I was lucky enough to live through the 80's as a teen. We explored, we ventured, and we lived!! Not hiding behind a phone 24/7. No mobile phone, meant social interaction was a necessity rather than an option. People forget how to "talk" to someone bcuz they rely on their fingers. The more we distance ourselves from each other, we make it that much easier for A.I. to dominate us.

I remember new year's eve in NYC, it was 1988. There was a pub right across the times square ball, to the south of it. No barriers, no 8 hour waits, no searches. We sat in the bar keeping warm, by the window, it was about 25 degrees outside. The staff was a bit picky but not so much, they let us order drinks every hour. About 15 minutes before the ball dropped we walked out, saw it drop, cheered and went home. I was the designated driver before it was a thing. Got everyone home safely by 1am. Was the best time of our lives. Last time I watched the ball drop was in 2019, it was so different then, I'm sure it is very different now.

Dear Kids... I was born in 1950. I am just as young as I have always been, why? When I was young I loved old people and their stories that were never-ending.. I talked to folks who lived through the civil war, the depression, founded the wild west or knew the mean streets of old Chicago. Sadly it was my hippie generation who screwed things up. If you don't listen to the past you kill the future.

I was a kid in the 80s... for some reason or another, it felt so right. Like the world was unknown to anyone and it felt awesome to go on an adventure. Whether it was from your soul or from the heart, finding that one person to hang out with or find that crush. It was there... you had to be there to feel it and see it all in the moment. Pretty cool I say, stay strong everyone. Later later.. ✌

by the time we were more aware of our surroundings, it was already the second half and tail end of the 80s. would've been great to have gotten the full experience. Sometimes I relive the 80s by watching shows like Stranger Things (which tonally fits the 80s to a T), Freaks and Geeks, and actual music and tv shows from the 80s like cartoons (Transformers, Mask, Count Duckula, Gummi Bears, TMNT... lol).

What is it about this song? It has affected me the same way since i first listened to it. It is the only song I listen to over and over again and never get sick of hearing it. It is infectious in a very positive way. It reaches something inside and brings forth emotions and feelings that go way back and are still present today. This song make me feel........happy and young. It makes me feel sad in a nostalgic kind of way. It makes me want to go back and do it all over again. It makes me want to go back and sit in the same movie theater I watched Breakfast Club in for the first time in 1985. I think this song touches the 19 year old that still lives inside of me, almost 40 years later. It was a great time to be out on your own and experiencing the world. I wouldn't trade those years of my life for anything. I wish we could bring them back for everyone to enjoy. I feel really lucky to have been born when I was. I feel equally sorry for those being born in the world today. They have no idea what they are missing out on. They are missing out on Freedom.

So what happened was, i fell asleep headphones in and leaving my spotify on. I dont know how long i was asleep for 3 maybe 4 hours but i could hear this song being played in the background as i was waking up, the tears just came running down my face it was beautiful, like i needed it, it felt like a realease. Maybe im missin my old pops and this song brought it out of me. RIP Papa Ike love ya ❤
