The Moors are Berbers, also known as Amazigh (Free people), they have their historical origins in Morocco and still live there today, the term “Moor” is derived from the Phoenician term “Mahurin”, which means "Westerners", they were named as Moorish kingdom 300 before JC. The Moors have white skin, while further south like in Mauritania they have a tanned complexion. However, they do not belong to the balck African ethnicity, typically associated with broad and flat noses. Can you see the difference? Do you understand the distinction between skin color and ethnicity? There are also dark-skinned individuals in India. Are they African? No! What they refer to as “black Moors” are not ethnically Moors; they are the "Black Gards" or "Abid al-Bukhari", African soldiers hired to fight for the Moors. Europeans who saw them on the battlefield with the real Moors called them “Black Moors”. The Moorish movement in America originated from these African soldiers who went to america in slavery trades.. Images alone cannot provide a comprehensive understanding. It’s noteworthy that the Moroccan Sultans employed African soldiers in their armies. Some of these soldiers’ leaders were handsomely compensated by the Sultan, enjoying luxuries such as opulent houses, fine clothing, and companionship. However, their roles were confined to their military duties and they were not involved in the dynastic rule, the Moorish people in general, or the intellectual advancements of the time. These African individuals were hired warriors, their contributions primarily limited to their skills in warfare. Their lifestyle and compensation should not be misconstrued as having a broader influence on the achievements of the dynasties they served.

@@sid-alitelab8958 It appears you’ve conducted a search on Wikipedia. Your name is Sid Ali Taleb from Algeria, and you seem to maintain a neutral perspective hhh Now, let’s proceed with the information you’re interested in: Tariq, a mawla from the Umayyad era, is of Berber origin from the “Nafza” tribe. The Nafza tribe resides in the city of Nador, located in the far north of Morocco. Ibn Adhari Al-Marrakushi, in his book, refers to Tariq as Nafzi, indicating his connection to the Moroccan Nafza tribe in the Rif. Universities and schools worldwide acknowledge his Moroccan Berber origins. It’s important to note that the Umayyad dynasty often selected mawlas (commandants) from local populations to ensure a smooth relationship with the people. This is why a local mawla, fluent in the local Berber language from Rif, was chosen to govern the north of Morocco. Algeria: In the early period of the Umayyad rule, Algeria was not a unified political entity and control of the region was divided among various Berber tribes and Arab governors. One of the notable figures was Okba ibn Nafi, an Arab general who led the Umayyad conquest of the Maghreb, including what is now Algeria. Tunisia: During the Umayyad period, Tunisia was under the rule of the Umayyad Caliphate. The region was governed by a series of governors appointed by the Umayyad Caliphate. The first local Islamic ruling house, the Aghlabids, consisted primarily of rule by leading members of this Arab tribe.

At the time of the umayyad conquest of iberia society was not divided on the basis of skin colour like in America it was more based on religion, before the conquest the iberian peneinsula was mostly Christian with a pretty significant jewish minority which was heavily suppressed and forcebly converted to christianity by the wisigothic kingdom a member of the wisigothic nobility got mad bout something (don’t remember) and invited tariq and his army to take iberia which he did, under islamic sharia christians and jews were allowed to be protected from religious persecution in exchange of them paying a little extra tax this didn’t much please christians but this was a blessing for jews as they were not being exterminated anymore, the jewish community in iberia saw during the Muslim rule a golden age of innovation and culture. But they were not the only ones to live here anymore, to consolidate power in the region the umayyads moved a lot of syrians to it, syrians were specifically chosen as they were the most loyal to the government back in Damascus, not only them but many berbers (the people who had actually conquered Iberia for them) also settled in the area. By the prime of al andalus there were 4 important people groups, the Syrians, the berbers, the siqilliba (muslim spaniards or pepole of mixed muslim and spanish ancestry) and the mozarabs (slightly arabized Spanish christians) they all pretty much say themselves as equal and just andalusians. Also note on the signification of the term “moor” so moor is a term that europeans from the middle ages used to describe any muslim it is not a ethnic or cultural group, they were of all different backgrounds with the only thing in common they had is being muslim, some were berbers some were black some were arabs others spanish, hell some even were italians, even Muslims sri lankan were and are still called moors. This history is just too rich to explain you in youtube comments so i recommend you the channel of Al muqadimma who did a whole serie of videos of great quality on the whole history of muslim spain from the beginning to the end. Also sorry for the 30 lines paragraph😅 Here is the link kzread.info/head/PLwy0OsD76k1M38MiF-tEVU8HSJefzUQcA Have a good time watching.
