I don’t think that was the same lightsaber Yoda used in Revenge of the Sith a Darth Vader comic series set immediately after the events of that movie establishes the lightsabers if Jedi who died during Order 66 were thrown in a furnace and Yoda’s lightsaber is distinctly amongst them.

@@mikeschmidt4624 Right? The whole show feels like it should be about Boba drifting away from his former ruthless persona. Use Cad Bane (introduced earlier, like episode 2 or 3) as an antagonist to contrast Boba "becoming soft" aka having empathy and respect. Then I stead of just pausing the show for a Mandalorian preview, introduce Bossk to fill Mandos role. Bossk has had a major part in Bobas life and further helps the whole theme of Boba becoming something greater than a gun for hire. A lot of this show just feels wasted and it's a shame.

I feel like Dave Filoni directed this episode with the sole intention of finding out how many times and how intensely Star Wars fans can squeal and cry in an hour.

"Why are we here?" "You don't want to be here?" "I want to be every where." The best way to describe this entire episode.

And both episodes were absolute BANGERS, the best by far?!? Let's face it, the fact that Boba got severely outshined (even sidelined!) in his own show proves that he didn't deserve one in the first place... I think he was saying that due to the reputation that Boba is trying to build up as ruling via respect instead of fear, and he was emphasizing that Boba worked for the Empire. Could also be he's saying you can work for a killer or stay out of it. But yeah I can see what you mean.

They hired a KZreadr who made a video fixing cgi Luke from the season 2 finale which is why the deepfake looks seamless, not uncanny valley but actually perfect as though mark hamill was doing it. I think he also helped with cgi Grogu. Cad bane was also well adapted, liked that they kept the voice, sold it for me. Rosario does a good job as Ahsoka but I have a hard time with it just because she doesn't have Eckstein's voice. Great episode all around.

Cad Bane was so terrifying in this. After Bad Batch, he's kind of solidified as a 'rule-breaker' when it comes to star wars. You wouldn't expect anyone to force Anakin to open a holocron, or to shoot Hunter to near-death out of no where, but he always gets away with it. The second he appeared, I knew Cobb was fucked.

What’s funny is I’m pretty sure Cob could’ve taken out Cad, or at least make it a mutual kill where they both drop, but he was visibly distracted by his deputy. For all that Bane is badass he isn’t Force-Sensitive and he’s really old whereas Vanth is younger. He could’ve outdrawn him, IMO. Still loved it, and I’m just glad Cob survived😂

@@StopReadingMyNameOrElse yeah I’m guessing since Cad was sent by the Pykes to negotiate for Freetown to stay out of the war, they likely told Cad to keep things clean essentially cos Freetown losing their sheriff would make them go to war anyways, more likely than not. Cob dying is a declaration of war, but injuring him is a warning to stay outta the Pyke’s business. He even tells Freetown to let the spice run through Tatooine and that they’ll be safe if they do so. Course, the deputy pissed him off and that cost him his life. Considering this is the guy who fought Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano and many others and coming out on top, not just surviving, means he is not someone to be taken lightly. God forbid Ahsoka learns Cad Bane is still kicking around as a Bounty Hunter after all these years. I can honestly see her settling things personally and as she is right now, probably the strongest and most experienced Jedi around with Ezra and Luke coming in second, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

Props to the designers, they made Cad Bane freaky looking

I actually cried when Din left without saying hello to Grogu and what made it worse was when the poor little guy reached out for him! :'( And this line hurt: "I came all this way... he's right there."

Can we just appreciate how amazing this is? Seeing a young Luke Skywalker training a baby version of Yoda, getting advice from a live action Ahsoka Tano, all while Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, a live action Black Krrsantan and the two Gamorrean guards prepare for a war against the Pykes - with live action Cad fucking Bane against them? I don't know if my heart can take anymore D:

@@stevesmith9617 Let's pretend you didn't say that 😆 No, I'm 100% that's NOT the case. If anything Ashoka is the last living person that Luke may know that has memories of Anakin and Padme. Luke is still human and wants to be able to see Ashoka again because of her connection with his birth parents.

Ahsoka is fanservice... and a very, very good fanservice. You already have a good story, a good plot, and the top cherry cake, is Ahsoka talking with the son of her master. I love it!

If you saw how much fanservice there is that adds nothing to the story and is only done to appeal to the nostalgia of the fans. In this case, seeing Luke and Ahsoka together, and having ahsoka mention her father to him, or say she's a friend of the family... it's worth it. It's what you call a DESERVED fanservice.

