When Rocky came out that also was an amazing movie for the times. Yet it did not win awards either. Something in Hollywood is fishy. Austin Butler was great at this and the movie was very well done. Should have earned more credit and awards than what has been given.

One of the best movies I have seen in a long, long, time. I think Austin Butler’s portrayal of Elvis was absolute perfection. He definitely should have gotten an Oscar! Can’t imagine what the judges were thinking but they sure got it wrong. The late Elvis shined through Austin Butler!! I’ll watch this movie over and over again!!

Hollywood is very much a ‘business town’. ELVIS didn’t win anything-and it deserved more Oscars than BEST ACTOR-is because Baz Luhrmann isn’t a Hollywood guy. He doesn’t play their politics. Austin and ELVIS won the international awards. But not any Oscars or Screen Actors Guild awards. Austin definitely won the hearts of movie goers the world over, especially the US. After all, Elvis belonged to America. And we saw the 50s, 60s, and 70s in America through Elvis.

I loved this movie, I saw it several times, will have to watch it again. Perhaps some of it was not biographically accurate but it was entertaining and informative enough to generate new fans of Elvis. I'm a child of the 70s, a little late for the Elvis period, so I enjoyed seeing the background of the 1950s. It should have won at least 5 Oscars, best picture, Austin Butler best actor, Baz Luhrman best director, Catherine Martin for costume design and for set design. I feel sorry for Lisa Marie, passing away before the Oscars, but at least she didn't have to eat her foot, and she got to see Austin win the Golden Globe.

An interesting behind the scenes look at the movie. Months after watching this movie, I'm still in awe of how much preparation Austin Butler did for this character. It's funny that some people say he looked nothing like Elvis because I didn't really think about that as I was watching the movie because he did such an incredible job portraying Elvis. It does make me sad that all this talent was wasted on this particular movie though. Being titled Elvis, I expected it to be more about Elvis, not focused on Parker and an over-the-top weird portrayal of him. I love Tom Hanks, but this portrayal was just weird. Having seen interviews with Parker over the years, I felt like this movie was more of a way to make fun of Parker. Had this character been a more realistic portrayal and not a circus show, this movie could have been so incredible. I also didn't feel the connection between the actress who portrayed Priscilla and Austin. There was so much passion in that relationship and it just didn't come across here. Maybe Priscilla wanted to be portrayed differently than what we knew her to be, but it felt off. Austin Butler was truly amazing, but I absolutely hated the rest of this movie.

El Oscar éra para Austin y Elvis.🤦🏻‍♀️

Oscar comments prove that most people don't know the fix is in when it comes to that particular "award". Could be because they chose a Brit to play Elvis. Like there weren't enough good southern American boys who could have played Elvis just fine.

It seemed to have too much Priscilla's overwatch on it, there was some good things though, but i think kurt Russell did Elvis just as good, and the storyline was shortly after Elvis died, but long enough to get into the drugs, and stuff. I think you should watch both movies, then read or audiobook the ones that the inner circle wrote about him. And get the real picture, the interviews with the girlfriends and so on later on in life. The whole mindset of Elvis seemed to be very carefully designed by others and himself, he learned early on how image sells everything

I love Elvis and Austin was amazing. I couldn't finish it. I hated the view of the movie from the manager and what was worse is the narration. I tried 3 times to watch it and even tried to fast forward but it seemed to be more about the manager talking than anything. Ruined it

It was through the crooked managers eyes. It was supposed to be from tom parkers part & all of his crooked dealings. But Baz did the movie justice. It was great!! I didn’t like hearing parkers voice either but to see Austin portray Elvis was amazing!!! You missed out!!

Colonel Parker was the murderer. That’s why he left his home country in the middle of the night and stole the way of the ship for America. He never got papers so he never could get a passport. That’s why Elvis could not go to Europe and tour like he wanted to And Colonel Parker is the main reason Elvis could not get any help when he needed it because all that mattered to turtle Parker was that he gone stage. Elvis died of stage four end stage bone cancer. It has spread all over his body to every part of it. He needed those medication‘s in order to function, and he did not want to disappoint any of his fans. The man was dying. There was no help for him anymore not back then there could be now, I know what that’s like. I watched my mother die. I watched my husband die. I watched my son suffer through chemo for months to get cancer free and God has not once let me have the disease I should’ve gotten it everyone on my mother side of the family on her daddy said died with cancer, because there was no real treatment for it back then if the kernel had let Elvis get treatment, I don’t know if that would’ve even helped it would’ve helped with his high blood pressure. It would’ve helped with his glaucoma. It would’ve helped with his heart problem, and he may not have had to be on somebody drugs if they hadn’t caught the cancer early with the kernel wouldn’t let him off. He kept him doing concerts in excruciating pain. He was in stage four late stage end stage bone cancer that has spread to his entire body. The drugs he took the drugs that they give dying patients well it doesn’t matter how much they give them because all it matters is they keep them comfortable and he had no idea how bad off he was, he just kept doing what he thought God and put it on this earth to do. That is a true Christian, and his faith was very strong.

The greatest Elvus movie ever was with Kurt Russell. He literally owned that movie. He was so good that they used kurt Russel's voice for Elvis in the Forrest Gump movie. Nothing else needs to be said.

Lets to us all be reminded, what was expected of rich to do to get to heaven? Mark 10:21 KJV Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. Mark 10:25 KJV It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

he didn’t look or sound like Elvis , but he had his movement on stage down pretty good, didn’t see an Elvis impersonator yet that looks or sounds like him , don’t think you ever will , the people that knew Elvis and his father were not impressed with the movie, but I think it was better than the other Elvis movies, they worked hard I think to do the movie, but there was only one Elvis , then they broke the mold, never be anyone even close to him .
