They already have been. The burly brawl is hideously dated with some appalling CGI and the highway chase has been surprisingly well replicated with Unreal 5 on a PS5. There are loads of modern action films, even stuff like Nobody and the John Wick franchise, that are far superior to Reloaded but just the two Raid movies kick this movie out the window and show how to really handle ‘Kung fu’ …

The mix of sound design, choreography & action storytelling in the aforementioned scenes are top notch and your examples… ‘Replicated’ in a video game? Really? That your hot take? Lol Give me scenes that are better, head to head, not generalizations from other mediums. The series you mentioned got nothing on the ‘Reloaded’ bar that was raised, which still stands unsurpassed. Give me a scene/sequence that tops those three I mentioned in a ‘never been done before way’ because ‘Reloaded’ truly takes the Merovingian’s cake.

@@theofficialmascot Well, you’ve got hundreds of classic martial arts cinema that are groundbreaking in that all the actors actually do all the stunts instead of loads of CGI. I’m not damning The Matrix as I love the original and the car chase was great but the burly brawl suffers technically. Everything just looks too rubbery and lacks weight where the simplicity of, say, Morpheus vs, Neo in the original still stands the test of time. But as far as groundbreaking action that doesn’t rely on modern technology then simply go back to classic Shaw Brothers movies and Jackie Chan classics to see really awe inspiring feats.

When you see this part that's when you realize most people are bots. They all follow a script. And are all controlled by the system. People who hate this film are more than likely bots. Because the program is trying to hid them from the truth. When the first matrix came out, I watched it in theaters. And I remember people walking out. I always questioned why? Now I know that they were controlled and told to reject the movie.

The idea of a zombie-like swarm fest from bots is actually pretty cool but it should be a longer scene, more fighting and more guns.

😆 Ohh. That is HORRIBLE!😆

By the time this movie starts, Neo's been living a pretty sedentary life while jacked into the Matrix for something like 60 years. Of course he's gonna be rusty with his moves and power, so he has to spam the cheat codes he remembers how to use well. Plus, Keanu Reeves is nearly 60- he can't quite do the same level of fight choreography as the first 3 movies had. Resurrections is far from a perfect movie but I think people are reacting to it much the same way they reacted to Reloaded & Revolutions when those came out, and like Reloaded & Revolutions in time hopefully people see Resurrections better than they think.

While some of your comments on Keanu are fair, bear in mind that Keanu Reeves does the John Wick films, where the action is even more intense than in the Matrix trilogy. Keanu is not to blame here, action choreography (or maybe, in that case, the absence of it) is. Also, by no means is the reception of Resurrections comparable to the one of the Sequels for a simple reason: Reloaded made a billion with inflation and Revolutions made, without it, as much as the first film did. Resurrections is hailed as one of the greatest box-office bombs of all time, bringing in only $150 mil from a $300mil budget ($190mil production budget & $110mil advertising budget). For a film to be proven successful, it needs to make more than 2,5 times its budget. Guess what happened here.

no my bro. Sadly for us, Lana Wachowsky forgot how to direct. I mean, look the movie again and you will see that there isnt a single great fight scene. Just the typical low bugdget action film with a lot of scene movements. The story wasnt that bad but they really messed up with the direction

The Original Trilogy was Epic, this on the other Hand...

Neo raising his arms to do some Star Wars stuff might be cool the first time...but this is ridiculous. Nothing epic about this bike chase. The original one was far better, more exciting and people could actually see what was going on.

Could've been an amazing movie. I don't think there's anything wrong with the script, but they should've definitely casted Hugo Weaving, had better choreography and a cleaner edit with longer shots. I'd have loved for the Merovingian fight to be a more "return to form" fight with lots of slow-mo and incredible martial arts, even if the rest of the movie isn't that way it'd have been a cool callback.

