    Halfway through the ballistic gel dummy tests, I was like, "Dude, he's had enough. I think he yields." You know a weapon is brutal when you begin to feel bad for an inanimate dummy.. • @theacegamingdemon6983

    @theacegamingdemon6983

    3 жыл бұрын

    Lets see, in terms of damage, in just the first three hits the dummy takes, the first would have had the opponents guts slashed and gouged open, leading to massive blood loss, infection, and y'know, having a big fucking hole where your guts are spilling out on the floor. The second would have broken ribs, nearly eviscerated one lung, and likely leaving the opponent drowning in their own blood. The third, immediately breaks the clavicle and probably the two ribs below it, probably shatters the shoulder blade and again pierces and/or eviscerates part of the lung, except this time the opponent DEFINITELY drowns in their own blood. Yea, whoever gets hit with this might get a few death throes, maybe a last defiant hit, hell maybe even just a slow bleeding out in massive agony, but with how this thing causes massive gouged/slashing wounds exacerbated by the piercing point, I'm not entirely anyone would survive that shit unless you were immediately taken to a hospital. And even then. Damn this thing is brutal.

    So funny how strict youtube is on sword and firearm channels, because they are not advertiser friendly or whatever. Yet History Channel's Forged in Fire has no problems getting advertisers. It's because TV shows like that usually go through a third party advertising company instead of KZread. It's the same reason why all the late night shows that have clips on KZread(Jimmy Fallon, James Corden, etc.) still get ads event though they will talk about things that get other channel's videos demonetized.

The Philippines is a tropical country, hence full plate and lamelar armour did not develop as it would be too hot and neither did wearing metal as an armour, exlcuding the Moros who use chainmail obtained from other Muslims in South East Asia. I mean, natives had to leave their doors open at noon so that they wouldn't feel hot during the after noon.

    imagine this thing in D&D 5E: Igorot Axe Type: Martial Melee Weapon Reach:5 ft. Damage: 2d4 piercing damage Weight: 4-7 lb. Cost: 20 GP Properties: Versatile (2d6), Special. Proficiency with an Igorot axe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. Versatile: this weapon does 2d4 piercing damage when held with one hand, but does 2d6 piercing damage when held with two hands. Special: as a bonus action, you can attack a different creature dealing 1d4 piercing damage if held with one hand, or 1d6 piercing damage if held with two hands. if a class feature or feat feature allows you to attack as a bonus action against the same or different creature, use 2d4/6. 2022 edit: in hindsight, this thing is kinda overpowered. Also, I think this is my most liked comment on the site. Thanks

Reason being in, what seems another lifetime ago, I did two years of Anatomy and Physiology, at degree level ... just thinking about how much trauma caused by that single blow alone boggled the mind ... If, and that's a massive if, the casualty was gotten to a major trauma centre in record speed, the sheer volume of blood loss would be such they would be in serious danger of hypovolemic shock, if and yet another big if, they could even control the bleeding, whilst hanging as many units O neg, then typed and cross matched, plus FFP. And even if they were sent direct to the OT/OR for immediate emergency surgery, no guarantees they would even make it off of the table ...

    I don’t think pain would be a factor. It’s so fast and deep it would just kill any area you hit. Cause massive nerve damage to other body parts and essentially disable you instantly. Then either your guts would fall out/lungs collapse/you die instantly depending on what organ it hit. Even a limb shot would have you bleed out in minutes.

    Interesting fact about the back blade: whereas the front blade was ultimately used for cutting an opponent's head, the back blade was used to pick up the head and put it in a backpack. Also, Igorots were one of the indigenous peoples using that weapon. It was fairly common in the northern mountain regions of the Philippines where they believed it was important to keep your opponent's head in order for them to not find their way in the afterlife. The fear was that if your opponent's spirit finds you, then they can take their revenge. Also, if one really hated their enemy, they would have also taken the guy's kidneys, so they wouldn't feel comfort in the afterlife. They believed that the kidneys provided relief and comfort (like how you feel after peeing). Also, to put it in context, they believed that the living and the dead coexist and that you just don't see the dead.

