The Los Angeles Lakers: Professional Basketball's Casting Couch

Спорт

Hollywood has always been a land of intrigue, cunning, and cutthroat tactics. To the joy of many in the basketball world, the Los Angeles Lakers have adopted many of the negative aspects of Tinseltown. Countless cases of backstabbing and betrayal, organizational nepotism, public outbursts of drama, and some really bad basketball.
At the very least, the Lakers know how to put on a good show... for all the wrong reasons. This video will show you what went wrong. Buckle in, there's a lot that did.

In hindsight, Cleveland probably won by letting LeBron go elsewhere. They were pretty much in the same situation with LeBron that the Lakers are in with him currently, and they are quietly improving atm. Meanwhile, the Lakers are severely underwhelming despite the championship in 2020. Hell, outside of that year, they haven't even made it out of Round ONE with LeBron. THINK about that. To me, we are seeing a new trend of big signings/trades backfiring on teams, with not only LeBron and the Lakers, but also Kyrie and KD with the Nets, Kawhi and PG with the Clippers, Harden and Westbrook with the Rockets, etc etc

Vincent Frank okay, but is there any other reason that players signed with LA except for that Lebron was there? LA lucked into Lebron because he just wanted to move to LA with the rest of his family and then all the players were like FREE RINGS WOOOO, and to attract them, the Lakers execs needed the money to attract them, and the Busses are loaded. So yes! It’s due to having the money to sign any players they want and kicking into Lebron to be a magnet for great players like AD and ring chasers like Dwight Howard. If Lebron went to Phoenix for example, which I think is a relatively small market team compared to LA, do they become championship contenders over night? I don’t think so, because the suns need more than just Lebron to make it to the Finals. We saw that with Lebron’s first year in LA. Players would want to go to Phoenix to play with Lebron but I don’t think the team would have enough money to sign said players, so they’re not as successful. LA lucked into their situation, and the Western Conference and maybe the NBA as a whole is worse for it. But I can’t complain since this is legal and the rules are the rules