WHOA! Neo is gonna fight a hundred Matrix Zombies, just like he fought a hundred Agent Smiths! This is gunna be totally excellent, dude- Oh. Its just Trinity on a bike. Nevermind. 😑

And so i watched Resurrections again and this time came away feeling a bit more entertained. First time around i was confused frustrated and just thought it an absolute waist of time and money spent. This time ill give that perspective about 25% of my feelings towards the film, it wasnt all that bad, but it also wasnt entirely NOT what we had come to expect from a 4th film. One of the ideas was indeed a sorta resurrection of sorts. as we already was made aware that the machines in their quest for human energy supply had experimented on humans to the 10th degree. we've seen this via the Animatrix. The machines knew how to disect a human and yet keep it alive and functioning. all sorts of things. so with all that happened to neo and trinity theirs no real leap required to think they had the knowledge to keep their bodies alive, right after the final events. not only that, Neo's and trinities bodies were kept in virtual youth for over 60 years. But where the story falls is upon its very mirrored concept. placing neo and trinity back into another matrix. recreating the very thing that put both the matrix and the machine world at risk. Neo was the anomaly and thus the problem. Smith was the code trying to sort itself out. And both wouldve been considered the biggest threat to the machine world.

There was no oracle around this time to play everybody. Thats the primary reason why Neo an Trinity along with Smith were put back in a new matrix.

The machine world was already at risk due to energy shortages. The Analyst's model was one born out of desperation, not precise calculation.

Well that's why Smith was under a different name life etc and why Neo was a game dev who came up with the Matrix..... The machines needed Neo to produce energy and they needed him to be stressed hence the "dreams" and since they knew Smith would come back they reworked his code. Resurrections like Reloaded and Revolutions before it will find its audience.

Liked the movie but I want a video game where it fills that 80 year gap…or some of it..like the goal and mission of the game is finding the location of neo and trinity…and how to get to them and make some machine friends lol…that would be awesome

I am a diehard Matrix fan and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Are you not familiar with all of the animatrix lore as well? there is a lot of stylistic changes between the episodes in that series and this movie taking place 60 years after the war and taking place within a new matrix construct of course it would have a completely different feel to it. I thought it was a nice way to give Neo and Trinity a happy ending because even though at the time, the ending of the matrix trilogy made sense, it was a very bleak and sad reality that the matrix would inevitably continue on and all of Neo and Trinities sacrifices would have been in vain. This movie remedied that ending with a heartfelt conclusion to the series. I give Lana credit for having to put up with Warner Bros. trying to drag this franchise through the mud. I can't imagine the careless direction this movie could have gone if Lana didn't step in and agree to do it after so many years of them pushing for another movie.

This miracle happened later - when Trinity gained the ability to fly which ultimately saved her and Neo's Lives.

The movie felt as if the creators were intentionally NOT giving the fans what they wanted to see. For example in this sequence, Neo can't fly, which leads the entire team to prepare for a brawl in the streets, with potentially lots of choreographed hand-to-hand fighting, and maybe even a chance to show how this version of Neo was powerful, but with powers fans hadnt seen yet. Nope - just gonna jump on the bike and ride off - which obviously allowed the creators to limit the time needed for the cast to learn/rehearse fight choreography, and put the work on the VFX team.

This Has to be one of the Best Neo and Trinity moments from the whole Matrix franchise. To be honest I like the fourth part as much as the first movie. I see more Action in this scene comparing to the Chase in Reloaded (that one was already epic). I was actually worried About the Crew when bots attacked them when watching the movie back in December.

The cameras switch angles 9 times in the first 10-11 seconds of the scene.

This movie had the potential of being a film talked about for decades. Like a decades long awaited matrix movie it mimicked. Instead it was more like a pretentious castrated mime with Priceline spark plug shards as gloves tapping along tempered glass, shattering it a translucent rainbow mirage, known as the dark and gritty dessert of the real

Looks like the hardest thing to do in the matrix is being plugged or put in the matrix in a group or somehow

"Epic" is a strong word...

I slept 4 times watching this movie in the theatre

This looks like fan fiction, or like it was produced for the CW....
