Ron I didn’t see and or understand the humor behind this sketch when I was in middle school and wondered why they were so mean to the innocent white guy. But as an adult now and experiencing how racist some white folks are, it’s actually funny to me to see the reverse happen. In a country where it’s gotten so bad that cops have to wear body cameras and you have all this systemic racism seeping through the cracks of every aspect of society from work to school to finances, it’s a literal mind fuck and it’s easily traceable back to the colonizing, genocidal and enslaving origins on which this country is founded upon.

Dave Chappelle is a comedic genius. He created this skit to reveal the hypocrisy and racial imbalance that occurred on the reality MTV show, The Real World at the time. The Real World usually had one or maybe two Black roommates. The other roommates were white and during each season; one if not both of the Black roommates were mistreated and ultimately kicked out.

I remember my mom telling me she’s never seen me laugh so hard when i first watched this show, truly truly great comedy

@@akashsasidharan9747 I am very white lol. But I am not looking for bonus points running around shielding other ppl from reality. Most races of ppl are different, and that's good, it's ok. Some ppl are great ppl, some are racist, A lot of ppl are just As*holes who don't have time to give a shit about anyone but themselves. I would rather know a person is a racist or an As*hole than this fake Generation of Social media hero's we have. At least I know them, even the bad parts about them. Then I know who I can count on! Either way this show was the best thing ever..everyone got it. Dave didn't hold back on anyone, and we all laughed at ourselves! Frankly, only Dave could have done this show too!

The most realistic scene was when they are always partying and they get upset when called out for being loud, That's SO REALISTIC

The roommate who always fried, stays out of the way and randomly has hilarious reactions to the craziness of the other roomates is a entire vibe. 😂

@@marioss2167 Charlie Murphy played a racist CO on a show called power and he didn’t like the main character ghost when he got to prison. So he was beating on him and said he was gonna have sex with his wife and have his kids call him daddy when ghost get the needle so ghost blacked out and beat him to death with a bench press weight
