Here, from Brazil, since the '80 untill today, 2024 loving them!!!
The Hummingbird Birmingham England 1987. Awesome night.........
F..... I know what happened to the time. I wasted my 80s on being a teen. If only i had it over. I would hold on to every moment like it was beyond gold.

My band is lucky enough to have the opportunity to open for them tonight! They've been very influential on me for a long time. So excited!
After years of pursuing a career in alternative rock, Grunge and Gothic, I found myself at home with this performance. Love from Iran.

@@krasteff it depends. I think Electric is the less good from the first 4 albums. But, even if Sonic Temple is a different sound album, it is highly acclaimed by Cult fans. As usual in these discussions I think all are right
@bloodnchocolate

@@krasteff Matter of opinion, but they rocked, and still do. Love was an epoch-defining Goth album, Electric was a face-melter of a rawk album, and Sonic Temple managed to create an enormously powerful synthesis. While I think their latter discography is hit-or-miss (the last album has quite a few bangers, though!), they'll always be one of my favorite bands. And, if you haven't checked them out live in '22, they've down-tuned a few of the songs, but Ian is sounding very good!

It was 87. I followed most of that Tour round Europe. For some reason I think this was Germany somewhere. I don't think it is in US as I'm sure I recognise loads of Eskimos in the audience and I'm pretty sure I was at the recording of this (I remember us being told it would be filmed). I'm probably on someone's shoulders in there. None of us could afford to go to the US!
One adorable memory, my mother would wait outside Rock City Nottingham and wonder wtf! We all filed out from one these gigs in 87', she would throw us all around in the back driving a van, it was hallarious.

I saw them live in Porto, Portugal, back in 1988 I think...! one of the best gig's that I saw... other fantastic gig was Radio Head in Porto, with Pablo Honey, first part of James concert... James was great but the boys before had it all and completelly won the audience
I've got this concert on VHS from back in the day. From a time when Glastonbury was very much obscure.
So happy to have been able to watch this lineup in concert... Mission shows always ended up being the craziest of nights!
What a fantastic throwback to better days. We may have not had the technology, but boy, we had the music. I was on their first tour, and saw them in a dingy little place called St. Georges Hall in Exeter, in November, '86. (saw All About Eve there too). I drove there in my battered Mach II Cortina! Some time later, I managed to buy the bootleg tape of the gig at a record fair. Boy, I must have played that to death. Glad I made backups of it. Their set list included quite a few cover versions just to make up the numbers. Saw them again on the following tour at Exeter University, where me and my mate met them backstage, autographed our programmes. They were totally bombed out, but what a show. Lost count how many times I saw The Mission in the 80s and early 90s. Each show was better and better. Haven't seen them for years now, but great to see they're still putting on the shows. Thank you for uploading this and let's all reminisce about the good ol' days, turning off your minds, relaxing and floating down streams!
Best band in the world ever bar none. Have tickets to see them for umpteenth time in April at Glasgow, but think it's been postponed again due to covid 😔 living in hope will be rescheduled soon. Was in Glasgow the first time I saw them way back when. Mission concerts always feel like a family reunion, they've given so many happy memories

@@douglasbatley1907 Do you have a link to the Probe Records material? All of the early Dead or Alive stuff that I know before the "disco" period was as described above. I'm going by Wayne's account of what happened - that he left. That's clearly not objective, but I had no reason to doubt his claim. Incidentally, I don't think that The Mission are particularly original. However, I do think that they've always been a better live act than the Sisters and that Eldritch is overrated - although "Floodland" is a true masterpiece (of any genre). Also, you could try spelling my name correctly when responding, at least. Edit: In addition to all of that, if Wayne was indeed "kicked out" than he wouldn't have "still" been playing "gay disco" with Dead or Alive anyway, would he?
