Thanks to everyone who left their perspectives in the comments! It's great to see people who are very existentially intelligent, a quality which is very rare today. If you would like to know an easy habit that takes less than 2 minutes and basically zero effort, then this video is for you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6V6j6R-Y9HfodY.html

Love how concise this is! I feel happiness is irrelevant though. We can live a life packed with great memories and still not become anything. Life’s about giving to others and making their lives better. Personal happiness doesn’t matter.

yeah i agree the main goal of EVERYONE is to seek happiness. seeking happiness is most important, my moral beliefs are you can do WHATEVER you want as long as youre not hurting anyone physically or emotionally :)
the meaning of life is what you make it to be

It is to be one with God. Our creator.
So the meaning of life is to live in the present moment.

Exactly 😁
Bro you will remember me when I will be famous my nickname is SsomMeEsH (i ain't a kid lol) 😂
I mean you're right but what you said is such a small part of it. The main meaning of life, biologically and spiritually is to leave a legacy. Wether it's children, your stories and adventures, some inventions/discoveries or all of the above. It's also to serve a community and help improve life for our species in general will it be through your community or at a more large scale with social media. Also "seeking hapiness" is a terrible life philosophy that only leads to hedonism and short term pleasure. Because hapiness is such a short term feeling. We should be seeking fulfilment which will make us have more happy moments. Fulfilment is a state of mind. Happy is a feeling. We shouldn't chase feeling but state of minds. Only then can we truly be free

Seeking happiness is different from instant gratification
@igor_ostrovski
Ай бұрын
@@DanielXoo I understand that. You didn't understand that seeking a feeling isn't good. Because feelings are temporary. Feelings should come naturally from good experiences, not because you're "seeking" it, it makes no sense to seek feelings and it only denatures the spontaneity and realness of them, which doesn't make them even good. As I said we should be seeking things that are long lasting, like fulfilment , legacy etc.

I don't agree with what you said about happiness being short term. You said it's important to seek long lasting things like fulfilment and legacy, but won't those both lead to happiness? Happiness is a very broad term, and although there are things that lead to short term happiness such as instant gratification activities, long term happiness can be achieved by living in the present moment, practicing gratitude and following your dreams
Memories are images of the past, not the present. If your meaning of life is to collect memories, then you want to live in dreams of the past.
@DanielXoo

And while you are making those memories, you're in the present 🤯🤯 that's what makes them good
In Islam, man's ultimate life objective is to worship the creator Allah SWT (English: God) by abiding by the Divine guidelines revealed in the Qur'an and the Tradition of the Prophet. Earthly life is merely a test, determining one's afterlife, either in Jannah (Paradise) or in Jahannam (Hell). For Allah's satisfaction, via the Qur'an, all Muslims must believe in God, his revelations, his angels, his messengers, and in the "Day of Judgment". The Qur'an describes the purpose of creation as follows: "Blessed be he in whose hand is the kingdom, he is powerful over all things, who created death and life that he might examine which of you is best in deeds, and he is the almighty, the forgiving" (Qur'an 67:1-2) and "And I (Allah) created not the jinn (demon) and mankind except that they should be obedient (to Allah)." (Qur'an 51:56). Obedience testifies to the oneness of God in his lordship, his names, and his attributes.

To be honest, I don't know how to define happiness. But I assume you know how it feels to be happy. To answer your second question, you're alive because your parents fucked and you won the sperm race. But now that you're alive, you have a purpose and mission to achieve.

Amazing question that I've been pondering for my entire life. I have no idea, and nor does anyone else. While there is definitely an objective answer to your question, it's unfortunately impossible to find out because we will never have enough evidence to support it. There are only subjective ways of answering it, but personally I think that every person on this earth has their own purpose and mission and the potential to achieve it.

@@NinetyRalph yeah but thats on the gamble that your religion is right and all the others are wrong... Pascal's wager states that its more likely for you to have spent your time on earth meaningfully if you do not follow any god, as you are not limiting yourself, and your risk of eternal damnation is the same as it is with any other religion due to the "if you dont believe in it youre going to hell" type stuff in every religion
