The Migration Dilemma: Facing deportation | DW News

Gambians in Germany are following events in their homeland closely: After 22 years in power, President Jammeh first accepted his election defeat, but then changed his mind. While many hope for a democratic solution, they also fear they could be deported.

He seems to be a peaceful person. Maybe Germany should deport those who create ruckus in their country

If it's someone like that, hey should stamp his visa. Honestly the best thing is to give people like him assistance and they are the best hope for reforming their own country and often go back if they are successful, but he deserves a shot, regardless.

No one wants to leave his/her country. Sometimes, it just cannot be helped. We should try to look at life from a child’s perspective more often. Maybe there will be less judgement.

Even if that's true, they don't need to move to Germany.

my prayers are with him and all innocent and oppressed refugees fleeing for their lives. that gentleman (and so many refugees) would be such a huge asset to welcoming nations. that gentleman speaks nearly 3 languages (Gambian, English and learning German). Plus he has teaching experience. I so hope countries shake of this fear of the other (I understand fear of terrorism) and work harder to help those in need, not just refugees but their own nationals

Any assistance should be in their own countries. And it should be in the form of education and contraceptive services for the women. One of the really nasty ways in which rich countries sponge off poor countries is by enticing away their best and brightest people. How can countries develop well if their young people are moved to richer countries? Few return.

The earth belongs to God almighty. Anyone should be allowed to live in any country of his choice provided he integrate and obey the laws of the Land. sending people a way is never the best option because we shall all die and leave this earth.

You can speak easily but who has to pay for these people? Not our political leaders but the people of our country. They are just with to many.

T-Rex T-Rex Lets apply your statement to your own house. Should everyone who feels like it live in your own house because it is not yours, it belongs to God. Therefore everyone who feels like it can enter against your will, refuse to leave and expect you to pay for their food and rent as long as they want to be there. Afterall it is not your house or your money but everything belongs to God so everyone who feels like it can move in and expect you to feed them. How much fun is that for you if only 100 or 200 people follow through with that idea?
