This picture of this old PC hit me very strongly. Watching this song's video, I remembered my childhood. My dad left our family and we had very little money. My mother was writing her PhD thesis. From the university she brought home, written-down old PC, just like this, and used it to write thesis. During my allowed time, I used to play old games on it, like Settlers. That PC was not able to run newer games, but it was just perfect for me. And after we connected to the internet (year 2000), I found mIRC messaging service, where I found many people of my mindset, and this beautiful girl. I was chatting with my distant girlfriend during the nights, we phoned each other, and spent hours together... but we never met in reality... I remember, sending pictures was a bit difficult, because I had to take a picture of myself, using film camera, bring it to the shop to develop a photo, then scan it at my friend's house, and send it through email. I find this beautiful music and pictures hitting me so strong on my nostalgia of simpler, better times. Now I am afraid to check my phone's notifications of all those overwhelming clients and job related stuff.

The California aesthetic in the photo is giving me so much nostalgia of being in a house in palisades for a few years in the very early 2000's. which for those who don't know, the setting of this photo *is in palisades!* and the artist is aaroncampbell.

I have never wanted to hop in a time machine more than now, if only for one moment, to relive the time when my family sat in front of our Compaq Presario PC and heard the dial up tone for the first time. Oh to see my mother's face again. What a glorious time to be alive. Thank you for this amazing track!

Just do the best you can and try to move forward. Sure, we will never live in the 80's again but we can try to remember the ideals before social media... and just try to do better! Remember the time when friends who cared used to call their friends to just say HI, how are you? No agenda.

It might be my absolute favorite song of all time, even. The Midnight will be in San Francisco for New Years Eve this year, and I really want to go, but I don't have anyone to go with. I also missed them when they toured with FM-84, one of the biggest regrets of my life. I won't be there to see the NYE show, but I'll be listening to their music and imagining I'm there with the friends I wish I had. Love this group so much.

I really miss the 90s sometimes, when I was just a kid without a single worry or care in the world. No smart phones, no tablets, no social media, no work related stress, no drama, no bills to pay. Just life. The only thing that mattered, was "How long can I stay outside with my friends before I gotta go to bed?" I could sit here, listen to this song on repeat, and stare at this image for hours, and lose myself in all the memories, but life happens way too fast for that nowadays. Screw it. Just five more minutes...

These lyrics are so simple but have so much impact and it literally makes me ache with such a sweet sadness every time I listen. In fact, most of The Midnight ‘s songs do this and it really helps me process my memories and feelings in my life so far. Somehow this melancholy sound, these words help me keep the good times and memories close and reminds me why life is worth living. Thank you for your beautiful, healing music Tyler and Tim. 🖤✨

The lyrics are so simple, yet so humanizing. The distortion is perfect, as though reflecting the mask that we all wear when going through the feeling of love. The song might refer to the entire community, but for me it's all about you. After having given all in, to become human and wanting to be loved, despite the experiences that have shaped us and that tell us that we are ultimately all alone. Are we all one beating heart? That's the only thing I want to feel with you. One beating heart. No phase difference. As if we were made for each other. Or am I the stranger that's just meant to teach some and learn some and move forward in case we are unable to become one beating heart?
