On the Shoulders of Giants

On the Shoulders of Giants

On the Shoulders of Giants uploads videos teaching you about the lives of sung and unsung heroes of the African diaspora, heroes we normally wouldn’t learn about. We read books weekly, by African scholars who have provided us with valuable information we can use to improve our communities. We also break down clips of lectures, interviews, and conversations of black scholars, leaders, historians, etc. On the Shoulders of Giants understands that it is important to recognize and be aware of the contributions of those before us, especially those of African or Indigenous descent. We not only provide you with information about our heroes and the philosophies of our heroes, but we also break the information down in an entertaining fashion, so we can understand and use the information to better our lives.

Check out our channel, subscribe, and become a part of a growing family!!!

    What are you doing to create an HBCU that demonstrates what you think it should be doing? 🤷🏿 Be the change that you want to see. That history on HBCUs is waay off and entirely inaccurate! 😏

    9:58 If HBCU students are cultivated to be employees of whites, they'll never network enough wealth to give back to the HBCU. HBCU alumnus Dr. Jahi Issa says the federal plan is for HBCUs to be Black in name only. Reparations as envisioned by MLK is the answer: "...when we come to Washington in this campaign, we're coming to get our check."

    I have heard Black women refer to the black man as a N ger....not 🚫 to be applied to them. Black women realized earlier by permission that their sex can grant them. More material wealth. She is not on the slave block today but she can get material wealth if she submits to the sexual advanceds of white men.

    Why focus on the "ratchet" when you can focus on the " righteous." The ones who need to heed common sense will never hear the podcast and will never read the comments. Too many content creators focused on negativity trying to get likes and sponsors. There have always been dysfunctional folks in the black community, but it ain't the whole community.

    This dude hasn't had one plan that's worked. He hasn't even revised his book that he wrote 30 years ago. The information in that book of his, it's outdated. It's a whole new world. We're dealing with a whole new way of engaging in business. That book doesn't address 21st century concerns at all. I've been over this dinosaur.

    It's not even subtle or subconscious that white peoples are afraid of white skin being extinct over time. You hear it with "great replacement theory" and "white genocide." The "white genocide" argument isn't arguing there's a literal genocide like the Holocaust towards white people. It's just that over time white skin gets diluted genetically. People get really freaked out about it. I have difficulty relating to that fear. Evolution happens and humanity in several generations will be different in all kinds of ways. I don't get the big deal

    First, I am a disgusted baby boomer that knows from that HBCU only purpose today is to brainwash Black elites to capitulate to WS and stonewall real Black Empowerment. They are not the same institutions of the 19th and 20th centuries which were not perfect then, but are definitely much worst today. There are far too many self-loathing Knee-Grows being produced by these institutions who hate and despise the Black masses even more than WS. REPARATIONS, SEPARATION AND ISOLATION. The only solution to the RACE PROBLEM IN AMERICA. Much Love young warriors stay strong and kudos to Dr. Claude Anderson the Godfather of Black Empowerment.

Immigrants are willing to do most anything to be here in damerikkka, while we the so called conscious are willing to do anything to get out. And those who fight 2b on stay on the plantation we call slaves and sell outs. That applies to immigrants as well. around the @58:00:00

    Just looked her up after reading your post!! Sounds like she was a firebrand like so many other black American women in history. After reading about Charlene it is not surprising that her history has not been celebrated or publicised. Learning about Real History is often like archeology in that it requires a lot of "digging". However when it comes to Black American history it is more like digging for survivors in the rubble after a bomb attack.

    I want to attend an HBCU law school, and there are only 6 of them. What I have found disturbing is the amount of staff, professors that are not like us. One of the schools has so many latinos, one is even the editor of the law school newspaper! This will not deter me from attending and giving back, and hopefully, make a change....

    At the end of the day, we talk a lot and work too little to solve our own problems. If we want good HBCUs, we need to fund them. Money comes from action and not hope or whining. We do not. And then talk about how irrelevant HBCUs are to us.

  • @b1crusade384

    @@dredey1971 you first question makes sense. The second does not. People need to donate to causes they support. If we want tangibles, we need to make political donations. If we want HBCUs, we need to donate. We will not get anything by just complaining. You also do not need for a people to have many billionaires. And being a billionaire is also very rare.

  • @b1crusade384
    @b1crusade38416 сағат бұрын

    Only if it’s the last option. The first option are elite schools like Stanford and Harvard. Next great schools. After that are other schools. HBCUs are others. If you and another job candidate are equal but you went to an HBCU and he went to MIT, the MIT person will win. The only people who glamorize HBCUs are naive people and people trying to exploit naive people for benefits.
