You know, there's something about the idea of stepping back into the '80s and '90s that really speaks to me. Born in June of '86, I feel like I missed out on experiencing the simplicity and authenticity of that era firsthand. Life just seemed... easier back then, you know? One thing that really stands out to me is how people were more connected to each other and their surroundings. Without smartphones and the internet constantly vying for our attention, you had to be present in the moment to truly experience life. There was a rawness to relationships, a genuine connection formed through face-to-face interactions rather than through screens. And dating? It seemed so much simpler. All you needed was the courage to approach someone and maybe a cool car to impress them. None of this swiping left or right nonsense. Just good old-fashioned conversation and chemistry. But it wasn't just about romance; it was about the freedom of youth. We were more carefree back then, more willing to take risks and try new things. There was a sense of adventure in the air that's hard to find in today's world of political correctness and constant connectivity.

Don't forget the 80's were also the decade of Ronald Reagan, and Maggie Thatcher. AIDS and Apartheid. SDI and "The Day After". The decade started with John Lennon being shot, and then Ronald Reagan (but he didn't die) and the Pope too. The Challenger disaster. The 80's were my college years, I suppose If I were a little younger, AIDS and nuclear war would not have been a source of anxiety. But the music and the movies were great. And the internet was only a thing for computer geeks.

As everyday day passes we get further away from a time when it was so much better. The 80's was no doubt the best decade ( maybe to the early 90's). It almost feels like it takes your breath away when watching these clips of the best movies ever made!

"Everything is clear in the rear view mirror" -- this song starts out ringing true. And you don't realize things like this until you indeed do get older and by then its gone. Those moments. Did you appreciate the 'now' when it was present? Are you today?