    Roberto Brillante igorots are like those Nepalese warriors that used the kukri, Gurkhas I do believe, there was one story of a Gurkha who was trapped behind lines in ww2, he came across three sleeping Nazi soldiers so as a sick joke he silently killed the two on the ends and decapitated them to switch their heads, so that in the morning the one in the middle would wake to see the result, did it as a demoralizing tactic, pretty sure it worked lol

    nice to know even here in Pinas, a lot of cultures have a somewhat similar belief on decapitation and how it affects one's afterlife. Like medieval christians used to cut off heads of suicides so that they cant enter heaven (even purgatory) and go straight to hell. cool.

    When I first saw one of these my thought was "why didn't other axes evolve to be more like this one?" It seems like it's designed for armor penetration, combining the best parts of pickaxe and battle axe. Force concentration building into a longer, deep penetrating cut. But it was made by people that didn't really use armor. It's super mean looking and has incredible damage potential, and I just fell in love with the design. There are some really cool looking ones.

    That really depends because of how many tribal lineages exist among Filipino natives. And each tribe has cultural distinctions, from clothing to weapons. In this age, use of firearms is not shunned due to practicality reasons when what matters is knowing the opponent. There is a time and place for everything; when to use a blade, when to use a bullet.

    Loved the graphic demonstration; informative, entertaining, and impressive. You go to a lot of trouble for accuracy so as a former morgue attendant/current nursing student and HEMA enthusiast I would like to offer a few helpful tips for realistic torso impact simulation. First, living bone is not as durable as everyone thinks it is. The many porosities in living bone that are filled with liquid gel up and then harden during the cooking process (why B-B-Q ribs have to be cooked so damn slowly if you want the collagen to flow out of the pores and into the meat). Living ribs have more flex and less durability than would seem intuitive. The main thing most people miss though, is the mediastinum, the large core of dense fibrous connective tissue between and partially anchoring and around the lungs in which the heart, esophagus, trachea, and major blood vessels are firmly embedded. Anatomical charts can give an impression that the central thoracic vitals sort of float between the lungs but the tissue around them is quite dense and protective. A rolled tatami mat can be a reasonable and effective simulation of the mediastinum for weapon evaluation. The heart is partially embedded but is up front just behind the sternum which is why it was a target long before its vital role in circulation was remotely understood; it is vulnerable and accessible and a living sternum just isn't that protective. Unroll and rebind the Tatami with one layer over your simulated heart and have that resting against the inside of your rib simulation and you will be very close to how a living torso would respond to piercing, slicing, and blunt force trauma. Looking forward to what obscure weapons you might next stumble across, hope any of this was helpful, thoroughly enjoy your channel.

    There is one significant drawback of it though... and you can see it very clearly in this video. It gets stuck... it gets stuck HARD. In a real battle situation, this is highly dangerous... sure, you might kill that one guy good... and maybe a second one... but you will probably get stabbed or hit by the third guy. Speers, Axes and swords have this issue to a smaller degree too. Maces and hammers have this issue the least of all battlefield weapons, which is one of the reasons, they were popular.

    Another thing people don't understand, is that ballistic gel is actually MUCH more resistant than human flesh. Ballistic gel has a MUCH higher kinetic friction coefficient than human flesh, therefore, the larger the blade that pierces the skin is, the more it struggles to penetrate. Where with a human, you have fluids etc that lubricates. That weapon would legit do probably like 20-30% more damage against a human.

    no, dude, this is not the right way to do it. making people just visit the sites for the sake of visiting them generates fake traffic, and they can see it in stats, in the duration of the visit. generating this kind of traffic is even worse than generating none, because it makes the content creator seem disingenuous/less trustworthy, so content creators generating this kind of fake traffic are LESS likely to get advertisers in future. it's better to generate less, but *truer* traffic, meaning people who actually will browse through the page and possibly buy something, meaning: * "guys, please visit their site if you are interested in their stuff" * which is a thing you usually don't need to ask people to do, if you've already informed them.
