THE MENTAL GAME- A Short Film

Спорт

An inside look into the minds of three professional poker players, Tony Dunst, Asher Conniff and Tim Reilly. Poker can be a very stressful profession without the proper mental training. They explain ways they stay sharp and mentally prepared without going insane in this game.

It takes a lot of effort, discipline and patience to be at your best evaluating your hands for 6, 7, 8 hours. At some point you do get tired and that is when you get up, cash out and walk away.

Love it when the guy starts talking about people being unpleasant dickheads at the table and they immediately cut to a shot of Will Kassouf, perfect timing......

the mental game is not hiw do i solve the next puzzle. the mental game is achieving a state of perfect flow in the zone so you can have the discipline to make correct plays. solving the puzzle is generally ez i lost a tournament yesterday from tilting not bad logic and math

Im pretty new to poker and what bugs me is "reverse" bad beats, when i fold J8 o and would have flopped a str8. It happens waay too much, i just want to fold in peace!

How come older men can’t win big tournaments ? I’m talking about guys in there sixties. Is it the lack of stamina? They don’t understand the math ? What ? What’s your opinion ?

Certainly not due to not understanding the math. The young brain is just better at poker. It can learn, remember, focus, process, and adapt better for longer and in more creative ways. An aging brain becomes rigid in how it sees things and operates, not to mention plain old cognitive decline that we'll all experience on some level. The brain wears out all we can do is try to slow it down.