The shot of Bane walking in the Desert like walking death is underrated.

This episode looks like a Game of Thrones episode. Different characters, different locations, different plots all connected. And actually, I'd be ok with a Star Wars show built like this.

This episode made me cry like a baby, laugh like an idiot and everything else. What an emotional rollercoaster, definitely the best episode yet.

Shocking, heartwarming, heartbreaking, terrifying. As a Star Wars fan the range and depth of emotions I felt in this episode... overwhelming. Filoni is an ABSOLUTE MADMAN.

Din not seeing grogu is literally like a parent leaving their children off for preschool but can’t see them during school hours. My own dad actually was brought to tears just like last week because it reminded so much of my first day. It’s one of those ouniversal feelings even in a galaxy far far away. We legitimately had to pause it because we got THAT emotional which rarely happens.

Not gonna lie, I got CHILLS every time Cad Bane had the screen. I mean, he was always a badass, but here he was just terrifying.

Eric standing up in hype of Cad Bane is amazing. Love his enthusiasm, it’s infectious. Lol

Not only that but if they keep this franchise going on Disney+ with other shows etc. They can’t keep paying Sebastian Stan, a expensive actor for something that can be done with deepfake. And this way they’ll keep improving on the tech as well.

Holy wow…I just realized that the lightsaber moves Luke did in front of Grogu were the same ones Anakin did while Ashoka and Ezra were watching the Holocron in Star Wars Rebels!

I was thinking that when I saw it because I just saw a reaction to that episode, but I had no idea they were the same. Nice touch

Love how Aaron brings up books going on detours and Calvin mentions Harry Potter! I remember the first time I read Half-Blood Prince and the book started off with The Other Minister...yeah, I was super confused for a bit but I love reading that chapter!!

With the love that people are giving to Timothy Olyphant's portrayal of Cobb Vanth, I'd love to see Blind Wave react to Justified. I see so many Raylan Givens facial expressions every time Cobb Vanth is onscreen.

I believe Luke is testing Grogu. Just like how Yoda and Obi-wan tested Luke by making him choose between saving his friends or continuing his training with Yoda. We all know who Luke chose and when he came back, Yoda called him a Jedi. Luke also mentions to Ahsoka that Grogu is remembering his training more than him actually teaching Grogu.

When Luke came back and asked if he is a jedi Yoda laughed in his face, he tasked him with confronting Vader to become a jedi However I do hope Luke is testing Grogu, see that Luke chose the 'armor' over the jedi every time (saving his friends then saving his father)

They totally introduced Cobb as a cowboy-esque character with this in mind lol he’s been a Trojan Horse for Cad Bane this whole time and we didn’t even know

He was definitely shown to be a good shooter in the beginning to tell how much better cad bane is but i think it’s mainly because the actor who plays him Timothy Olyphant is usually typecast as a lawman Such as deadwood and justified

A really good friend of mine was a HUGE Starwars fan, he passed away about 15 years ago, watching all this great Starwars content is bittersweet because I know how much he would be enjoying all this stuff! RIP Steve.

lol golden age was 20 years ago, this could be the second or third coming if they abandon the dead weight of the sequels. If they force it to that terrible plot than this goodwill may die quickly

Cade Bane showing up was literally the greatest moment in the whole series for me. The designers did such a great job making him as cool and menacing as he was in animation. Also, I’m pretty sure my family thinks I’m crazy now because I literally started fangirl screaming when I recognized his figure.

He looks too new. He needs some lines, some wrinkles, maybe a slightly darker blue hue, a slightly dark shade of red for the eyes. I think his gauntlet were pretty clean too. Everything about him felt like new paint. He's like a Vespa Teens of Cad Banes. I'm wondering if that's his grandson or something. It reminded me of very good cosplay, but lacking in budget. If anything the skin needs more details.

Aunt Ahsoka, "So much like your father" That line hurt so much in the best way. So thankful for Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

"So much like your father". That line was so incredible. I felt so many emotions from those words. Even reminded me that it was my father who took me to see Jedi in the theater when I was 6 years old.

My jaw dropped when Cade Bane first came on the screen, I love it, such a badass character!

Din's destiny no longer points to bounty hunting. That ship is a sign.

