Great reinterpretation of Swahililand. De La Soul sampled it on Stakes is High, but all time favorite is 3:16 by Cyhi. The difference is you allow the keys and instrumentation to really shine. And of course Mick rode the beat. 🚀🚀🚀
I swear this is the chord progression from the stakes is high- De la Soul ( sampling Ahmad Jamal -Swahililand )
That "Stakes Is High" feel will forever be timeless! Love seeing just how much goes into this. How do you choose which notes play what when building out the horn and string harmonies? Is it all just what you've done with the piano but stemmed out to the individual sounds?
