The Memphis Mafia Discuss Elvis Presley's Movie Years
Ойын-сауық
Elvis wasn't just famous for his voice, he was also getting movie deals like they were going out of style. Some of his closest friends claimed that these were the best years of their lives. But there were also some downsides.

Thank you for this! Love it! But at the same time, I hate hearing this stuff about my ELVIS. Rip ELVIS, miss you a lot!💜😢🙏
Movies 🍿 such as Wild 😜 In The Country, King 👑 Creole, Love Me Tender, Flaming Star 💫✨. Kid Galahad, Jail House Rock 🪨 Change Of Habit, etc. showed that Elvis 😇 ❤️ was a very talented and intelligent 🤓 actor 🌈 who could carry a drama.

Exactly
I actually like his movies.
I watched the original 5 hour video. Plus met many of the boys from the group. Great that you have divided them into different subjects

What? You sleep when I sleep? Hell no...
Elvis' greatest acting may have been seeming to be happy when they gave him crappy songs and light weight scripts.
Poor Elvis, he was so used. His manager did him so wrong. Plus Parker had a lot of side deals, he made sure he made extra money off Elvis, and he did not care to develop his artistry. Elvis could have been an excellent actor. But….. he would have given up a lot of money from movie making so the movie making won out.

I love Elvis but I just do not stand to hear that he was used! He was not a child he was an adult and he knew exactly what he was doing regarding the pills. Now the chapter movies: Priscila said that many times Elvis was sighning contracts without even to read them! I am not saying that he was not enough inteligent but it seems that in this kind of business someone needs a stong personality and Elvis unfortunately had not a strong character to say NO.

@@loukiasykallou4266 I really urge you to read Destined To Die Young. It is a newer award-winning book (2021) that explains why Elvis took prescribed medications to begin with and why he continued to do so. He had many ailments, disorders, and diseases that confounded his many doctors Much was not known then, but is known now. . And he did not die from a drug overdose, nor did his drug use cause his heart attack. Elvis was “used” in business because he was unsophisticated in those aspects and because he put total trust and loyalty in his manager. Yes, it’s been noted by many that he never read his contracts, again because of that total trust.

Not true. He could have made untold millions if he had done a world tour. He didn't have to do movies, he wasn't an actor.

@@joannemcclure3546 It isn't an award winning book other than she self-published and she got some BS award for that. The book is full of mistruths and theories. Elvis had health issues but look at his cousin Billy in this video who stayed away from the drugs and is still alive at 80 and Billy has the same grandparents as Elvis.
