Official Description:
A replica of the massive mace wielded by the Dark Lord Sauron in the prologue of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. When Sauron's forces battled the Last Alliance of Elves and Men on the slopes of Mount Doom, Sauron emerged on the battlefield wearing blackened steel armor. In one iron gauntlet he held a massive six-bladed, black iron war mace. On one finger he wore the source of his power, The One Ring. With every swing of this terrible weapon Sauron crushed his foes, sending intimidation and fear throughout the ranks of all who would stand against him. This replica of the actor scale prop used in the movie is crafted of reinforced fiberglass-resin with an aged iron finish. Close attention to detail is a top priority in every piece, down to the intaglio-etched surface and corroded metal coloring. The oversized One Ring worn by Sauron is also included, crafted in gold plated solid metal. Displays on a polystone wall mount (mounting hardware and instructions included). Also included is a 53” in overall length, cloth war banner with the Red Eye of Sauron.
While this was sent to me by a vendor, I was under no obligation to give this item a positive review. Any praise/criticism in my reviews is my genuine opinion/thoughts. If you are surprised that I really enjoy a LOTR piece of memorabilia, you really shouldn't be. :)

The Mace of Sauron: One of my personal favorite Lord of the Rings weapons.
A giant mace for a giant fallen angel. Makes sense Sauron would copy his master (Morgoth's) weapon. One hand welding a giant
Matt whips out Sting to do the unboxing. Sting: *Glows blue* Matt: :O
Original run had some stress fractures just below mace head. I displayed mine next to the masterpiece collection severed finger of Sauron. Nice piece!
I just got the United Cutlery Sauron Helmet and I was in AWE as I took it out. It's amazing to have as a display piece. Perfect addition to a Lord of the Rings collection
That looks epic! So, happy for you to have it, Matt! I love how you pulled Sting out to open it. A little suggestion, you gotta get Legolas's knives and learn to pull them out like he does then you can really open your packages in style!
I'm so jealous of the red banner that comes with this... I bought it a couple years ago and there was no banner. I really wish BudK sold the banner alone I would instantly buy it.

United Cutlery does great work. I have Aragon's and Bilbo's swords hanging on my wall. Both very well made and worth every penny.

Does it weigh more then Gimlis ax? I remember Gimlis ax being very heavy. I would be surprised if it's heavier.

It's definitely the coolest weapon I've seen. I'm getting worried one of these weapons is gonna fall of the wall and hurt someone though. Your going to have to have a war reenactment soon with that arsenal

@@311mikey Personally, the banner just seems like another cash grab from United. Just like the sculpted stand for the Sauron helmet and wall mount for the gauntlet. Just another way for them to release a "different" edition than the limited run they made previously. Great way to stick it to your long time collectors, but good for new people just starting out!

How do you display the banner behind the plaque/mace? I couldn't see a hole in the banner where the screw would go to hold up the plaque?

Find the mass of this Mace of Sauron and a conversion factor to estimate the mass if it was made of cast iron. I doubt if it was made of Mithril but it is possible it was or another alloy, perhaps a nickel iron.

I would put the ring... When the mace is hanging... On the center stud of the mace... It would fit nicely right on that tip... And would be seen much better from the observer... And people would know what it is right away

no the swords are stainless steel... this was not made with metal because it be would VERY heavy if so

Funny thought: what if sauron welds morgoth’s mace? That could be morgoth’s mace and armor that sauron has been using to continue with morgoth’s goals of domination and destruction

Here's a question. Tolkien spoke of Galadriel's temptation when asked if he shied away from sexuality in writing, while also stating that writers often seem to not have reached puberty in theirs, and I'm wondering... Was Tolkien referencing Galadriel's words "all will love me..." as though she'd be lusted after, and so "all would lust for me." Or is there a separate sexual temptation he was referencing? FYI he also stated that his books were of war, and that sex wasn't such a longed for topic in such writings. I'm only wanting to know, because he sounded like he was tired of having been judged as one who was not comfortable in writing so, and was pressed upon often to write more promiscuously. I wanting to read all the literature to determine what he was talking myself here, and in many other things, but alas for years I've been building a homestead...

The Dark Lord must have had a good breakfast every morning to use the metal version of that beibe😬💜☠️ When I was younger I manufactured lot of items like that - not that massive thou - forging and casting metal. I had my own Isengard at my father's place. I also graduaded from Kuopio academy of design(Finland) and during the studying I spent hell-a-lot time using the machinery of our school creating wonderful artefacts like this... I miss those days a lot. Now I am just drawing Tolkien inspired pictures at home and raising kids🤭😔

Say what you will about non-dwarfish or non-elven craftsmanship, but the bad guys seem to have been no slouches, as well. Would this have been forged and decorated by orcs, Southrons, Easterlings?