I can watch Luke running thru a forest with Grogu on his back, doing flips and training him for hours and it still wouldn’t get old. This was everything I wanted to see from Luke in the sequels. Thank you Feloni and Favreau.

This episode was just...perfect. Thank you, Dave Filoni.

Ashoka seems a lot happier now knowing her masters Fate and that his Offspring Luke inherits his best qualities. It was great to finally see the two interact with each other. Luke CGI was also top notch, still uncanny at certain points but generally a lot better than the Mandalorian S2 Version. I was surprised at first how little Time was spent with boba, but then again it is called “Book” of Boba Fett, and like any book some chapters wouldn’t be focused on the protagonist but other characters instead. Seeing Cobb Vanth was great with the start establishing his skill as a gunslinger, but once Cad Bane came in he was a dead man. Speaking of Cad Bane his implementation into live action was perfect, the voice is intimidating and his design is unsettling and puts us right in Cobb’s shoes with the fear he felt in his presence. Overall great episode and I look forward to the finale next week with perhaps a final duel between Boba and Cad Bane.

It was only uncanny when he closed his eyes, to me.

I found the force lifting of the frog-things so emotional. Like the way Luke had tried to lift the x-wing before Yoda did it. Now Luke is the master. This episode was everything I needed from star wars.

They got a new double for Luke, a guy called Graham Hamilton who looks a lot more like Hamill than Max Lloyd Jones does. I'm sure that helps make it easier and more convincing, in addition to Shamook helping out. Also during the Order 66 scene you can see Barriss Offees crest on the wall.

Love the episode but i get angry at myself not liking the deepfake! It pulls me off the universe. Maan Sebastian Stan would be sooo perfect! To get a real actor to interact with Grogu. I know im supposed to love myself Eric, but it pulls me off...

Literally everyone just wants it based on the looks while disregarding whether he would be a good fit as an actor. CGI ain't perfect but at this point I just accept the slight uncanniness and it doesn't really distract me from otherwise one of the best pieces of Star Wars content we ever had.

Oh Aaron and Eric shedding all the tears. I feel you! I got so nostalgic and overwhelmed with joy seeing all these beloved characters and relics. Gosh.

You know it’s a good episode when not only Eric but Aaron tear up. That line about being just like your father got to me. I’m hoping for a flashback to see when luke and ahsoka first met

How do they just casually go and give us everything we want on top of eachother in The SAME episode, im speechless, thank you Dave and Jon havnt felt like this in years

@@lookn4juliet Boba Fett's highlights are watching his dad get decapitated, being Vader and Jabba's lapdog followed by getting a "death" worthy of a Stormtrooper. I hate bounty hunters and find them boring but atleast Cad Bane was competent enough to outsmart the Jedi on several occasions.

The scene where Cobb shoots those guys was trying to show how quick he was. It was a setup so show just how fast and deadly Cad Bane is.

Of all the reviews I've seen of yours, Def my favorite. The sheer love of the show/genre shows so clearly

I would like to see Grogu force-construct his own lightsaber and incorporate Luke's teachings of what it means to be a Jedi into the way of being a Mandalorian. The two ideologies seem incompatible, but I think Grogu has what it takes to combine both, like Tar Viszla. Grogu should become... The Jedilorian.

Just saw the episode and Cad Bane looked and sounded soooooo good!! I'm still in shock that he showed up but he's the perfect character to insert in this storyline.

When you realize... Boba got tusken and Mando got Jawas... they actually have an army on Tatooine

Thats gotta be the one thing i expected more in reguards to the show, in that i thought part of the reason boba becomes protector of tatooine (i guess it is the case still) is that he respected the tuskans enough to protect their interests, among other things. And i really hoped he would earn the backing of almost all tusken tribes for the upcoming mob war, which hasn't really happened.

This series isn’t about boba feet anymore. It’s just fan service the series. It all doesn’t make any sense, but as long as it is emotionally charging our audience to be happy or happy tearing, it means it’s good. Who cares about good storytelling when all we need to do is show young Yoda or Cad Bane to get people back together? Actually stupid, Disney Star Wars has become.

EFAP was right.

Cobb quick draw moment and think it through comment is just as good as his actions and comments on Justified. Great show.

Eric's look into the camera at 47:28 when Rick talks about maybe seeing what happened to Ahsoka after the cut-away in Twilight of the Apprentice in the Ahsoka Series... knowing what's soon to come in the final SWR season. Glorious.

