A perfect example of an educational project that was first dismissed as a mere fantasy, but now provides even quite a few jobs and economic/tourism income in that region of England. Proof that when you combine creativity with professionalism, you can achieve truly great things.

BEST museum in the Country, it shows you exactly in "snap shots" how life in Durham Coalfields and North East was to a "socially acceptable" degree. I love the place, my Grandfather lived in one of the miner cottages from Hetton-Le-Hole.

I’ve been going to beamish most of my life and I’m very proud the fact it’s still here. Tones of pleasant memories due to the efforts of people that are passionate about there uk history.

we are not trying to be biased in any direction. we are not trying to say for instance 'these were the good old days' any more than we are trying to say 'these were the bad old days'. because they were both in a sense, depending on who you were and where you were at any point. so what we are trying to say, in a sense, is that 'these were, the days'. this is how it was... fascinating video. breathtaking incredible beautiful people. thank you. your find and upload as much a treasure as the content within. thank you too :)

I like the store shed items waiting for a turn on display, or to be lent out as a film prop even has an iron lung to roll out for a suitable script

On some of the videos of Beamish, I have seen a Local Policeman Constable out on his beat.
