This is scary how it takes me RIGHT BACK to 1985 or 1984 --even '83. Tuggin at my heart strings and I feel as if in a time warp. I can't stop listening. It is really hauntingly beautiful. The 80s were so magical. Love to all who are here feelin' the same.

Look, these artists are specialist in emulating nostalgia by using sounds patterns which tap straight to the Generation X collective memory. Songs that sounds alike are typical to the crap the industry pulls out since we crossed the 21th century. Creativity has been suppressed and replaced with a fast-chain music production line, for a fast-consuming mp3 audience. I mean, today's music aren't made to last long at the base, which is why there's no classics other than what the "Synthwave" artists are successfully trying to do. So if you want to do musical appropriation by lying to yourself with your "DISTINCTLY FROM 2020s", go for it. Actually, it's good news, since even if you can't understand how this music transports our minds to a much more pleasant times than now, your reaction is proof that a particular interest in musical quality is emerging within your own generation. This song could've easily fit in a playlist with similar format hits like : The Police - Every breath you Take, 1983... U2 - With Or Without You, 1987... Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Philadelphia, 1994... Yeah! I agree this last one was released in 1994, while your *DISTINCTLY FROM 2020s* "The Midnight - Bend" was released in 2016...

@@CSM100MK2 You miss the point, dude. Synthwave songs might have a modern flavour but their musical composition (chords and melodies) and production (the sounds used) were very prominent in the 80s.

Midnight hits the emotion that we never experienced..

The Midnight is the only group i know that I could have all their songs on shuffle and i would never notice when one song finished and another had started. I just get lost in it for hours and days.

This movie is a weird one but always have love for it being shot in a lot of places I grew up around in Portland. Always thought it was funny how they could go from portland to the oregon coast in 10 minutes in this movie. When in reality it like an hour and a half drive lol.

I was born in 84, my life as a child was through the 90s. The 80's hold an emotional hold on me as well as the 90s. The movies were great in the 90s and 80s. 80s will always be the decade that movies and music worked out well together. Not experiencing that feeling anymore other than reminescence of those years ; and then to hear these brand new songs made to fit a movie piece from the 80s in its glorious retrofashing is just a refreshing thing to sit back and watch as well listen. Thanks for showing me that this genre can still be pulled off in today's world!