The moment I finished the episode, I knew that this was gonna be a teary reaction. What a time to be alive for Star Wars fans. I loved this episode SO MUCH. It was like a fever dream, I couldn't believe all that was happening IN LIVE ACTION.

In a single live action episode we got Cobb Vanth, R2D2, Din Djarin, Ashoka, Luke, Grogu, Cad Bane and all I gotta say is IS MAX REBO SAFE? IS HE ALRIGHT?

A couple of things I wanted to point out...First, I've thought since the beginning that the pikes killed the tuscans and framed the bikers. They had just had a discussion with Boba about how they were already paying protection to the bikers, and they weren't going to pay the tuscans too. The pikes are a galactic cartel, why TF would they pay protection to these backwater gangs and tribes? Especially if they had plans to move on Tatooine like they are? But I DO like the idea that Cad Bane was the one who pulled the trigger. I definitely felt like if either the pikes or the bikers had done it, there would've been bodies/equipment left behind.... Secondly, I freaking LOVE the acting nuances for Luke! From the moment we see him, he is this calm, confident Jedi master teaching a student. He has all the answers. He's in control. But then in his conversation with Ashoka, you see this vulnerability and doubt on his face as he looks to her to tell him what to do and guide him. He's suddenly a boy looking to an older family member and it's FN amazing. I get all misty-eyed every time I think about Luke and Ashoka being together, and bond they both share having loved Anakin as a father.

I feel the decision to have Asoka in this episode was more for a narrative tool than fan service. They needed someone to convince Djarin not to see Grogu. I guess you can argue they could have had Luke do it but remember they really had to limit and film around him

If they'd had Luke do it, he'd be the bad guy. Having Ahsoka do it, who already rejected teaching Grogu before, there is an element of wisdom but also a grey area of necessary evil, and it continues the thread she started by pointing out the emotional attachment between the two and the danger it poses. Having her remind Luke leads him to give Grogu the choice. This way it's not Luke forcing Grogu to choose him, but Luke acting om Ahsoka's advice, which is rooted in her experience with Anakin and the Jedi council. It gives it more weight, and keeps Luke innocent.

Cad Bane is TERRIFYING in live action and I LOVE IT. I am so happy to see him. And I'm so happy to see Luke and Ahsoka share a moment. It felt so incredibly special. 😭

Wonder what Shand's reaction will be. She and Bane kicked the shit out of each other in Bad Batch. WHAT IF....Fett's army is the Bad Batch?? What if we get Omega??? What if Cad is really working for Qi'ra and this is all Crimson Dawn and then Bo Katan goes nuclear to get revenge for her sister's death

Seeing Luke and Ahsoka together made me violently sob. I cant wait to possibly see their first meeting in the Ahsoka show

I need to see the first meeting between Luke and Ahsoka, where she tells him all about what his father was like and he tells her that he was redeemed before his death. That conversation needs to happen!

This was an incredible episode. Two things come to mind 1) I’m sure we are going to see Grogu’s flashback in the future but this time it will show who saved him when the clones were running towards him 2) I feel like in the finale that Cad and Fennic will have an exchange next week where someone mentions something about Omega/Cloned Girl in front of Boba and Boba will learn of Omega

I hope in the very beginning one of the members of the town tells them about Cad Bane and Boba goes "we are gonna need more muscle" and Fennec replies with "Lemme make a call" and then boom, bad batch show up a few scenes later with guns hot and a wrecker ready to punch something

It's not only awesome to see Cad Bane appear in Live-Action but also awesome that Corey Burton who voiced Cad Bane in The Clone Wars and Bad Batch animated series is still the voice for him in Book of Boba Fett instead of going with a different actor/voice instead.

Picturing Ashoka and Luke sharing stories about their past just melts my heart. She tells him all about his father and mother when they were young. He tells her about how Vader redeemed himself right at the end, essentially telling her that Anakin was still in there all along... Amazing.

5:55 - When they talk about the Razorcrest being not only a ship but a home, the other 3 all said "uh huh" at the same time. AMEN to that statement!!!

Realizing Ahsoka learned there was still good in Anakin about made me cry. (I'm sure Luke told her).

I cried watching this last night but seeing Aaron’s reaction to Ashoka and Luke talking broke me

When Asoka says so much like your father and then the next shot we see the Luke standing. His stance reminds me of how Anakin used to stand in the movies, with that little slant. Could be wrong too.
