Gut-wrenchingly powerful. EVERY single expression on her face, every eye movement underscores the meaning of each word she utters. Regardless of how many times I watch this performance (and the original rendition seen in the film, which is itself amazing), I am awed that such talent could exist. “The Wizard of Oz” is a marvellous, timeless classic, but I feel sorry for those who only know her as Dorothy.

+Terry Asheim Sinatra also covered this song, but called "The Gal That Got Away", the only male vocalist who could also make listeners believe he knew about heartbreak. His version was recorded after his marriage with Ava Gardner disintergrated, and contains the wistful plea "Oh, won't you please come back?" He was a huge fan of Lady Day as well. He went on a four day drinking binge when he learned of Billie's death. He also paid the costs for Judy's funeral in 1969.

I fell in love with her voice more and more as the song increasingly climaxed. That pitch and her incredible talent to belt that sound... ahh, it melts my heart. I feel like she was singing to me, telling me a story. Full of love and heartbreak. Oh, it may seem like I'm just rambling on and not making clear sentences, but these words and feelings are the only way I can express my emotions which come straight from the heart. Thank you Judy Garland for being the only person that can make me feel this way. You were truly gifted, and from the bottom of my heart, I love and adore you. RIP ♥

I have Cher singing it Liza but Judy owns it more and more as she sang it to the world that she visited through out her life. GOD I miss good music thank GOD for u tube I go back to when my Mom was here and hearing her always on the turn table.Record player back then.L.O.L. Rest in Peace Judy GOD knows you gave us your all and more.No one has done it since..................

This is a concert I would love to see! No one can match the natural talent (keyword: natural) that people like Judy Garland had during this era of American music and entertainment. Everyone these days wants visuals. Whatever happened to listening and appreciating the god given gift of voice? This is what music and entertainment is all about. You're supposed to connect with it, not go crazy over things like stage props and videos and what not.
