The fact that he got emotional when talking about the mentality he had towards the game of basketball that is an obvious indicator of someone that truly is in love with what they do. Like getting emotional with someone we love, it really is a powerful thing, I salute MJ for that.

He didn’t cry because he loved the game. He cried because he reflected on how much of a toll he took to get where he was. He’s crying tears of happiness, he’s genuinely proud of how he ended up, and it looks like he’s even more proud of the way he did things. It’s total satisfaction.

Kobe openly said he wanted to be like Mike. Mike was the one he looked up too. Ppl think they didn't get along but they were friends and Kobe said Mike really helped him with the game. Mike said Kobe was like his little brother. There's a clip when they were guarding each other, Kobe asked Mike how to do something and Mike told him and walked away. It became a poster I believe. There was brotherly love between them.

Psychologically speaking, Michael Jordan is one of the greatest phenomenon known till this day. The subjective self that has been studied throughout time has been represented through large figures(patterns) also known as symbols. Many of these symbols have possessed the conscious stability to face the unknown voluntarily and by that tribulation, the mind now possesses the heroic archetype that is Michael Jordan in his finest.Micheal Jordan walked the line that is in the middle of the yin-yang/order-chaos.The highest good you can conceive of is the orientation of the "self" which at the end of the day, was his goal and probably unconsciously are's as well . Great video all around.

@@brandonwhite652 Hello Brandon Im glad your interested in the psychology of greatness. for a more simplified version of what i said-Michael Jordan is a very strange thing to watch. Mainly it's strange because for the part of the mind that we can't connect with(unconscious) , we observe him as a symbol that reaches into a Reality of life that can be known as the unknown. The unknown is a very scary and anxiety provoking thing. The people that reach into the unknown are usually called heros and they have a attraction to the human race that carry's in time. Thats essentially what I meant by MJ being a symbol and trying to achieve a very hard thing in life which is called the self(The self is the uniting sphere of conscious-uncounsious/known-unkown/bravery-fear). Hopefully this helps with the confusion.

Success can often breed complacency, and that's why I love Jordan. He wouldn't let the fact that he experienced tremendous success induce him into failure. It's amazing to see an athlete of the stature of Jordan not just "be done" and let his creative drive diminish into ennui. You can see that in the evolution of his game through the years- maximum speed and explosiveness in the early years evolving into great technical refinement and durability during the early title runs, and later just being smarter and craftier than everyone else when his physical skills started to decline. He adapted in very intelligent ways to stay on top. Great stuff.

God I miss watching this guy play. I loved watching a player w so much confidence and the skill to back it up. He was David Thompson vertically....but with so much more power and control in mid air. He could finish at the rim leaving the blood and egos of defenders scattered all over the paint. He was merciless. By being able to easily palm the ball he could fake from the perimeter and put opponents on their heels at will. He became a great shooter which made his fakes more effective. He was a quicker Tim Duncan with his back to the basket. If you tried to stop him one on one you were dead man walking and you hadn’t yet assumed room temperature. Oh...and if that wasn’t enough he was one of the greatest defenders the game ever saw.

For those who keep saying MJ has a gambling problem and not a competitiveness problem, look at the scene from the last dance where he goes to the back of the plane to play cards with the bench players at 5-10 bucks a hand. One of the guys asks Jordan why would he want to play with them for such a meager amount, Jordan says - "So I can say I have your money in my pocket". Look at the scene with the security guards and the quarter tossing game, look at how uncomfortable MJ got over losing some silly game, the man just wanted to win.
