Cam and Zay - Even the smallest person can change the course of the future. The Hartfoot and Hobbits are the true heroes of the story.

Actually, Sauron really wants to heal Middle Earth, but in a kinda twisted way. Basically, when Morgoth was defeated, he asked to be pardonned by the "gods", and they told him he had to face them and accept their punishment if he wanted to be pardonned. Sauron got scared and also to pride to accept punishment, so he went into hiding, and according to Tolkien, he repented for some times, trying to heal Middle Earth until he relapsed in evil. The way they seem to be portraying him is like a guy who did something wrong, but is trying to buy himself a way not to have to face the consequences of his actions. A bit like someone who would give money to the woman he r*ped and then say "see, we're even, you're not my victim anymore". And i think it's some kind of a coping mechanism for him, a way to escape his responsabilities while convincing himself he's facing them the right way... The mind trick he does to Galadriel, however, shows his true face, and here, the writers used a bit of "toxic boyfriend" psychology. He first tries to gaslight her, making her doubt Sauron was evil by posing as her boyfriend, then, when he realises she's not buying into it, he tries another approach, slightly less dishonest, and he tries to seduce her with power, but then again she doesn't buy it, if he was truly now a good guy, he could just say "since you are not willing to work with me, i will then leave this place" but he doesn't and he immediately goes to threatening her, because deep down, that's what he is, he doesn't really care about her. Another thing, when he poses as her brother, you seemed to be like "come on, don't buy into it"... and i understand that reaction, but have you ever lost someone? A friend, a relative, someone you have missed dearly for years? Imagine someone evil comes to you, and takes the appearance of this person... you would know it's bs, like she does, but there would be a part of your brain that wants to believe, a part of your brain that is happy seeing that person again after years of missing them. And Morfyd Clark played it perfectly, the way she looks at her brother knowing it's not her brother... but still seeing again the face she missed for thousands of year, a part of her could not resist that feeling of joy, eventhough she knew it was fake.

I loved this series. Btw "...follow your nose" is the absoulete evidence that this guy is Gandalf. Why because he says similiar in "The Fellowship of the Ring"

22:50 but yes your intentions were right. Sauron is deceiving not just her , but us as well lol cause he is practically a sociopath, psychopath type of person that can get into people's heads with his words ( just like how you see people when they come into contact with the Ring. It's him speaking of great power to them and promises. ) he doesn't actually like her in that moment it was just his true power of being a master manipulator towards to her and the audience watching coming into play. Trying to bring her to his side to make her not a partner but a tool. In Saurons head he just treats them like objects basically lol tools he can use and discard in order to have order in the way he wants to rule Middle Earth. He's scary when it comes to how he can deceive many people mentally lol just like how you're seeing Celebrimbor being easily manipulated. It's fun to finally see this come on screens cause we don't get to see in person what he's like , only in spirit form with the ring minus the epic war prologue that happened in Fellowship of the ring where he's a giant tall armoured beast of a man lol you'll see eventually why he chooses that form for good later down the line. Just like how you saw him in the very first episode in the First Age/beginning of Second Age when he was in hiding and he had almost the exact same armor he had in the movies. Since they talked so little bout him , people don't know alot of his backstory on who he was , people only think he was the 10 or 12 foot behemoth in the prologue and that's it . People don't know of his shape shifting powers that he had as a sorcerer etc ( and you'll see on how he loses that power eventually in the second age) Lots of stuff they're gonna have to talk about and I can't wait to see more of Sauron and his plans in the Second Age come to life . I can't wait for the other Rings to be forged and to possibly most likely see a Origins story of the Ringwraiths. You're in for a treat 😁so hyped for the next few seasons. Was nervous and skeptical bout this show and especially the first season but I'm loving it so far. Even though there are quite a bit of weird changes from the books , Second and First Age were already weird in the first place with so little info about them cause of no single big stories happen on the go like LOTR or the Hobbit, just scattered random stories put together that span over thousands of years lol. Which is why some stuff had to be added like the Harfoots stuff etc which I'm liking so far . I can't wait to see though what they have next for these seasons down the line

I agree re: the tension between Adar (sp?) and Sauron. I absolutely loved the three stalkers, whatever they were (are?). Our Stranger, the wizard, I'm hoping that's Gandalf but I wonder (if it's not him) who else it could be? VERY excited for the next season. Great reactions!

I could be one of the Blue Wizards. There's very little about them written so the show would be free to do what they want.

The 3 strangers are Easterlings from Rhun. And im pretty sure the Istar is Saruman or a blue wizard. It would make more sense. The blue wizards spent most of their time in the far East.

Gandalf came into middle-earth in the third age. This is the second age. Most likely, this wizard is one of the two blue wizards!

Ok, so 3 very powerful magical beings, at the very center of the plans of the greatest evil known, spent the entire first season FOLLOWING THE WRONG PERSON!!!! Then, when they finally meet him, their plan is to tie him up. That's basically all you need to know about the writing.

How would they know do you reckon? If you were waiting for the return of the Dark Lord, would you start following the guy who was picked up from a raft or the guy who fell from the sky in a ball of fire? Not even Adar knew Halbrand was him. As far as I remember, Sauron changed his form many times over the centuries he was in hiding. It would make sense that not even his own followers would recognize him. He is the deceiver, after all. And that will of course be an interesting development as soon as he runs into Adar and the Orcs :)

Interesting review! Where do you see the TV show in the lotr lore? Which lotr movies copied scene or dialogues have u liked most in RoP? Have you missed the finding Nemo monologue by Galadriel? Good question: how did sauron know about mithril? He didn't...it was all by chance. Lucky him that the greatest craftsman of the elves is a apprentice lvl craftsman. But If galadriel now knew that she was fooled by sauron (and of course not one of the mightiest elves discovered him) why didn't she stopped the making of the ring....but instead made 3? Strange. Really strange. But awesome that you really liked it.

I realize I was a bit rude the other day and I apologize for that. That said I give this season a 0.5 out of 10. You have to wait for two years for the second season apparently. Anyway, have a nice day dudes.

Alas ROP has decieved many and shall decieve many more, it is its nature, Mor"mazon" has equavalently sacked the literary Osgiliath equivalent of Professor Tolkien's lore and story with season one, it is a descration of "history of the elvish speaking tongues..Shall we now sit around the fire and muse sadly on Rings of Power? Our position, "Exsurge Tolkien" (published 25 March 22, and available for review on our channel), remains the most comprehensive analysis (and foreshadowed) of the Anti-Tolkien agenda of the ROP enterprise as declared by the showrunner's own words. We now see what the corporate machine theyocracy has wrought on Professor Tolkien's legacy: heresy, catastrophe, and disaster. Even the most ardent ROP supporters have weighed the show on the scales and found it wanting, "Auta i lóme" and "Aurë entuluva."
