we all have our first weird games when we are just starting to use the program 😅. Regarding that yoyogames page🧐, I remember that there was a special platform game that was never heard from again, I think it was called: "Purple " 🤔.

@@Goodgis yes, it was a very colorful platform game like super mario and kirby, but it was kind of an exorcist. The character was a purple ball that used a yoyo as a weapon, I think...

What's neat is that a lot of the YoYo Games Sandbox has been preserved in the Wayback Machine, so you can go and find some of the old games on there! It's how I was able to find some of my first games.

I wish I still had my old games, they were lost when my old USB was wiped accidentally(younger me didn't pay attention to the warning that setting up a recovery drive states before proceeding) but hey, glad younger you didn't lose your older games so you could share them! I certainly miss the feel of having no inhibitions only aspirations :v

There's something about the way that you described the turkey hunter game. Seems oddly cozy.

Now I'm thinking of the old games I made. Just a lot of endless runners where you bounce off walls because I didn't know how to use variables for 3 years, so I relied exclusively on drag&drop. I never even completed a game, I just kept adding to a terrible 2d game until it had approx. 30 levels. My other works include a platformer that only has a couple of test levels and the beginnings of a Pokemon-like game and an abandoned game that uses a 1-bit colour scheme and a gameboy resolution where you walk through a couple dozen empty rooms. I've now learned the importance of design documents, planning and actually knowing how to draw.

You had me at snow people eating popsicles.

My first adventures in gamedev were in a program called Klik N Play, back in like 1995. I made this really weird little thing where every level was another random scenario, but the only copy of the game is on a floppy disc that was lost a decade ago. I'd happily trade one of my toes for a copy of that game...

IDK WHY but i liked bomb bash and i am gonna remake it with better mechanics where diffrent key do different rotation ans player movement is screen aligned and we rotate the world but player goes straight that means circular motion xd and = motion sickens
