The Mexican-American War, also known in the United States as the Mexican War and in Mexico as the Intervención estadounidense en México, was an armed conflict between the United States and Mexico from April 25, 1846 to February 2, 1848. It marked the first U.S. armed conflict chiefly fought on foreign soil, and It pitted a politically divided and militarily unprepared Mexico against the expansionist-minded administration of U.S. President James K. Polk.
The Discovery of America... and the opening of the great American West in the early 19th century is explored. The westward march of Americans toward the Pacific sets the stage for the Gold Rush.     Mexican army though larger in number was outgunned with inferior older weapons and artillery, and the Mexican generals were not willing to support one another due to all of them positioning themselves to cease political power after the war was over. It was not a united army. But by all accounts the fought bravely.

    I really liked the fact that people in 17th century, including heads of states, were so religious. Their belief in God was unshakable.

    $30 Million was a fair price. The area, with about 2% of Mexico's population, was basically ungovernable. Mexico took over land held by secularized missions and was selling it for 4 cents per acre. Most of the land the US acquired was unoccupied dirt useful for nothing at the time.

    Oh, you mean the conquistadors who gave the indigenous Christianity. The indigenous Americans were put under worst treatment with American rule than Mexican rule.

    The mexican and american war didnt have a single american in it. Just mongol asians fighting their dutch cousins, by this time the americans were mostly registered as african americans and or shipped to africa or south america
