There’s nothing better than him thinking “I might get out of this” then the end card slowly fades in

5 minutes in and chat told him you can play a spike carving on top of another spike carving despite the tooltip not saying anything about it. blew my mind.

Me, on my death bed waiting for NL to finish/replay Hollow knight.

NL learning the frog was like watching his brain get larger over time. I don't love the character (or the robot, to be honest) but it is impressive how they've managed to change the playstyle of "put things in a grid" so much.

It's not really niche. He just doesn't give this game enough thought. You can view your carving deck, it's not that hard to plan empty spaces for the carvings too if you take like few mins during the entire run.

I feel like the complaints NL has about this game are the reasons I enjoy playing it. I like puzzling out the weird interactions between different items, so every item being unique in its own way makes this game a lot more appealing for me. I also enjoy min-maxing. In that sense, NL isn't the targeted demo.

Robot is actually not as complicated as it seems once you get past tutorial. I’m case it’s complicated, clicking the energy thing is how you use your ‘energy/moves.’

I like this game but I really don't think it's for NL.

43:32 Aboslutedly no! The carving guy sells carvings and removes carvings from your deck. The normal merchant buys anything (up to 3 items) and sells random normal items. The random NPCs that sell you a specific thing (wand/fish/cleaver/whatever) just do that one thing.

Love the game but it’s true. The new characters feel iterative and should not be unlocked until after maybe 5 wins or so

Honestly it isn’t that complicated, idk why he didn’t bother taking time to learn the character and read. At least save your life with the consumables and then just replace them after the fight.

He died to curse despite having a healing item. This makes me sad.

This game has actually turned into what I hate about so many modern deckbuilders where it's just "oh yeah there's two encyclopedias worth of cards, you have 3 characters in your party, 4 decks, 3 discard piles, and 9 classes, good luck figuring this shit out"
