All I could focus on in the first bit when he was going on about being 50 was that his face is not the same colour as his body and his facial glow seems to be makeup. I’m 53 and I was looking younger than 50 at 50 but the yrs after that is when the wrinkles started to form, so he can brag all he wants things will likely start changing pretty quick. Some dieticians have pointed out that there isn’t just one Mediterranean diet, the Mediterranean encompasses many countries and many diets with some variances. It’s been said that we have tended to be a bit racist when referring to “the Mediterranean diet” because we tend to just refer to the cuisine from the countries where the people are predominantly white ie Greece.

I can't help but noticing that in the raw vegan scene, there's a bunch of shady folks takin' advantage of people's lack of knowledge and need for healing. These gurus, man, they're still usin' old-school marketing tricks like mixin' in spirituality or using conflict with that "us versus them" vibe. They paint the medical system as the enemy to build their own tribe, like some kinda cult. Nowadays, these cult leaders ain't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. Back in the day, they might've pulled it off due to the lack of access to informatioin, but now, with the internet and everyone gettin' woke, it's a different story. Only the clueless, the desperate (including those strugglin' with eating disorders), or straight-up narcissists are keepin' this movement on life support. But let's be real, it's losin' steam by the day. I never really got the diff between regular vegans and raw vegans, but with characters like Freelee and Shane poppin' up, it's startin' to make sense. I am not dffending the vegans, but the raw, adds a bit of esotherism and woo woo that could be tempting to the weakest link.

I disagree on these cult leaders not being effective. Unlike the old days they have the internet now and literally billions of potential victims, they only need 100,000 or so devoted followers and they make a very good living just by putting out videos and not even counting the products they sell. Raw vegan and carnivore cult leaders operate the exact same way.

Im not raw vegan, but replacing my diet with vegan and adding suplements made an earth and heaven difference when it comes to my skin condition. Brian Turner has another channel called "team acne" is basically vegan and he made a videos explaining how he made his skin look better. One thing i dont like about the guy you are talking about is he thinks beans are toxic, but our bodies need high protein in order to grow hair and collagen in skin and hyaluronic acid and more connective tissues. Plant proteins are ideal for it, because they dont age us like animal proteins inducing IGF1 secretion and activating mTOR protein.

@@donatina1987 Omega 3 DHA APA are must have for healthy skin indeed, having a whole complex od Omega 3 from both marine sources and from nuts and seeds is the optimal way. I supplement it tho, cause animal protein still comes with drawbacks, fish also could be toxic if eaten in excess thanks to the metal pollution. Collagen cant be eaten from meat or tendons or bone broth, you need a specific collagen peptides supplement to have it work on your skin, because it is specifically made to be bioavailable for a digestive tract. Both supplements omega 3 and collagen could be sourced from algea and marine plant sources. You could use animal sourced, i wont blame you, they are cheaper. On top of those two supplements i recommend Glucosamine, MSM, chondrotin that comes in 1 tablet, and hyaluronic acid supplement as well. D3 + K2 is also essential for healthy skin, i also take vitaminc C and multivitamin with minerals, and biotin+zinc+selenium. No babe. While hair colour in very rare cases can reverse, like my grandfather went from snow white in his 50s to having a singificant portion of ordinary greys and even some black hair again in his 80s, I can assure you that eating raw greens has nothing at all to do with it. If anything, it's easier and healthier on your body to eat processed greens, such as those that have been frozen or lightly cooked, because your body simply has an easier time digesting and absorbing nutrients, or simply because it's flash-frozen so quickly after harvesting while fresh spinach gets to travel and sit on a shelf for quite a bit before wilting, all the while losing its vitamin C. Keep consuming raw greens, it's never bad for a person to have a nice, fresh green salad, but it ain't gonna bring melanin back to your hair.

He just popped in to tell me that it was the Pythagoreans, and they supposedly didn't eat beans because they thought they contained the souls of the dead. According to legend, Pythagoras buried some beans, dug them up after they sprouted, and thought they looked like fetuses. Theory proven, obviously! Anyway, this is of course just a fun story. Who knows how true it is, but we thought it was funny enough to leave here for fellow bean-enjoyers.

