The part with the Sand People is probably my favorite thing in this episode. It's canon, on-screen evidence that they aren't just pseudo-mindless savages. They have peaceful interactions with others.

I mean of course they aren't just savages lol. One of my favorite Jedi turned Sith came from the Tusken Raiders. People should know more about them and their culture, they are savage bad asses. Its why I want a trilogy at least of a full blown show dedicated to Darth Krayt. So we can explore the Tusken Raiders, such a great orogin and stories that can be told with Krayt/A'harad Hett.

One of the things I really appreciate about this series is I don't ever feel like it's wasting my time. The story moves at a really efficient pace, and I don't ever feel like I'm being fed padded dialogue or character interactions. You can tell that the show's writing really benefits from Dave Filoni's experience with developing short animated episodes.

Yeah I think people were expecting some grand over-arching story but I almost prefer just tuning in to see a 40 minute episode filled of Star Wars goodness and I'm sure later season or next season the story will pick up once they establish a foundation. I never said the episode wasnt for me. I've had fun watching every episode. Im not wrong that chapter 5 didnt advance the story. You can skip chapter 5 and not miss anything as far as the overall story. The only thing we learned in this episode of significance was that Mando can communicate with Sand People. Where is Mando going? What is his plan for Baby Yoda? We'll have to find out in chapter 6 of 8 because 5 told us nothing. Forgive me for "spewing." I really like Filoni, but he directed the two weakest episodes of this series. I still liked them, but 2, 3, and 4 were better directed than 1, and 5. They just were.

@@danieldavis2347 What you consider the "important story" is completely subjective. I'm much more invested in The Mandalorian and who he is as a character as opposed to why the Empire wants baby yoda. Both ep4 and ep5 have been Mando centric, I which is advancing the story of the main character. Just because there wasnt wasn't progression of the specific thread you want, doesn't mean the episode didn't advance or accomplish anything or is skippable. That's jusy like, your opinion man.

The droid bartender was the same droid from Jabba’s palace and was voiced by Mark Hamill.
The first cantina shot is a direct reference to Mark Hamill's interview on the Empire of Dreams documentary of the first time he shot the cantina sequence in ANH. "There's a frog guy and a mouse girl and a giant cricket at the bar"
*sees this drop in my feed* "This is where the fun begins"
The voice telling Mando where to land was Steve Blum. EV-9D9, the new bartender, is voiced by Mark Hamill.
"He didn't wear spurs" *most iconic sound from Boba Fett apart from his radio is his spurs*
Aaron was actually really close to what's up with Boba Fett's armor, as per the Aftermath novels... it's intentionally vague, but a guy named Cobb Vanth bought an acid-scarred set of Mandalorian armor from some Jawas around a year (or less) after ROTJ. He set himself up as the lawman in a small community. I figure it's probably Boba Fett's armor they're talking about, but there's wiggle room for them to go another way.
Baby Yoda walking out of the ship looking for daddy Mando was too precious too handle
I was talking about the ending with some friends and we all agreed, 'Spurs' at the end was DEFINITELY The Gunslinger. Break down the Western tropes: The newbie bounty hunter is The Kid. Ming Na Wen's character is The Assassin/The Black Hat. Mando is, of course, the Mysterious Stranger. And that leaves Spurs as The Gunslinger. As to whether it's Boba Fett, Cad Bane, or someone entirely different...hopefully we'll find out in a week.

So many great callbacks to other moments in Star Wars lore; Mando landed at the same spot where Han Solo did in the added scene where he talks to Jabba. Bobba Fett saying "He's worth a lot to me" is a call back to Mando saying "she's no good to us dead." And then there's the Cantina--that's full of droids and our newbie bounty hunter sitting just like Han did, legs crossed and ready to shoot first. It rhymes (as you know it would) I started watching you guys when my kids and I were watching Rebels. It's so enjoyable seeing these reactions because it feels like I'm watching them with old friends long gone; Eric is the star wars nerd I am. Shane--the handsomer best friend who is "almost" as big a nerd as me but can cook like a mf. I hate your handsomeness lol. Calvin--yuuuge nerd, but sensitive and a bit awkward. Aaron--90% the nerd Eric is, but with tiny humans to take care of and a redhead fetish. I get it man. Rick: The old Ben of the group, wary of the prequels but trusting in Dave Filoni. You have the high ground. I'm 40. My actual friends are spread all across the galaxy, raising kids and living their lives. You guys are my virtual SW friends. I'm so happy you get to keep these bonds alive and make money. I love taking part in these conversations vicariously--keep up the great work and keep making these videos. It's amazing that such good friends can support themselves by broadcasting their friendship. Also, I think the gunslinger is Cad Bane. Why? Because DF like the honey badger doesn't give AF.

Probably my favourite episode so far, in this great show. For one - to finally be back on Tatooine after so many years of having budget, carbon copy versions of sand planets (Jakku, that new sand planet from episode 9, obviously Navarro from the earlier Mando episodes and even to some extend Jedha though that one was more unique). The entire section in Mos Eisley was amazing. Same with the Sand People - probably my favourite part of the entire episode. Specially the sign language.
Agreed, none of these episodes feel like filler.
FINALLY. Let’s get this shit started!!! (I get more hyped for your reactions than the episodes themselves sometimes 😂)
