Kevin, can I suggest you make a video on what are some of the injuries you suffered while handling these majestic cats? I think it will really educate the public on the real risks in keeping these big cats and not all fun.

I agree. Kevin has a remarkable relationship with these animals but it also looks so fun and easy with no danger and I could see that being very appealing to people who think these animals just look like big, beautiful house cats.

Definitely had a few talking about his injuries . For instance Thor bit him during a shoot for a movie due to the stress of all the cameras and ppl around . But here we are with Thor still .

Really interesting how Thor dosent see you as a threat but he does Charlie , shows how intelligent those magnificent animals are, constantly calculating what's goin on , amazing

Great to see Charlie getting all the love lately from the rest of the pride. I remember when he was a bit grumpy and everyone stayed away lol

Thor's the main man, but Charlie's the mane man.

I used to see lions like they were all the same. Hundreds of documentaries, videos, etc later it’s much easier to see them as individuals. Just like with humans

There is a deep instictive way which a lion whisper already knows the risks. It's why he is keeping them in their own environment. Also, we the viewer, are able to witness the effects of our wildlife, and the decreasing effects happening, and fast. And in the last place wildlife rules, still... It's an honor, and hard work - bringing it home to view, up close and personal which heightens the awareness. Thank you Kevin for doing what you do. 😇💫🙏

Very curious that you are freely walking with them carrying their treats in a pouch on you, they know you give them treats, know where they come from, could easily help themselves to your stash byt they don't.. ..why? ..true they may be well fed n not that hungry, but they seem pretty keen when its doled out, does this take some training around power dynamics and boundary settings..? Or..?

I'll never be able to enjoy the privilege of walking with these beautiful cats, but these videos are the next best thing. Thank you!

Yay White Lions ! I love seeing the interactions when the females are going through false estrus. Very interesting ! And it's true, when you see wild white lions (and non white) compared to Thor and Charlie!?!?!?....night and day! Wow! Seeing the difference between your cats and the equivalent aged cats in the wild was a big shock to me. It really shows what pristine condition your cats are in. On the flip side, how hard life must be. Literally fighting to survive and the moment you display a weakness. You done.

😮 Wow, the difference in manes between Casper, Thor, and Charlie is incredible! Loved this video and seeing the behavioral dynamics playing out.

I've seen a hundred of your clips and still never stop being amazed at the skills you have and relationships with these beautiful cats. I didn't think this was even possible and admire your work so much. I'm going to donate again.

I just love this group so much. Thor certainly didn't want to share his girls, must be frustrating for them as well?. Loading them is almost like going on a roadtrip with a bunch of young kids full of energy, non of them can agree on who gets to sit where and there's always at least one who's grumpy.

I would say it's because Thor came from Thor senior, a lion Kevin really loved and died in 2013. And Charlie comes from the movie the lions starred in, Mia and the White Lion, and the lion's name there was Charlie

This was very very interesting to hear and to witness. Their dynamics truly demand a neverending fascination. I love the number of little details you give us, and point out the actions we wouldn't have noticed otherwise. The mane takes time to grow, and well-cared lions in captivity (as are Charlie and Thor) definitely have more nutrition, more care, less stress and injuries than those in the wild and have so more chances to grow a luxurious mane that is the envy of every shampoo commercial. But as you say, all cats are magnificent, and the Casper that you have shown in the video is so very beautiful to watch.

So amazing to see the change in demeanour from Charlie since his headaches were treated! So cool

Thank you for such an educational video. I appreciate you explaining why the girls are still going through estrus cycles; I thought it would stop after their surgeries, so was surprised to learn that if they still had an uterus, they'd still experience estrus. I loved seeing the dynamics between Charlie and Thor. I especially loved how much the girls were loving on Charlie! A year ago they gave him a wide berth because he was so grumpy. It's amazing how much difference a year makes!

Always a pleasure to watch Thor and Charlies pride on an enrichment walk. Thor may be the dominant but the girls have other ideas and prefer Charlie. Loved this video!! To see how Thor handles the 'situation' Charlie and the girls. He gave Charlie the look, a push, a slightly raised lip....but not a big fight. I think Thor did just fine and Charlie......he was sublime (and the girls were the naughty ones 😊)

An interesting video for sure! Great behavioral interactions between the 2 males, and the females in false estrus. The number of theories regarding the male lions mane are fascinating. They all have merit, but I tend to think the idea of showing condition to potential mates is a particularly strong theory. Thank you for such an interesting walk! 🦁💖

You can see how much this pride loves you ❤ so awesome. They are amazing wild lions. Their manes are what I like to call feelers. They can feel the wind, changes in temperature and thry help insulate and keep them cool. Thats what I put together from all my studies, its because of you, and a select few others that learning about wildlife has become one of my passions. ❤ Hugs to you all.

It is incredible how even in pretty stressful or somewhat chaotic situations, the lions never have a defensive/aggressive attitude against Richard. In any case that energy is redirected between them though. That is pretty remarkable and speaks volumes about how truly special and unique this man is. GOD SEND as they say !

I love how you explain everything, these are things I never knew before about lions

I gotta say this is one of the best videos so far. Getting to see what false estrus is about and getting to see how Thor the dominant lion expresses his self to that. I still love the other videos. This one is just different. Kevin hasn't really had to talk about this topic or the real thing in awhile.

Such an interesting video. It was amazing seeing how Thor was trying to keep his ladies away from Charlie and the girls wanted Charlie. It was also interesting that some of the males even try to keep Kevin from the females at times. I would never have thought they would think of a human as that kind of competition. I miss getting to see the Birmingham pride on the Wild Earth safaris. I just think the white lions are so beautiful.