Wooo what a grifter. Also that 80% nutritional deficiency number has basically been linked to too much processed foods in the American diet (can't recall the review, but basically, despite a massive obesity problem, many people are not getting appropriate nutrients due to relying on highly processed food completely in their diets). "Take bold action" (i.e., do not think about what I am saying too hard, just believe me). You will pull legumes out of my cold dead hands, and also soul tribe sounds *really* "borrowed" from indigenous folks...

I'm glad that his diet is working for him, but that's not going to work for everyone. This is why I like your channel so much and have watched you for years. I'm not even vegan! So now you’re shaming Shane? ? Just bc you’re not a raw vegan does not mean it does not work. I’m raw vegan for years and it works best for me. And some raw vegans are obsessed with only sweet fruits(having more greens and bitter stuff, raw fats, is great for you). I hope Shane comes on here and defends him. How do you know he’s not telling the truth? Plus he’s helped a lot of ppl who shared their before and after stories. Really mean to shame ppl who promote raw vegan.

I said that people with hyperthyroidism might want to be careful with both of these adaptogens as this can stimulate the thyroid and increase T3/T4. I actually had this experience. He replied with, "Hyperthyroidism is a cooked food problem. You don't have this problem eating raw foods."😐

Visible aging is not just about skin, we all begin to lose tissue and bone mass as we age, and given how his temples are sinking, he's no spring chicken and all the botox and filler in the world doesn't hide the fact that this is a middle-aged man getting a lot of cosmetic and digital help to look 'young'.

However, as can easily be seen through watching my various vids, I do have my share of grey (even white!!) hairs, mostly in my beLoved beard, but also on my head, I do have my share of wrinkles... so: either this guy lies about his age, _or(?)_ he lies about _"natural hair, natural skin blablabla"._ 😂

While I think veganism helps, I am putting it more down to being a lifelong non smoker who is also terrified of the sun (so English lol). Oh and no kids, I've seen from my younger sister how those can add a few years to your face. Still love my nephews though!

When I heard about the Hunza tribe ”factoid” I got immediately suspicios. Do people not know what Pakistan is? It is not a rainforest country with abundant fruit supply and no winter. Like there is no way this could be true if you have just 25% knowledge about the region, the climate and so on. The only places where people could theoretically be sustained on fruit are tropical countries

I think every kid is different and will have different food interests, pickyness, tolerance for textures or messiness. I feed both my kids a mix of blw and pureed stuff. I think the biggest positives about BLW are teaching parents how to serve different things appropriately to babies and to manage anxiety around choking and learn the difference between gagging and choking. I have family members that are so afraid to start finger foods with their kids, they fed them nothing but pouches and baby cereal at 18 months, marveling as my 8 month old ate roast potatoes or steamed carrot sticks or toast sticks with hummus. It's insane to me how scared so many families are to give kids real food, and those pouches are expensive and bland, so your baby rarely likes them. I just want to remind parents that prepackaged baby food didn't exist back in the day. If you would eat it with a spoon though, help your baby by spoon feeding them.

Cook the legumes properly and you'll have only health benefits from them ( if you aren't allergic that is ). Even tomatoes are more healthy when cooked. Since the invention of cooking humanity was thriving, cuz cooking helped us to digest many food better, allowing us a to have a bigger nutritious variety. Every anthropologist agrees with that.

I absolutely love your videos and I loved how you debunked this lad with science studies. Just a pedantic comment on methods... These studies have a limitation, aka they were written by mostly English speaking people visiting the region for a limited period of time. There might be research in various Pakistani languages that we cannot access as they were never translated (also if we're talking about older anthropology/ethnographic research there's a good amount of paternalism and racism, as you clearly mention). I'm not claiming that there's a bit secret related to the Hanza people, but maybe people have studied their genetics and habits beyond eating and found links to longevity. That being said, I'm pretty sure this over 100-club is a myth, but as a fellow scientist I wanted to point it out ;) Also please keep doing these videos, they are SO FUN to watch. The music comment made me almost spit out my coffee out of laughter 😂
